Mission: MISSION 0 - History Speaks
Location: Various
Timeline: After A Bit of Color
920 words - 1.8 OF Standard Post Measure

- Corridor -

Devin had finished her meeting with the CIO and was on her way to meet the CMO for her official transfer physical, she thought it was silly privately but rules and regulations where there for a reason. Some rules she followed no issue, others she would comment on. Devin finally found the right junction to turn at and headed towards Sickbay proper.

- Sickbay -

Devin walked in quietly she never knew if she was walking in at a bad or busy time but as long as she didn't hear folks complaining about their hurts she could wait until someone was available to see her. Her hair was still tied back in a braid that wound around her head, the royal blue hiding most of the scarlet highlights. Her uniform was still properly in order and she hadn't gotten into an argument with anyone yet.

The ships doctor walked out of his office his normal large cup of coffee in his hand. Noting the human female with the blue hair he wandered over trying to put on his most friendly smile as he did so. " Hello there I'm Dr Sthilg can I help you?" He asked politely.

Devin blinked fast at the appearance of the Gorn exiting out of the office but his greeting wasn't growly as she had encountered in previous interaction with Gorn officers. She gave a wry grin of her own, "Hello Doctor Sthilg, I am here for my physical as new transfer to the ship. My previous posting was the USS Eagle-F, I'm Devin xi'Idrai."

" Nice to meet you Devin xi'Idrai." the gorn said as he indicated her to follow him to one of the biobeds.

Devin followed being mindful of his tail, and once he pointed out which bio-bed her wanted her to get up on, she grinned as she goes out the step stool and got settled on the bio-bed. "I have to say you're the First Gorn Doctor I have met, no offense intended."

" None taken my people healersss aren't ssseen and mossst of usss outssside are ssspace are mercenariesss." He replied as he opned up the computer. " Any injuriesss not on your record sssince your last checkup? " He asked

"No Doctor, nothing new since last visit two weeks ago, the CMO of the Eagle -F should have sent my file but if it's still in transit my last injury was dislocated shoulder," Devin replied as she watched him, she figured she could get used to a Gorn Doctor, he acted like any other CMO she had met before, business like but not too briske in tone at least not yet.

" Ssstandard procedure I asssk everyone who comesss in for a checkup. " The Gorn explained as he started up the scanner. " Ssso how are you likeing the Elysssium?" He asked

"I am still getting used to it, the Eagle was only 12 decks, this ship had over forty decks, but what I have seen so far is very impressive." Devin said as she regarded him. The ship was enormous in comparison to her previous posting.

" Ssshe'sss a big ssship and ssshe hasss an even bigger heart." The Gorn replied speaking honestly about his home.

Devin nodded, "Well hopefully I will get to know it as well as you do soon enough." She already had high opinion of the ship and crew but hearing the Gorn CMO saying that the ship had a bigger heart was definitely going in the right direction of making her feel glad about being a part of the crew. Some Doctor's only cared about the body of the crew but this one seemed to have a more involved belief in the ship to. That spoke volumes about the possibility of a pretty close knit crew regardless of the ship's actually size. Or maybe he was just proud of the ship as his home which wasn't a bad thing either.

" I'm sssure you will." The Gorn said as the results began to come through. " If you don't mind me asking why your hair isss that colour?" He inquired politly

Devin laughed softly, "I dyed it blue, I was born and raised on Andor and since I will never have blue skin, I show my pride by dying my hair, I sometimes pick other colors or let it go back to my natural hue but as long as I keep it pulled back most don't seem to mind."

The Gorn nodded. " Underssstandable. The Andorian'sss are a proud people."

Devin grinned, "I think every species has it's pride points." She had been raised in an Andorian family but they had shown her as much as they where able about being human and had encouraged her talking with others in school and beyond. She liked to think she got on well with most but she knew there had been times she had come off as aloof or something else.

" Indeed. " The Gorn replied as a beep came from the computer. " Okay looksss like everything'sss okay. I sssee no reason not to declare you fit for duty."

Devin grinned, "Great, Thank you Doctor Sthilg, I will see you around the ship perhaps?" She added as she hopped off of the bio-bed.

" I'll sssee you around." he said handing her a copy of the medical scan.

Devin accepted the copy of the scan gave him another smile and headed out of the Sickbay. Now she needed to check in with the counseling department after that should be clear to actually get to work...
