Brief Interview with Ms Elisha Pryce-Randal - onboard Ship Reporter

EPR: What is your role on the Elysium? And what does it entail?
NMcK: I'm the Ships Assistant chief of Science, I handle the day to day operations of the science department when the CSO isn't available or when its something that doesn't warrant her immediate attention. Though most of the time My Attention is devoted to my Research in the Medical field.


EPR: What made you choose that line of work?
NMcK: My parents were both Star Fleet doctors, And More pertinently, I'd always had a fascination with the Borg when Star Fleet first encountered them. Terrified fascination yes, but Fascination nonetheless.

EPR:How do you handle the pressure that comes with being a Starfleet officer?
NMcK: The Trick is to have hobbies that aren't stressful, I find Gardening and Slower paced, Relaxing Holosims to be quite stimulating. That, and the occasional shot of Martian absinthe Never hurts the Mood.


EPR: What would you say to a cadet aspiring to do what you do?
NMcK: Find your Passion, and chase it.Chase it right past any ethics committee if you have to, so long as its for the Greater good of the federation.


EPR: What is your favorite memory of your time at the academy?
NMcK: That's an easy one. I was in my Second year of medical specialization when I Stole a whole bunch of CRSPR Drones to modify a bunch of coffee plants I was tending to Hydroponically. I ended up tweaking their DNA so that the beans they produced had four times the amount of caffeine. Yeah...I was selling Cups of that stuff around campus for about three months, even to Professors until this...ah..lets just say a Vulcan caught wind of my experiment...and Had me shut down and hauled in front of the Ethics committee. Most of whom had sampled my coffee at some point. Well, they reprimanded me, but Ultimately said it was a harmless experiment.


EPR: Do you have any funny tales to tell about your time on the USS Elysium?
NMcK: Oh, Well, day one was a Riot. I Sneaked on through the cargo holds at Star dock, Much to the chagrin of Security. They ended up sending Ensign S'hib after me, And I spent the remaining time I had with him just doing my damndest to embarrass him. I must have done a good job cause he's been avoiding me.
