Britannia
Casper put on the last piece of his Tactical EVA uniform, the white polished chest piece gleamed in the artificial light from the USS Britannia Cargo hold that had be retrofitted into a Marine Barrack for his thirty seven fellow marines. First Lieutenant Thronhill and Platoon from the 3rd Battalion 1st Marines was being assigned a Security detail for the Point Harper. The Britannia and Point Harper were just coming into orbit around the Planet G-657. It had a small Colony on it that was requesting help from the Federation. The small city Kirkland was being ravaged from some type of unknown disease and it was having a huge effect on the population. Point Harper was being assigned to provide Medical Services for the Colony to see if they can help stem the tide on the advancement of the disease.
The Cargo hold hand been converted into several different rooms to support the Marine unit attached. The room that Casper had just left was the Equipment Room he moved down to the little briefing room that had been constructed. They also had a area set aside for sleeping quarters and a small mess room and a decontamination area rounded out what they had. While on this assignment this was where they were going to be. They had strict orders to not go anywhere else in the vessel Casper had actually had the doors locked to ensure that no one left.
Walking into the briefing area he moved up to the table and scanned the layout of Kirkland. It was a simple layout of the city but that was also because it had been built with expansion in mind. The main objective was to ensure that the Medical hospital was secured. The local police unit was having a tough time trying to keep the citizens in order and not over run the medical staff that was there, a lot of the Officers were already out with what was ravaging the Colony. Casper was going to assign two squads to help shore up those defensives, a third Squad would be patrolling the city to help try and stop the looting that was still taking place. Looking at the three Corporals and the Staff Sergeant that was at the table he nodded to them.
Staff Sergeant Julia Styles had was a twenty-five year veteran of the Corps. She had seen it all and yet had kept her humanity and easily approachable by all those within the Platoon. She had joined the Marines at the age of nineteen and at forty-four she had seen it all and then some. How she was able to still have a feminine side which was very rare as woman proceeded up through the ranks of the Marines. Next to her stood Harry Deer. Newly promoted to Corporal Harry was looking forward to expanding his leadership skills. Casper found himself liking the work ethic of Harry, Casper saw Harry going far if he kept up what he does doing already. To Casper right was Billy Frood. Billy was the joker of the platoon Casper had noted but Billy also had a serious side when it came down to it. Finally Dillion Read was the last Corporal to beam down with Casper. She had been a Corporal for a couple of months now and ran her section very hard but they liked her for it.
"Good morning," Casper stated as he looked at each of them. After they all replied morning back Casper informed him of what they knew currently and what each of them would be doing. Finally he looked at Julia, "You'll be in charge of the night Sections going down. If we need all sections on the planet on either shift there is to be a five minute response time no more. Agreed?" They all nodded in unison.
Onboard the USS Point Harper, Ltjg Olivia Voight was helping prepare the medical aid that she and the others onboard would be rendering to the planet G-657. She along with several other officers were doing a lot of extra prep work in getting the Cadets that they had with them on this mission ready for whatever may lay ahead of them once they got planet side. Going over another list, Olivia checked off items as she made sure that they were there in the cargo bay that had been temporarily converted into a triage area before patients got sent on to Sickbay for treatment. Olivia currently had several of the cadets setting up cots along one wall with partitions between them to give a little privacy for when the patients were resting as best they could while being treated. Once everything was set up in the Cargo Bay, Olivia gave the cadets a break to get something to eat and relax a little before they got started all over again in getting another Cargo Bay set up as a make shift triage area for Sickbay.
Olivia had a feeling that this was going to a true test for many of the Cadets onboard this cruise. It would test their ability to handle the worst of possible pressure and their patience at times. She just hoped that each of them would be able to handle things since it would be part of their final grade before graduation at the Academy. All the Cadets onboard for this particular cruise were sharing quarters, 2 to a room like they were still back in the dorms back at the Academy. A few select set of quarters near Sickbay had been set up as temporary private rooms for certain patients should it be needed to move some of them.
Britannia
Casper and his squad stepped on to the transporter padd in their cargo hold. They were in their Assault uniforms with their rifles in hands and backpacks on, nodding to the transport tech that he was ready they were soon whisked off to their Landing zone site just outside the Capital hospital that was currently being assaulted by protesters.
Activating his exterior speakers he called out for the local Police Captain, the Captain moved over to him, "First Lieutenant Thornhill Ma'am were here to supplement your staff; where would you like us?" The female Captain that you could tell hadn't slept in days looked at Casper in his suit and smiled a little through her face respirator that she had on, "We could use the help right here actually Lieutenant I have a few Officers on the verge of collapsing." she replied to him.
"Right," he said motioning for his squad to take up positions, "Get your people into the building. Which area needs our Medical team first," Casper stated after moving on to the next item on the list. The female captain motioned to the building.
"You want to see Doctor Blacklock for that information," she replied taking a one of her officers by the shoulders when he nearly collapsed walking past them. He watched them move off to one of the other buildings and admired their courage and strength, they have been vending off protestors and looters since this first started to get really bad. Casper then moved off towards the main entrance that she had pointed at.
Upon entering the building he looked around at what must have been a beautiful lobby before hand, now there were just bodies lying everywhere some with sheets over their faces. Putting on a grim look he moved over to one of the staff members, "I am looking for Doctor Blacklock," Casper said.
A very tired Doctor Blacklock turned when she heard her name spoken. "I'm Doctor Blacklock. I'm glad your team has gotten here," Blacklock said. "Medical staff here is stretched very thin right now and there are a lot of supplies that we have either run out of or have very little left of at this point and time. I have a list around here somewhere on the supplies we are currently needing. Plus we could also use some relief staff to give those here a little bit of a break."
"Yes, Ma'am," Casper replied. He could tell that if she hadn't been overworked/tired and had a shower she would be a stunning Woman. Turning away he opened a channel to the Britannia, "Thornhill to Britannia. Perimeter secure. You can start transporting Medical Personnel and supplies down."
"Rodger Lieutenant. Enroute," The channel then closed. Thornhill nodded to the Doctor and turned to head back outside. He had just got outside as the first wave of Medical Personnel was transported down, like Thornhill they were all in EVA suits. The only difference was that they were the Naval type. Casper let them pass him as he made his way along the perimeter of the hospital checking in with the other checkpoints and fence line, he could hear phaser fire off in the distance which reminded him that this planet was still in some serious trouble. He could tell that it had been a pretty colony and probably would have enjoyed visiting it, but now it was going to take a long while to get it pretty again if ever.
As the relief medical staff started coming into the building, Doctor Blacklock directed them towards the area's where they were needed the most right then. Several others directed the incoming supplies and helped in sorting them. Once the relief staff was sorted into the different stations, Doctor Blacklock directed the some of the ones that needed the rest to go get some much needed rest. She figured it would be good to stagger the shifts in 15 minute intervals on those getting much needed rest rather than sending everyone all at once.
As the supplies where unpacked and sorted, the relief crew made sure that the supplies got dispursed to the area's that needed them.

OOC - so my plan is to get Casper hurt again... hehe... but when he is transported up to the Point Harper they stabilize him and then transfer him back over to the Britannia so as not to tax your vessel to much. One of the nurses come over to say that a Marine had been hurt but didn't know the name ;)
