Plotting, Even if Only Holographically...

Mission:
Casperia Prime - A lesson in relaxation
Location: Holodeck
Timeline: before Red Alert sounded
537 words - 1.1 OF Standard Post Measure
Gallia sat in the window of an empty building, a rarity in modern New York City to say the least, especially one so close to a Federation Court; you'd have thought they would make sure all the buildings this close to a court house would be occupied just to prevent what she was there to do, but they aren't. The place was locked up tight, had been for years judging from the layers of dust in the place, but she was an engineer, so that wasn't even an issue; she'd defeated the lock and re-secured it from the other side, nobody looking at it would be the wiser, as far as their eyes and even their equipment would know this was just a derelict office building, nobody had been inside for years.
But she was inside, looking out from behind a projected holographic image of a durasteel shutter through a powerful sniper scope, her shoulder to the stock of an ancient Soviet PTRS anti-tank rifle; Mrs. Cardille's limousine was armored, she knew this and had planned for it. There was also the added bonus of knowing this weapon's 14.5 millimeter round would reduce Rico Cardille to red mist. Now she saw her quarry, the Cardille family's motorcade arriving at court, she could almost smell the smug satisfaction off of them, knowing they were about to escape justice for Dolana's murder again, then come for Tayalas...
Donald Harlan stepped out first, like he usually did, and began pandering to the cameras. If they ever made the prototype for a sleazy lawyer, it was this guy. The idea of taking him now appealed to her, but she knew that Debby's driver would floor it and Rico would escape again, so she'd let him run his stinkhole for a little longer.
Next came two bodyguards, a pair of large Orions from the look of it, they were just doing their job and she had no quarrel with them. I'll shoot only if they shoot at me. She decided then looked at her setup and laughed Shoot at what?
Finally Rico stepped out of the limo, that slutty Paige Kramer, the woman he'd cheated on Dolana with, the woman who ended up getting her sister killed, on his arm. That filthy whore was wearing Dolana's bracelet...
"Tha's all I need te see." Gallia said, wiping tears from her eyes as she took aim on Rico, setting the scope on his heart, and placed her finger on the trigger, readying herself to squeeze it and end all of this before vanishing in the blue shimmer of a transporter beam.
She squeezed the trigger...
But froze, watching Rico Cardille and his rogues gallery walk into the courthouse unharmed, even the worthless bitch wearing Lana's bracelet...
Gallia slumped to the floor and cried, she couldn't get the job done, now all was going to be lost, including Tayalas because there was no way to fight these people and win, the rich and evil always got their way. She'd lost her sister and now was going to lose her daughter as well...
"Couldnae get the job done, no even in the holodeck." She wept, "Computer, shut this damn thing off...."
