Alicia was sitting on the biobed wishing quarantine would hurry up and be over with, not that she was complaining she did have Savar to share her quarantine area with but only because she gave the Sickbay staff no choice by barging her way in. She had to admit was starting to feel stuffed up, her sinuses were giving her a headache which she tried to ignore but she couldn’t ignore it when she started sneezing and her nose started to run too.

One of the junior Sickbay staff paused to look as he saw Alicia sneezing, “Excuse me Counsellor” he paused outside the cell. “Are you feeling unwell?”

“A little blocked up and I’ve got a headache” she nodded as she looked at Savar then back at the young man. “I’d appreciate some tissues if you could transport some in.

The young man nodded and had her tissues sent in before heading off to find Doctor Sthilg.

Alicia looked to Savar. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have pushed my way in here with you! If I’m infected with something then you’ll be infected too!” She shook her head as she lay down on the biobed, she was starting to feel pretty rough no doubt because her body wasn’t used to whatever it was she’d picked up.

"Nonsense Alicia . I am right where I want to be and more importantly who I wish to be with. Now please rest and try not to over exert yourself." Savar replied, concern in his eyes for his wife's well being.

Alicia nodded and pulled over one of the blankets that had been left for each of them if they wanted one.

Meanwhile the junior medic approached Sthilg. “Excuse me Doctor, I’m concerned about Counsellor Salik She’s showing signs of being unwell.”

Savar had moved closer to Alicia, placed another blanket atop her and felt her forehead. She was definitely warm with a fever. "Are the blankets helping Alicia? Do you still feel chilled?"

Alicia offered a smile. “It’s just about right, thank you Imzadi.” She couldn’t help but think about the what ifs, no doubt she’d find out what was wrong with her soon enough.

Savar nodded and placed his hand atop hers. "Rest. The doctor will be here shortly."

Said, doctor stepped through the door a holo shield buzzing around him. " Hello, there you two. I hear you have a ssspot of bother." He said reassuringly as he pulled his scanner out to begin his work.

Alicia gave Savar a concerned look at Sthilg ran his scans, She was worried that whatever she had would infect Savar too.

The gorn eyes widened as the data began to come in. " Well thisss is ssstrange. You appear to be having a very bad cassse of influenza. Have you been around anyone who may be infected?" He asked calmly.

“No one that I can think of” Alicia shook her head as she kept warm under the blanket. “We did go into a bar whilst on the surface. Not that we were there long. I was ... with Heather most of the time.”

"Perhaps someone at the bar was already infect with influenza Alicia. Is that not possible Doctor?" Savar asked the CMO.

" Very possssible. A pity, if we knew who it had come from it, could have helped us with dealing with it. I'll need to take a ssswab from both of you to run through the ssscannersss." The gorn explained.

"Of course Doctor. Perfectly logical." Savar replied.

Alicia nodded as she covered her mouth and nose feeling the need to sneeze. “That’s fine by me doctor.” At least she knew she didn’t have the plague or anything else as dangerous, the flu was curable in the modern age but she’d still have to endure some symptoms.

" The plague would be the last thing we need. " The gorn said as he drew a swab from his medical kit. " Sssay ahhhhh." he said calmly.

Savar watched as the gorn CMO prepared to get a culture from Alicia. It would determine exactly what the nature of her illness was.

Alicia did as Sthilg asked and opened her mouth for him to take a swab. Now she was covered in blankets she was starting to sweat, one minute she was hot and the next she was cold and she was hating being ill. “I never did like being ill” she offered Savar the best smile she could muster.

It took the skillful gorn less than ten seconds to collect his sample and drop it into a storage container. " Well done. I'll need to take a ssswab from you as well commander." He said turning to Savar.

Of course Doctor. That is only logical." Savar replied as he opened his mouth to allow the CMO to get a swab.

Which the gorn quickly managed to get. " Okay, I'll get thessse up to the medicle lab. I'll bring you back sssomething that should help with the sssymptomsss."

Alicia nodded. “Thank you Doctor” She turned to look at Savar as she cosied back up under the blanket he’d put over her. “I hate this!”

Savar nodded. "It is an inconvenience Alicia. However with the doctor's knowledge and help, you will soon be well and we will be back in our quarters. Where we can relax properly."

Alicia nodded. “I’ll look forward to it. You know how much I enjoy being home with you Imzadi and it’ll give us more time to talk.”

The gorn nodded as he stepped out into the decontamination chamber placing the samples in the tray that would send them up the ships bio labs for study. Hopefuly this woudn't take long, but he didn't want to risk a case of influenza messing up his ship.

For now all Alicia and Savar could do was wait.
