Charlie had no idea why she had taken Dorso home with her: his hair was too short, he was too big, way too unrefined, basically an ox in a uniform, even moreso than the Grundaks, who were actually evolved from old Earth oxen; totally not her type. She pulled back her blanket, revealing his nude body and the most magnificent muscles she'd ever seen on a man, especially one that young, ~Oh, yeah, that.~ She reminded herself, ~Plus his stamina is amazing.~
Dorso began to stir, rolling over and opening his eyes, gazing at Charlie, She's like smokin' hot.... he thought, propping himself up on his right elbow and saying, "'Sup, babe?"
Charlie ran her hands through her short dark hair and laughed, "You finally." She said, amazed at how fast and hard he'd crashed after they finished, "You should get going before your section Chief realizes you're gone, wouldn't want you to get in trouble."
"Right, right." He nodded, standing and looking around for a second, clearly confused, "Uh, so, stupid question I'm sure, but have you seen my uniform?"
"It's right over the..." Charlie pointed to a now empty space on her floor, noting the dress she'd been wearing at work was also missing, "Uh, Jonny, you don't think there's someone in here, do you?"
"Well, if he's here, he's gonna regret running into me." Dorso stated, wrapping himself in the sheet and going to check the smallish quarters the new bartender had gotten assigned.
Ten minutes later Dorso returned to Charlie's side, "Nobody here." He shook his head, heading over to his gym bag and grabbing his running shorts and Engineering t-shirt, a gift from Liorga it read 'Engineering: I'm not arguing, just explaining why you're wrong.' He stopped dead in his tracks as he pulled the shirt over his head, "You hear that?"
"What?" Charlie asked, this was getting creepier by the second.
"Listen." Dorso ordered, hearing the sound again, "That."
This time Charlie heard it for sure, the distinct sound of a baby crying and, if that wasn't bad enough, the realization that there was no way in Hell the ship should be so silent that she could hear that, "Jonny, something's wicked wrong." She said, her Boston accent becoming thick as her voice quivered.
"Nearest baby is Tayalas." Dorso said, alarmed, "We gotta get across the hall, check on Gallia and the Chief!"
Shooting across the hallway Dorso rang the chime, hearing only Tayalas' terrified screams in reply, "Okay, no time for good manners, Jonny D!" He decided, plugging his padd into the door panel and overriding the lock, finding the Chief and Gallia missing and Tayalas in her crib sobbing.
"MAAAMMMAAAA!!!" The baby screeched, where were they? She recognized the two who had entered, one worked for black hair mama, the other one brought her her chocolate milk when they ate at the place with all the stars on the wall. She looked at them mournfully and said, "Sana..."
"It's okay, baby." Charlie said soothingly, scooping the terrified bundle into her arms, "Charlie's got you, you're okay."
Suddenly over the Comm came: "Attention all hands. We are under attack. We have Jem Hadar on decks 23, 34, 16, 19 and 4. All civilians are to remain in the shelters. All crew prepare to repel boarders. Lethal force has been authorized. All turbolifts are down."
"Jem Hadar?" Charlie's voice quaked, "Here?"
"It'll be okay, I got this." Dorso said, his voice strong and reassuring. He walked into the Chief and Gallia's room, opening the wooden chest in which Gallia kept her family's ancestral weapons: a razor sharp Scottish dirk and that positively ancient revolver, he thought Gallia called it a Wellington or something. Arming himself he motioned to Charlie, "You and Tay go in there. She's got plenty of toys and there's a replicator if you need anything else, lock the door."
"What about you?" Charlie asked.
"I'm gonna be right here in the lobby to greet our guests." Dorso replied, fully intending to live up to that vow, even if it cost him his life. He nodded to Charlie and Tayalas, "It's okay." Without another word he shut the door on them, preparing himself for a fight he knew he had no chance of winning, only hoping he could buy Tay and Charlie enough time to get away from those monsters....

Okay, Dorso's a little thick, but awfully brave.
