Making her way to Savar’s Office Alicia hoped to catch him at a quiet moment, it all depended on whether he had any counselling sessions arranged. As she arrived she checked his schedule on the computer to make sure she wouldn’t be interrupting him, seeing he was free for a few more minutes she headed into the office.
“Knock, knock” She smiled warmly. “Can we talk? There’s something I have to show you.” She held up the memory chip. “I’d like you to meet your daughter.”
"Please come in Alicia, this is a most unexpected surprise. IS everything alright? Savar asked before it registered what Alicia had said. "My daughter?" He repeated.
Alicia nodded. “Yes, our daughter! The bump here.” She motioned to her stomach as she walked across to his computer and input the chip. “I went to see my father for my six month check up, it seems our daughter is pretty special.” She brought up the image Sthilg had showed her. “She has two hearts!”
"I am very much aware of what your bump represents Alicia.." Savar answered as she put the chip into his computer. He stared at the image as it came up on the computer. "Fascinating." He muttered as he took in the image. He turned and looked at Alicia, "Simply fascinating, she truly is special."
Alicia nodded. “She has one heart like mine and one like yours, truly a unique hybrid. The downside being is the extra strength or power she’s drawing is pushing up my blood pressure.” She pulled her hair back to show her monitor. “I’m on monitoring and light duties only.”
To anyone looking at Savar is expression never changed as Alicia told him the news However she would see the concern in his eyes. "What can I do to help you Alicia? he asked as he stood and guided her to the sofa to sit down. "Rest." He ordered.
Alicia smiled. “Savar you are one of the most caring men I’ve ever met. You don’t need to worry, my father has some teas prescribed that may bring down my blood pressure, if they don’t then I’ll be put on medication.”
"Correction Alicia. I do need to worry. While I have every confidence in the doctor and his abilities. You are my wife and I wish nothing to happen to you or our daughter." He answered stubbornly.
“Then I will ensure that I don’t overexert myself or do anything that I shouldn’t between now and when our daughter is born.” Alicia smiled warmly. “Speaking of which, we haven’t chosen any names. Do you have any names you like?”
"That is acceptable Alicia. Please make sure that you do." Savar answered before pausing to think on her question. "I do. Jessica, Amanda, T'Kar, T'Nara, T'Leia, Peyton and in addition a name that has just occurred to me given the news of her two hearts, Janan. It means one with a soulful heart."
Alicia smiled. “I like that one and I also like T’Leia, maybe we could call her T’Leia Janan Salik?”
"That is a most logical suggestion Alicia. I agree with it. Unless of course you have names you are partial to." Savar added not wishing to have Alicia feel left out. This was THEIR daughter after all and if Alicia had names she liked she should say so.
“No, I like T’Leia it’s a wonderful name for our daughter.” She stifled a yawn. “Sorry, it’s pretty tiring carrying this bump around.”
"As along as you are agreeable to the name Alicia." Savar answered as he rose from his chair and moved to her where he promptly picked up her legs and placed them on the couch. "Now you may rest comfortably Alicia."
“I’ll be in your way here Savar, you still have appointments to attend to.” She gave him a smile nonetheless. “If I’m resting here then you can use my office.”
" You are not in my way Alicia. I do not have any appointments at the moment nor for the next hour. So you may rest here unburden with the thought of disturbing me. Now rest our daughter needs to rest as well." Savar added .
“That is ... logical, as always Imzadi.” Alicia smiled warmly as she rested her head on a cushion. She hadn’t realised just how tired she truly was but she was soon sleeping peacefully.
Savar looked at Alicia now sleeping peacefully on the couch. A ghost of a smile appeared on his face. "I am nothing if not logical." He muttered to himself as he got back to reviewing the PaDDS containing case files of various patients as well as his recommendations and treatment for each.
