Mission: SEASON 4: Episode 1: Know Thy Self!
Location: USS Elysium, Exterior
Timeline: MD1: 1730 Hrs
785 words - 1.6 OF Standard Post Measure

Jessica lead the group who were tethered to each other with a cargo crate containing weapons and medkits behind them. "Yes that's it, step by step." Jess noted. "Remember... There is no up or down out here. Focus only on what you need to focus on." She kept the suit's coms low.

"Now... we have to approach the station out of the line of sight from either our ship nor their ship. This is going to be tough. We can't let them see our approach. I'm going to target the underside of that base's habitat ring and look for a maintenance hatch on the station core. You with me? One more thing, turn off your suit lights."

Fernando looked over at Heather. "Don't worry love. I will be right next to you. You will be fine."

Heather nodded. “I know you will Fernando. I’ll do this and I’ll make it!”

Fernando smiled, "I know you can Heather, no doubt in my mind,:

Jess spoke. "Now, there's something you all need to know about spacewalking. And I tell my cadets this; Sir Issac Newton is the meanest son of a bitch in space. That means wherever you thrust, nothing will stop you from going that direction. Now I've synced your thrusters with my suit so wherever I go, you'll go. Also we don't want to make contact with the base too fast, or the laws of motion will kick our asses and we'll bounce off and go drifting some odd direction. Copy?"

Fernando knew Jess meant well and that she wanted them to all make it safely. "Commander, forgive me but enough is enough. Lets just do this and get on with it."

"Fernando. You're at the rear. Watch the storage crate. One at a time, you're going to disengage your magnetic clamps on your boots. I'll go first, and when I say your name. Release and jump." Jess looked towards the station then released and pushed off the Hull.

"Heather!!"

Heather looked at her husband before nodding and releasing her clamps, jumping free she started to float hoping the plan would go like clockwork.

"Fernando!!

As his name was called, Fernado released his magnetic boot clamps and was suddenly floating. He was a few feet behind Heather who was doing fine. As they floated towards the station an old song he had heard on a movie vid entered his mind and softly sang a few words. "Off we go into the wild blue yonder, Climbing high into the sun;"

"Man'darr"

Man'darr disengaged the magnetic boot as his massive form slowly lifted up from the surface of the Elysium. He took several deep breaths as he recalled his Zero-G Training that all Marines received and were required to pass, though he still didn't like it.

Jess thrusted short bursts towards the station and it crept up slowly.

Jess thrusted towards the station core, keeping her team away from any viewports or windows. The computer began to calculate distance 'Six Hundred Meters.'

'Five Hundred Meters'

Jess adjusted the speed, she wanted to gently touch the hull It would be the preferable way to do it. But she suddenly altered the trajectory into a blind spot of the base when she saw a figure near a viewport. It looked like the figure had passed the viewport, but she had to be sure they weren't detected.

'Four hundred meters.' The computer announced.

“Did you see that?” Heather too had seen the figure in the viewport. “Let’s hope whoever that was didn’t see us coming!”

"I moved us into the starfield to keep him from making us out." Jess waited and it looked like the figure shrugged an walked away calmly." She then thrusted forward again, Moving under the Habitat Module. '200 Meters to Contact.' The Computer sounded.

"Here we go!" Heather wasn't looking forward to the landing.

"One hundred meters." Jess began to slow their velocity as they neared the station's hull. Nineteen, Eighteen, Seventeen. The Countdown contined and Jess reached her hand out. "Five, Four. Three." Jess then grabbed the hull and magnetized onto it. "Alright, one by one. Magnetize. I think that's an access hatch.

Finally." Fernando muttered as they made contact with the station. Now they could get on with the rest of the mission. "Heather, are you alright love?"

Heather had landed a little roughly almost bouncing off though fortunately she hadn't. "I'm okay!" Came her response to Fernando's question. "Rough landing!" She magnetised her boots glad to be attached.

Jess spoke. "Stick with the Commander and you'll make it, Now lets get this hatch open. I want to come up with a plan to free our people.
