Miran had gone off with friends, and she had not taken the news well about Ken, but understood it had not been Ken's fault. All comm calls to Ken had gone unanswered, and then she was told they had been blocked by Lovejoy, which just added to her wanting to kill him and Phoenix was sitting on her couch, a PADD in her hands, trying to write what she had wanted to tell him that evening.

She had scrapped about 4 different starts. But now she had a simple letter of:

Dear Ken, Wanted to share news with you before that person intervened. We are to be parents. Love you, Miss you. I am trying to get you all home soon. Pene.

She hated that she could not tell him in person, not celebrate with him in person, curl up with him, and discuss what this would mean for them, for their relationship.He had not been gone even half a day and she missed him. Before she could change her mind she pressed send.

She hoped he would get that message and that Lovejoy would not block it. If he blocked it, she would gut him herself.

She placed the PADD on the couch beside her and closed her eyes. ~You can do this Pene~ She told herself. ~Just get through this mission then go back to Earth and kick that arsehole's butt and get your team back!~ Slowly she sat up, stood up and moved to the replicator. She replicated several books and took them upstairs to her bedroom.
