Medical was a sore point for Seraphym. She had been through a lot in her years and Medical had never been a happy place. Not even when she had lived with Thomas and Juliette who had been CMO on the Montana, her dislike of Medical had never waned. But she had to do it, so she stepped into the Medical bay and looked around for an available doctor.
Tallia, seated at her desk reviewing paperwork, hadn't been expecting anyone, so she was to say the least shocked when a pretty blonde cadet walked into the office, "Yes, can I help you?"
"Sorry to disturb you Lieutenant. I am Cadet Seraphym Fitzroy, and I was told I needed to report to Medical for my on boarding Physical." Sera almost scuffed her boots but she stopped herself.
"Hmm, crap." Tallia joked, "I'm a stellar cartographer."
The cadet merely gnawed on her lower lip. "If you are busy, can i make an appointment?"
"No, come on in." Tallia smiled, "Don't be nervous, I'm Dr. Strode, or if you prefer Tallia. My best friend's sister is a cadet at the academy here, too. Milla Brett. You know her?"
"Ah, yes, she is my roommate." Sera said softly. "Though the way she speaks, it wont be for much longer." She paused. "You will want to review my file doctor."
"Already wanting to be back sharing quarters with Anje, huh?" Tallia laughed, "Yes, let me have a look at your records real fast."
"Ah no she said something about her fiance." Sera replied. And then she waited.
"Oh, you poor baby." Tallia shook her head, dismayed by some of the things she was reading in this poor girl's medical record, "You are seeing a counselor, right? I've got a friend in Counseling, Maddy Masters, she's excellent. Okay, so there's not a lot of physical stuff here, but still, going to give you a good solid once over."
"I am seeing a counselor." Sera replied softly. "Okay no worries, As long as we can do it quickly."
"Of course." Tallia smiled, "Just jump up on the diagnostic bed for me, please, and we'll go from there."
Nodding Sera did as requested. She sat and then laid back for the doctor.
"Okay." Tallia smiled, initiating the diagnostic bed scans, "This will tell me everything we need to know about your health."
"And am I fit for duty?"
"Physically you're top drawer." Tallia replied, watching the scans as they came in, "Mentally, I think you need to continue seeing your counselor regularly."
"I do." Sera said. "And I have come along way since then."
"Good." Tallia smiled, she could tell the young woman on the diagnostic bed had been through a lot, but had come back fighting, she admired that, "So, anything else you want to discuss?"
Sera sat up and then slid from the bio bed. "No thank you doctor."
"Okay, well, promise me one thing." Tallia began, "If you need anything, like medically or just someone to talk to, come find me? I mean, as your doctor I want to always be there for you."
The teenager nodded and gave a sheepish smile. "Thank you. I will keep that in mind"
"Thanks, and good luck, Cadet." Tallia offered, "And enjoy living with Milla. She loves to cook so you're probably going to gain weight."
"If she is ever there. Sounds like she has a busy social life." Sera said and headed to the door.
"Good luck." Tallia repeated, she was really pulling for this young woman, remembering something she'd heard Anje's aunt say once, "Fire tempers steel."
