OOC: Didn’t get to do what I had planned for Heather’s injuries so thought I’d have her experience problems with her leg, that lead to emergency surgery.

Having been released from Sickbay after her injuries were healed Heather had returned home to rest. She felt like a complete idiot, she was supposed to have been helping others and instead she ended up needing help herself. She knew she’d need to exercise her leg which was still giving her pain. Making up her mind she took a slow walk to Sickbay, when she got there she headed she took a seat in the patient rest area for a breather, before deciding to go find a doctor she was on her way when there was a searing pain in her leg and it gave way underneath her.
Tallia had come to see her erstwhile roommate, strictly as a visitor, she was off duty with her hair down, wearing khaki shorts and a pink top, it was Wednesday after all. As soon as she got through the doors and exchanged dirty looks with Walton she went into the patient rest area and heard a loud crash on the deck, rushing over to find Heather, soaked with a drink she must have just gotten from the replicator, "Oh, damn, honey, what did you do?" She asked, her concern obvious, reaching her hand down to help Heather back to her feet.
Fernando had decided to take his lunch break, to be with Heather as he entered , he looked around didn't see Heather and headed farther in. Then he saw Tallia and Heather on the floor. "Heather!" He shouted and rushed to her side. He looked at Tallia, "What happened?"
Heather looked at them both. “My leg was still painful so I decided to come here and get some help.” She cradled her leg. “There was a strong pain and my leg gave way underneath me!”
"How is she Tallia?" Fernando asked. His concern for Heather obvious.
"She'll be fine." Tallia reassured them both as she took readings of Heather's leg with her medical tricorder, "Just making sure this isn't a sign of a blood clot or anything." Tallia smiled to Fernando, "Okay, so we're good here, no signs of a clot. Just got some weakness in the legs. So, we're going to need you to start doing some physical therapy."
Heather held out her hand for Fernando to help her to her feet, hoping her legs would hold her this time. “So ... how long is that going to take?” She looked at Talia. “I wanted to get back to my duties but I’m useless like this!”
Fernando took Heather's hand gently in his but instead of helping her to her feet, he scooped her into his arms. "Now, you don't have to worry about putting any weight on your leg Heather."
“I’m not sure this will work when it comes to Physio though my love” Heather smiled warmly.
"Perhaps not Heather but we will cross that bridge when we get to it." Fernando replied with equal warmth.
“I know” Heather smiled as she lay her head against her husband’s chest. “Looks like you’re going to be stuck with me being off duty for a while longer.”
"A situation I am all too happy to endure Heather." Fernando told his wife with a grin.
"Yeah, now that we're not living together anymore she's going to be off." Tallia replied, somewhat sadly though with humor, "You're going to be fine, Heather, we're just going to need to put a brace on that leg until you've rebuilt your strength."
"Tallia, we have room. You can come stay with us, so you can monitor Heather's leg and you both can catch up on things." Fernando offered not wanting to see Tallia sad.
"No, no, I wouldn't want to be the third wheel." Tallia declined, convinced Fernando was just being polite, "Thanks anyway."
Fernando frowned, "Tallia, you are our friend not a third wheel. We would be honored to have you with us."
"Okay, if you feel like I'm needed I'll be her on call nurse again." Tallia agreed, she'd already packed a bag in preparation to see if Anje wanted to spend a few nights together, she would just use it at Heather's place instead, "Let me go home and pack some things, okay?" She then took a device out of the medical locker, wrapping it around Heather's leg and turning it on, "This is a muscle stimulator, on this setting it's got an analgesic effect, should feel really good soon."
Walton, watching from a distance, nodded approvingly, a by the book treatment instead of her normal seat of the pants, rules mean nothing approach to medicine. Many people thought she had a problem with Tallia, but she didn't, she was merely scared that Lt. Strode's recklessness would one day kill a patient.
Heather nodded. “Thank you Talia, looks like we’re going to be roomies again!” She grinned as she looked at Talia. “It’ll be fun the three of us together.”
"Indeed it will." Fernando exclaimed happily.
"Right." Tallia smiled, she was just happy to know that soon she wouldn't be alone in those huge quarters anymore.
