At 13h00, the science team were assembled to greet the Commodore and her aides. And right on time, fresh from their review of Flight Control, the Commodore Mountbatten entered, her aides at her heels.
Arrianna was busy with her work with a holographic model of Qortic VI. "There has to be a way to vent all the plasma safely. If we just release the core pressure, there's only one place it will go. The atmosphere." She noted. "Then every piece of technology on the planet will fail."
She turned her attention a moment. "Greetings, Commodore." She then looked at her team, they were in mid-conversation about Qortic VI's situation.. "I wonder if it is possible we could modulate a starship's bussard ramscoops to collect the plasma right out of the atmosphere once the phasers release the plasma."
Danica eyed the Commodore's team. She was still curious what they were actually up to here. Unsure of whether or not to address them, she just chose to respond to Vanter instead. "Possibly. But I'm worried the plasma would just leak into the atmosphere anyway. We'd only be able to collect so much. If there was a way to create a confinement beam perhaps? Maybe some combination of shields and our tractor beams?" She paused. "I'm honestly not sure. With that much plasma, it'd be a difficult situation regardless."
Evelyn moved forward and listened. She was not about to burst in on what was obviously an important briefing. That would not stop her staff though she knew.
Orin eyed the Commodore as she stepped forward, giving the briefest of salutes before returning to the huddle. "That would be the best way to do it. Funnel the plasma upward until we can collect it, though the power consumption would be a logistical nightmare." He squeezed his eyes closed in concentration. Something was nagging him from the back of his mind "And if I remember correctly, we could use the plasma vents to eject what we collect away from the planet."
"I have an idea, we'll discuss it once we're done here. We may not have to vent the plasma if we do it the right way." Arrianna noted.
Evelyn drew back and looked around the room. Interesting indeed.
Danica wasn't sure what Arrianna's plan was, but she was intrigued. "Fascinating. I'll be curious to hear what you have in mind." She wracked her brain for a moment, but nothing new came to mind. "Other than that, is there anything else you need us to do, ma'am?"
Evelyn made a note on a PADD and handed it to her aides. It read simply "I think we are fine here."
