Timeline: MD 2 / 0900 hours

The morning after the initial meeting, two representatives from the Havraha's intelligence department beamed over to the Elysium. They were under orders to share any intelligence they had, provided it did nor exceed any current United Federation of Planets and Romulan Star Empire agreements.

The two officers, a male crewman, and his superior, a female ensign, stood in thr transporter chamber, wearing nondescript uniforms. When they finished materializing, the woman stepped forward towards Rin and dipped her head respectfully. "Greetings, Lieutenant Commander Rin. I am Erein Fatana, and this is one of my enlisted crewmen, Teleras M'kata. We are here to share what we have discovered during our time in this galaxy." Though respectful of Rin's senior rank, she was not at all warm in how she spoke.

"Jolan'tru," Rin replied, using the Romulan greeting. "We appreciate the cooperation. If you'll please follow me."

Rin brought the two Romulans to a turbolift, and from there took them to a conference room.

"Please, have a seat. Would you like something to drink?" she asked, pouring water from a pitcher into the glasses already arranged with it.

Once inside the conference room, their security escort remained our in the corridor.

Fatana sat, nodding to M'kata that he may as well. She then looked at Rin. "Red leaf tea, if your replicators have the proper leaf characteristics on file?"

Nicholas, who had been waiting in the conference room, moved over to the replicator and made the requested order. "Anyone else? He asked in a friendly manner.

Fatana replied for M'kata. "That will be all for us."

Rin paused while drinks were delivered and their guests could determine if it was to their liking. With pleasantries concluded, she began the meeting in earnest. "Shall we start at the beginning, at our arrivals in this galaxy? Or is there something of particular note we should address first?"

Fatana seemed to scowled slightly. "As you are the senior officer, the choice is yours."

Nicholas gave Rin an oh boy look, then let out a short breath. It was going to be a long day.

"Then we shall start at the beginning," Rin replied. She had been attempting to be polite and keep the conversation casual, but if Fatana did not wish it, so be it. "You can catch us up with your experiences in Circinus before you tracked down the Elysium."

Fatana took in a breath. She then relayed, in crisp cold detail, where the Havraha had entered the Circinus Galaxy, in a nebula that was later estimated to be roughly five to ten sectors from where Elysium had landed. She went on to state that the ship's systems were nearly destroyed during the crossing, but the raw materials of the nebula had been more than adequate in their rebuilding and repair. Short of having a dry dock work her over, the Havraha was now operating at nearly one hundred percent capacity.

"We lost twenty-five officers, fifty enlisted and forty-nine of our marines." She listed coldly, especially when she mentioned the Marines, as they were seen as second class in the Galia, or Romulan Navy. "The marines died when the hibernation tubes they were stored in were destroyed."

Nicholas caught the tone that the woman used when discussing their marine force. While he knew the way that the two forces felt about each other, he had never seen it for himself. Nor could he ever think or feel that way about their own Marine force, even if his baby brother hadn't joined their ranks. Clearly, it was simply a difference of how people viewed their own kind.

"I'm sorry to hear," Rin responded. "But I'm glad you're back to full capacity, as are we. Everyone has a better chance of getting home if we're both fully operational. We lost a third of personnel on board, which includes civilians. We evacuated to a nearby planet while repairs were underway. It was unpleasant, but we're still here to complain about it. But I'm more interested in what you encountered between when we arrived in this galaxy and when we crossed paths again. Encounters with native populations, stellar phenomena, navigation data, other information that we might make use of moving forward."

Fatana pressed a few controls on her datapad, and nearly two hundred terabytes of information transferred from the Havahra computer core to the Elysium's. "I have just transferred everything relevant, Commander. In the files you will see that we charged ten seperate worlds, encountering one sentient species, one of whom that was brought aboard our ship and became the Human's woman," she said this last part with distaste in her voice. Romulans were long known to be strictly xenophobic, especially when it came to sexual relations. There were the oddities, of course, such as SubCommander Sela, the hybrid spawn of a Romulan male and a captured female Human. However, for the most part, the hybrids were viewed as less-than, and regulated to the most menial of existence.

"Our stellar cartography department was able to pinpoint your location less than a week after we arrived. Our former Riov was determined to hunt you down and, when the moment presented itself, cripple you and take what we needed to get back home, if it was even possible."

"What stopped him?" Rin asked neutrally.

"Her," Fatana corrected. "Though the human sat in the command seat after our Riov died, he was not Riov." She took a short breath as she finished speaking.

"Apologies. Her" Rin said, acknowledging the correction. "What stopped her in her pursuit of us? The human?" There was a trace of disdain in her voice, as if empathizing with Fatana having to put up with such an indignancy.

Hearing Rin's supportive tone, Fatana softened some. "Mainly, her death ended her desire to pursue you. The Human's desire was ended when he was placed in confinement with his woman. Then, the idea of pursuit changed to cooperation when Olmex assumed command, under the authority of the Preator, who apparently had assigned Olmex to the Havraha undercover, to investigate Mishka, the Riov who was obsessed with you Commodore and Executive officer."

Rin sat back in her chair. "Care to fill me in on how that went down? I'll eventually need to interview the brat. A little extra insight could be helpful. I don't assume you're compelled to share this information. I merely make the request."

Fatana furrowed her brows in a confused manner. "I do not understand this term...brat?"

"Oh, sorry..." Rin frowned a moment while considering an explanation. "Childish, spoiled, annoying, exaggerated sense of importance. Which is my initial impression of Pierpoint."

This actually caused a slight smirk to cross Fatana's face. "That is exactly how he behaved. If Mishka hadn't protected him, the Human would have been killed before he even set foot upon the Havraha."

"So what was Mishka's fascination with him? How'd he manage to end up in the command seat after her death?" Rin asked.

Fatana shrugged. "I could not tell you why she was so infatuated with him. Unlike you Starfleet types, I the Romulan Navy, our comnanding officers do not share their thoughts with their subordinates." She took a breath, then continued. "As for how he assumed command, he simply took it before any of us could wrestle command from him. Thankfully, he was quickly removed and a proper Rimulan was placed in command. She frowned slightly as she added, "Unfortunately, he proved to be far too timid to serve as a proper commander, so the commander of our Marine unit, under apparent orders from the Preator himself, removed the junior officer and assumed command. That was right before we came to your aid."

"He 'simply took command'? On a ship full of capable Romulans?" Rin asked incredulously.

"I'm not meaning to bring any embarrassment to your crew, if that is your concern," she continued. "You have very capably followed us for some time, and your participation in the recent attack was commendable. But I need to understand who we are working with, and unfortunately Pierpoint is a part of that. And without an opposing narrative, I have nothing to go on but his version of things, which I suspect will be... colorful. He will attempt to sow discord, and some will listen. Both of us wish to be done with him. Your version would be most helpful in that."

Fatana nodded in understanding. With a heavy sigh, she responded. "While I do not personally agree with it, the High Command sometimes allows deserters from our enemies to serve in the fleet, provided they have supplied High Command with enough actionable intelligence to prove their worth. Pierpoint has proven himself. However, when he assumed command, following Mishka's death, it did not sit well with the rest of us. So, we removed him from comnand snd locked him up in the brig where he belonged." She frowned as she finished speaking. "While High Command has its reasons for doing things, I do not personally agree that defecters should be given any authority. They have already proven that they cannot be trusted. Why would it be any different with them serving in our navy?" She shook her head in disgust. "I say, your Commodore should just space him and be done with him."

"We have rules, and the Commodore intends to follow them even this far from home," Rin said. "So, what happened to Mishka?"

"It was during the crossing from our galaxy to here," Fatana replied softly, remembering the horror of that event and how she had almost lost her own life. "She was in her cabin, and was thrown against the bulkhead, which broke her neck. By the time medical had been able to get to her, she had already passed away." The young Romulan woman was silent for a few beats, then she added, "Of all the ways to die, to do so alone is one I fear greatly."

Rin quietly sipped her drink in thought, giving the slightest of nods in acknowledgement of Fatana's words. It was not a slight thing for Fatana to have shared this. The Romulan had entered the room only under the orders of her Riov.

"I... haven't really thought about it," Rin volunteered softly. ""I think perhaps I've always assumed I would die alone."

She raised her glass. "A toast to those no longer with us. May we live as they would have wished as we bring our survivors home."

Fatana mirrored Rin's gesture, raising her own glasses she replied. "To those no longer with us."

The four officers then spent the next couple of hours discussing various things, both official and personal, as what seemed to be a possible, if not friendship, then a cooling of acient hostilities, started to take place.

Wen they were done, Fatana thanked Rin and Nicholas for their time, and left with her aide , to return to the Havraha.
