Devin walked into the cabin that was to be her home on the USS Elysium, she had gotten lost more than once. She had used her travel time to read on the crew since it was much more diverse than the Eagle-F had been. Getting lost was grating on her pride and it was going to make her look incompetent. She took a breath, "Avalon can I ask you for assistance in learning the layout of the ship?" She wasn't sure about how A.I. generally were interacted with but it hopefully wouldn't hurt by being polite in her request.
There was a pause then the AI physically manifested in front of Devin. "Lieutenant? How can I be of assistance?"
Devin blinked at the Al as it appeared in her quarters, "Uhm Hello, I spent my travel time getting to know the crew but not the layout of the ship. Can you please help me in learning more about the Ship's layout so I won't get lost again?"
"of course." The AI smiled. "Would you like it verbally or Holographically?"
Devin considered the question a moment and looked at Avalon, "Could you show a schematic and offer verbal cues for the key areas that I should be aware of?" She asked lightly having an AI to interact with was definitely going to take getting used to but Devin was going to do her very best.
"of Course" A holographic image of the current deck appeared. "This is deck 12, where your cabin is located."
Devin nodded, "Where are the Security offices, and Marines areas? I am supposed to working on getting training with both for my department." She asked lightly as she regarded the image and listened to Avalon giving her the details.
"Deck 19 is where Security is situated and Deck 32 for Marines." The hologram seemed to split and the decks appeared beside the Deck they were currently on.
Devin asked a few more questions about the ship's layout before she regarded the AI, "Thank you for your assistance I think I can figure it out from the schematics from here." She didn't want to take up too much of the AI's time and Avalon had been extremely helpful.
"That is quite alright. I am here to help. Oh as you are new to the ship, I would highly recommend you visit Deck 4. It is part of the ships multilevel Arboretum but it also houses, The Arcadia Bar and Lounge, the Ships' main Lounge. A good place to meet people." The AI said brightly.
Devin smiled, "I will definitely check those out, and thank you again for all your assistance. Have a good day Avalon." She said lightly, the AI had been extremely helpful and now Devin was more ready to familiarize herself with the ship.
"have a good day Lieutenant, and welcome to the Elysium"
