Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Mission: Episode 1: Hell is a four letter word
Location: Transporter Room
Timeline: Arrival on Earth - MD 17
485 words - 1 OF Standard Post Measure

Arrianna waited in the transporter room with Garret Lovejoy's precious PADD. She didn't alter anything on it. She simply picked it up after all the chaos on the bridge was over with. She turned when she noticed them enter.

"Don't forget the tool of your trade, Commander." It was a nudge against him and Albright as she handed him the PADD.

Garrett took the PaDD. "Why thank you ever so much Lieutenant Commander." He replied sweetly you could practically see the sugar dripping from every word. "Your thoughtfulness knows no bounds now does it?"

Evelyn entered and paused at the transporter Padd. She gave Arri a brief look. "Captain Lalor has resumed command as per protocol. Thank you for your assistance Commander during this time." She stepped up beside Lovejoy.

Percival blinked. "Assumed command?" He found himself shaking his head. "Certainly there must be inquires due. Thorough investigations. Debriefings!"

Arrianna shook her head. "I don't know if we started on the right foot. Phoenix seems to trust you, Commodore, and I trust Phoenix. So I'll give you the benefit of a doubt." She then looked at Albright. "As for you. You will have to live with the thought that you almost sent a political refugee back to certain death on Hiran. I do not intend to let you forget that. You're going to have to live with that for the remainder of your career, but you two's heart is in the right place, and even the best of us makes mistakes."

Evelyn looked at Percy. "Both Medical and counseling have cleared Captain Lalor for duty and as they are about to go on R&R, Starfleet command agree that it is appropriate for her to be back in command." Then she turned. "Beam us to starbase 1 commander."

Percy cleared his throat as if to interject, despite the order just given to return home, but he thought smarter of it. The commodore had made her decision, and Percy knew well enough not to argue the point any further until he could have her ear in private. He nodded and stepped into formation, awaiting the transporter beam.

"That is surprising, and it will make the three of you plenty of enemies at Starfleet Headquarters. I happen to be aware of a great deal of media attention regarding Captain Lalor. Including the attention of the Royal Family of Hiran. Phoenix will not admit it, but she'll never truly escape her origins. Many eyes are upon her, not all of them friendly, and more than a few of them have dangerous intent." Arrianna noted. "I'm afraid certain people will not stop with just your assessments."

Evelyn nodded and stood silent.

Arrianna moved to the transporter controls. She activated the transporter and beamed both of them to the base. "Good Riddance. I so wanted to beam the three of you to a Louisianna Bayou somewhere, or maybe New Jersey."

Sometimes I love to just go back in time and reread some of our old stuff, this post was always a favorite. Though, I must bring up a point with Arri. No matter what they've done, nobody deserves to be beamed to New Jersey, lol.
