A smile spread across the gorns face as his white eyes made their way around the room making sure all the sleeping children were fast asleep. Quietly he slid a bookmark into the book before placing it back on the shelf and quietly slipping out of the room that had been converted into a room for his family's growing children. Connor, N’Vea, Soral and Savera who whilst not being officially part of the family was so in all but paperwork. His white eyes looked over the Cardassian/Bajoran Hybrid again as he stepped out of the room.

After what she'd been through it was good that she could sleep. He felt his hand tighten as he remembered the information they'd found about her. Unknown parents, left at a Bajoran orphanage only to be kidnapped by a bunch of alien psychopaths who had used her as a living medical experiment. He felt the sadness that something couldn't have been done before they blundered into the situation.

How had such a species ever gotten into the stars was a question he thought maybe was better left unanswered.

He kept the door open as he walked out and into his room. He smirked remembering how it had looked before his relationship. The alterations his wife-to-be had made had made it more homely, but he would miss some of the old stuff he had hanging around.

Stepping into he small kitchen the gorn reached for the coffee pot and poured himself a large mug. The hot liquid fell down his neck as he reached for the small plate of ration bars and helped himself to two of the bars. Even after all these years they tasted foul, but he knew he needed the nutrition and vitamins they contained.

Sitting down in his main chair he picked up the wood planks he had on the side table and continued his polishing. He still had two cribs to finish building.

He smiled as he worked feeling the weight of the metal tube he had hanging around his neck against his. A reminder that things were going to be all right.

How had this old bag of bones of a gorn managed to end up so lucky? The family he always wanted and he never thought he would have.

The slight sound coming from the bedroom made him pause. Thankfully nothing happened as one of the young ones mearly stirred before returning to sleep. The gorn contained his work dipping his cloth in the oil before he resumed his task

A beep from his computer made him look up. The latest load of reports had coming from medical. Putting down the wooden planks he stood up and made the short stroll to his desk. His whites blinked at the screen at the latest load of medical reports. More injuries and illness for him to look over. He let out a long and deep sigh. Life was never-ending. His eyes glanced over at the kids again bringing a smile to his face.

He wouldn't have it any other way.
