Mission: MISSION 0 - History Speaks
Location: Alicia & Savar's Quarters
Timeline: After Outbreak
1030 words - 2.1 OF Standard Post Measure

Alicia and Savar were out of isolation and relaxing in their quarters. Alicia had been treated for having the flu and was now feeling much better. They were seated on the couch. Savar had placed a blanket over Alicia as he didn't want her to suffer a relapse. They were sharing a bowl of popcorn (butter flavored). Each also had a glass of their favorite drink. For Alicia was ice tea and for Savar it was fruit juice.

"Alicia, are you sure you want to start a family? Might it not be too much for you with the addition of you being chief counselor? I have no desire to see you overburdened and over stressed." Savar asked his wife.

“Having a family is not a burden Imzadi” Alicia smiled warmly. “I’ve always wanted to have a baby, and to be a mother.” She paused for a moment. “My last pregnancy ended in disaster, the shock of losing Kal caused a miscarriage so to have a chance means so much to me!”

Savar nodded as Alicia spoke of being a mother. "I understand your desire Alicia and I believe, correction I know you would be and excellent and loving mother. My concern is you my wife. I do not wish to put you at risk. I could not stand if something happened to you."

Alicia gave her husband a cuddle. “You’re not going to lose me Savar, it was the shock and trauma of loss that caused my problem before, I’m perfectly healthy and I’d like nothing more to provide you with a son or daughter.”

He dropped an arm around her." Alicia, I am glad to hear you say that. However can you blame me for feeling as I do? I would very much like to start a family. But not at the chance of putting you at risk Alicia."

“Stop worrying” Alicia smiled as she turned and looked into Savar’s eyes. “I want to have a baby Savar, the sooner the better.” She smiled warmly.

"Yes, my love. I shall endeavor to do that. However this is a case of it being easier said than done. Especially as I love you so much." Savar replied honestly.

“What is it that makes you so worried?” Alicia gave her husband a concerned look. “I’m not ill and there’s no reason why having a baby would make me ill, apart from morning sickness of course.”

"Not worried Alicia. Concerned." Savar clarified. "I just do not want anything to happen to you." He admitted.

“I can only reassure you so many times Imzadi” Alicia offered a smile but she was starting to wonder if Savar would change his mind. “What would put your mind at rest?”

"My love. I am at ease. I am just overly protective of you. I do apologize. This is new ground for me." He explained. "The undiscovered country if you will."

“Then how’s about we make it more ... discovered” Alicia grinned as she motioned towards the bedroom door. “That’s if you really want to?”

Savar didn't answer her. He simply stood and extended a hand to Alicia. "A most excellent idea Alicia. Let us discover it together."

Taking her husband’s hand Alicia walked with Savar, as they reached the bed she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him passionately.

He looked deep into her eyes. Alicia had captured not only his heart but they were soulmates as well. "I love you very much Alicia. I apologize for not being more demonstrative but it does not lessen my love for you."

“You don’t have to demonstrate your love for me Imzadi” Alicia smiled as she looked into Savar’s eyes. “I feel your love every day through our bond, it’s a feeling I would be lost without.”

"I do love you Alicia. Very much. I would be lost without your love and support." Savar replied with emotion.

“Well I’m not going anywhere” she smiled as she pulled Savar down onto the bed with her. “Now let’s enjoy starting our family.”

"A most excellent idea Alicia." Savar replied as he kissed her tenderly.

Little did either know that their family planning was unnecessary, for Alicia was already pregnant.

Savar held his wife tenderly as they enjoyed each other's company. This was the best of all worlds.

~ Sometime later ~

Alicia lay contentedly in her husband’s arms, their love making had been gentle and tender taking their time to relax and enjoy their time together. “So tell me Imzadi, what would you like? A son or a daughter?”

"A healthy child Alicia is what I want. Whether a boy or girl. does not matter. I will love it." Savar answered simply.

“I was hoping you’d say that” Alicia smiled warmly. “I feel the same, as long as our baby is healthy that is what’s important.”

"But of course Alicia. That is how it should be."

Alicia ran her fingers over her husband’s chest. “I can’t wait to be a mother, I’ve always wanted to have children.” She smiled contentedly. “I guess now we wait and see if this night will bring us the child we both want.”

"Yes. we will." Savar agreed. "However right now we can still lie together and dream and plan for our child."

Alicia nodded and reached for the sheet pulling it around them as she made herself comfortable and ready for sleep in the arms of the man who meant so much to her.

Savar's arm fell across Alicia's waist as they lay together. He loved her very much. Her joy and love for him and life in general was a pleasure to behold and be a part of. He would be lost without her. His arm tightened around her a sign of his protectiveness and love for her. Alicia was not only his wife but soul mate. To lose her would mean losing a part of him and that was too terrible a thought to consider. So he thought of how fulfilling his life was with Alicia as he drifted off to sleep.
