ZYPHERA PRIME FLIGHT OPERATIONS

ENVIRONMENT

Zyphera Prime operates within extremely dense civilian, commercial and diplomatic traffic.

Flight Control should expect traffic volumes significantly greater than those encountered at Seelak Station.

Local traffic authority has primary navigational control inside designated station approach zones.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Flight Control will manage:

- Elysium station-keeping.
- shuttle movements.
- diplomatic transport requirements.
- emergency extraction routes.
- fighter readiness.
- navigation coordination.
- local traffic-control liaison.
- updated Circinus navigational information.
- approach/departure planning for visiting vessels.

RESTRICTIONS

Weapons activation within Zyphera-controlled space is heavily restricted.

Unauthorised fighter launches may be interpreted as hostile action.

Pilots are to follow local flight corridors unless emergency conditions dictate otherwise.

EREBUS CONSIDERATIONS

Flight Control should begin examining the practical question everyone else will eventually reach:

How does a starship actually fly through Erebus?

Areas requiring study include:

- approach vectors,
- alignment tolerances,
- entry velocity,
- autopilot requirements,
- manual-control viability,
- navigational reference loss,
- sensor behaviour during transit,
- formation transit,
- aborted entry,
- emergency reverse,
- exit-point navigation,
- post-transit orientation.

There is presently no established Federation flight manual for trans-galactic artificial apertures.

Flight Control may eventually be responsible for writing it.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION

The route home may not end at the aperture.

Current modelling indicates Erebus is unlikely to provide direct transit across the entire thirteen-million-light-year distance.

Whatever waits at the exit may require further navigation.

Plan accordingly.

Getting Elysium through it is yours.
