Jason and Cerese arrived at Das Alpine Haus and were instantly greeted by Hans. "Lieutenant Danvers! It is good to see you again and who is lovely Fraulein you have on your elbow?" Jason beamed at the compliment Hans paid Cerese. "Hans, this Cerese Gemini. Cerese this is Hans Mueller the owner of Das Alpine Haus." Hans took Cerese's left hand and kissed it softly. "Charmed I m sure." Hans replied before telling Cerese, If there is something you want but don't see ask, we will do our best to accommodate you. Now if you would both please follow me, I will take you to your table."

Cerese smiled warmly. “Thank you” she followed on behind Hans as they were lead to a table in a quiet corner. “This is lovely Hans, just where I’d choose to be.”

Hans nodded gratefully, "Thank you Fraulein, thank you very much." As he pulled out the chair to allow Cerese to sit down. He placed menus in front of them. Your server will be by shortly. Do enjoy your meal."

“We will, thank you” Cerese smiled as she made herself comfortable before picking up a menu. “So what would you recommend Jason?”

Jason smiled, "Before I answer that, do you like seafood or meat best? Once I know, I can better recommend a selection for you."

“I like either, but meat is a favourite” Cerese offered in response. “Any advice you could give will be a big help.”

Jason looked over the menu. "Okay let's see." He muttered as he studied the selections. After several seconds he looked across at her and smiled. "I think I have it. A twelve ounce Ribeye steak, with baked potato or fries, a choice of two vegetables and a salad if you want it."

“Sounds nice” Cerese nodded. “I think I’ll go with the fries, and definitely the salad along with the vegetables.”

Just the waitress appeared, 'Cathy' her name tag read, "Are you ready to place your order?" She asked looking at Jason and then Cerese.

Cerese nodded and looked to Jason. “Would you order for us please?” She smiled warmly.

"Yes we are," Jason replied as he looked at Cerese and then to Cathy. We'll have two twelve ounce Ribeye steaks. The lady will have fries, along with corn and string beans and a salad. I'll have a baked potato, carrots and string beans and the salad. Thank you." Cathy nodded smiled and dashed off to place their order. He smiled across the table at her. "Thanks again for going out with me."

“Well I wasn’t going to refuse you” Cerese smiled warmly. “Thank you for being so honest about your feelings for me.”

Jason returned her smile with one of his own, "You are welcome. I was worried you might think me brash in being so bold." He admitted,

“Brash? Not at all” Cerese shook her head. “My people prefer directness and honesty. No point in beating around the bush, as the human saying goes.”

A grateful smile appeared on Jason's face. "I'm glad you weren't offended or put off by my directness Cerese. Very glad." His eyes on her.

Cerese smiled and nodded her eyes meeting his. “I’m enjoying this evening Jason, I really am.”

Jason's smile grew even bigger. "I am happy to hear that Cerese, I am too." He admitted.

Cerese smiled before she sat back out of the way as their food arrived. “I’ve been looking forward to this.”

Jason smiled at her and looked at the meal before him. " They look fantastic don't they? " He asked looking across the table at Cerese. "Let's see if they taste as good as they look."

Cerese nodded as she politely started eating, the look on her face said it all as she savoured the meal. “That…is delicious!”

Jason grinned happily back at her. he couldn't talk as he had a mouthful of steak in it but his reaction was the same as Cerese's.

Getting back to her food all went quiet at the table as they both enjoyed their meal, Cerese ate politely until her plate was empty, politely wiping her mouth with a napkin as she eventually finished eating.

Jason finished a few seconds late. "Wow! That was a fantastic meal! Did you like it and have you got room for dessert?" He asked with an expectant smile.

“There’s always room for dessert!” Cerese replied even though she was already pretty full.

Jason nodded in agreement, "Right you are! There is always room for dessert." He picked up a menu, "Let's see what they have,"

“How’s about something we can share?” Cerese offered as an idea. “Nothing more fun and romantic than sharing something.”

Jason nodded happily on agreement. "That sounds like a great idea!" He answered as his eyes poured over the menu in search of a dessert they could share.

“How’s about this…” Cerese pointed to a sharing platter on the dessert menu.

"Oooohhhhhhh yes! Double chocolate. double vanilla, double whip cream with cherries! You picked a winner Cerese."

“Excellent! Then we’ll order that” Cerese smiled warmly.

Jason nodded and called Cathy over and told her what they wanted for dessert. She nodded and headed off to get. While they waited for her to returned with the delectable treat, Jason looked at Cerese. "Are you enjoying yourself Cerese?"

“I am most definitely enjoying myself” Cerese nodded and smiled. “You’ve all made me so welcome here, and this is just the icing on the cake, as the saying goes.”

"I couldn't agree more!" Jason replied happily. "This evening has been truly magical and I thank you for making it so." He replied as they waited for their dessert to arrive.

“Well it’s not over yet” Cerese grinned. “I’m already looking forward to spending more time with you.”

Jason's smile grew even larger (if that was possible) "I like the sound of that very, very much."

“Good” Cerese grinned. “I’d like to learn all there is to learn about your world, and the others that make up where you come from. I can’t think of anyone else I’d like to show me.”

Jason positively beamed at Cerese's worlds. "It would be a pleasure to show and tell you all about my world. No, I take it back it would be an honor to show and tell you about my world."

“Then I will look forward to it” Cerese smiled warmly.

"It will be my honor Cerese. I have so much to show you." Jason replied this evening was going better than he had ever hoped.

“So what are your plans for after dinner?” Cerese gave him a curious look.

Jason smiled back at her, "Well, I thought when we finish our meal, we could take a stroll through the arboretum. it's nice, quiet and relaxing. That's if you want to."

Cerese nodded. “The arboretum, I love it there. That would be lovely.” She smiled warmly.

Jason smiled, "Good! Then it is settled. After we're finished here, next stop the arboretum. Where we can enjoy the wonder and beauty of nature among other things." His eyes on her.

“I like the sound of that” Cerese smiled. “My people are at one with nature, so being in the arboretum will be like being at home.”

"Perfect!" Jason replied, "While we're there, I'd very much like to learn about your culture and people as well. We can learn from each other."

“I’d like nothing more” Cerese nodded in agreement. “I haven’t had the chance to talk to anyone about my people in a very long time.”

"I am all ears." Jason replied just as the waitress returned with their dessert. "Wow!" He exclaimed. "I looks even better up close that it did on the menu. "You ready to try this?" He asked Cerese with a grin.

“You bet I am!” Cerese nodded and smiled. “It looks absolutely delicious.”

Jason nodded, "Let's find out if it tastes as good as it looks!"

Cerese grinned and picked up her spoon, digging into her dessert she let out an appreciative “mmmm” nodding as she did so.

Jason picked up his spoon and took a scoop of the desert. Seconds later his delighted "mmmmm." joined Cerese's.

Cerese couldn’t help but grin, there wasn't a single word until they’d both finished their desserts.

Jason was lost in the moment. being here with Cerese, enjoying her company was a magical moment and he didn't want it to end.
