Standing in her cabin Lia looked around it, in a small way she didn't want to leave it. She had taken over two years to get it looking as it did, so many alterations had been done to it that one could be mistaken in thinking you were on the holodeck. Using every trick in the book, she had made the cabin look like the interior of a traditional Japanese house. She had even raised the floor by four inches so she had a place for people to leave their shoes, and replicated house slippers for her guests. Her thoughts turned to Gary, he was still in his cabin surrounded by all his memories. Would he let her change the cabin? Could he let go of his past, of his dead wife to allow her to make her mark?
She sat on her futon bed and began to place her small's in a box, she glanced at the wardrobe and shook her head. Where were all her clothes going to go? Then her thoughts turned to her situation, another road block that had raised it's self across her path in life. How was this going to turn out? Would Phoenix, Star Fleet even, allow her to continue in her present post? Would she be seen as a security risk? If she was, what would be left for her? She sniffed back the tears that were beginning to form in her eye's, it felt as if she was looking down a bottomless pit.
As she stood up, her hand pressed her computer play list. A few notes played and a female Japanese voice began singing, the theme to an old romantic drama slice of life anime filled the cabin. The theme song from "Clannad~After Life~" now echoed in Lia's ears, she knew it so well but this time she halted as a strange thought now took shape in her mind. In many ways her life had began to mirror the storyline of that anime, only it was her daughter that died not she herself. It was her life that now had reached a crossroads, not the male character in the story (Gary). The similarities now piled up almost one on one, Lia listened and froze as with almost pin point timing she could list things which matched. Only the Romulan prison didn't fit, and if it didn't fit why did it happen?
Another song began, the theme to "Charlotte". The spell was broken, nothing in Lia's life matched that anime. Or did it? One of the supporting characters ends up in a sanatorium, as those around him fight against an unseen enemy. She could end up in a sanatorium, but would Gary, Liselle and Anje fight for her? Again her hobby, her passion seemed to point the way. Both anime ended with the main characters living happy if damaged lives, could this be some sort of premonition about what was going to happen to her? *This is crazy* she thought, but the real fact of the matter was. Things fitted, and for Lia when things fitted they fitted for a reason. A third song now started, another theme. "Angel Beats", an anime about a school of the dead. Again certain things fitted for Lia, her dead daughter was called Angel. And at times this crazy ship felt just like a school, and that anime ended with the two main characters meeting in real life.
Grabbing the box she hit the stop button, breathing heavy she headed back to Gary. For now she would keep this weird event to herself, Gary already thought she was nuts. If she started rambling about premonitions and how her life matched certain anime, he'd would almost certainly have her committed. Was she going nuts? Who knew?
