Victor and Tonya were recalibrating new tricorders which came in. Victor kept giving her smile as he concentrated on the task.

Tonya liked the attention Victor showed her and she was getting less nervous now. "This sure is a tedious task but we must do this."

"Well it should always be part of standard operating procedures to do this," Victor answers. He wanted to say his Tonya made it a habit but he kept quiet. "I like to know who tried to calibrate them last."

"Person is dead," Tonya sighs. "He tried to do this by himself. This should always be done by two Engineers."

"Agreed," Victor says as he picks up his last one. "Some ships have computers to do this but my experience has shown me that computers make errors doing it. They can not feel so therefore they can not tell if it was done right."

"I know what you mean," Tonya smiles. "This one I am holding, it has a slight vibration to it. When I compare it to the others, it is not taking accurate quantum readings. These ones we are doing, these were put on the shelves and probably place on a to do list."

"Well they were treated like lost sheep," Victor says, "But now they are found."

Tonya caught a deep breath. One of her exes use to say that. "Victor, do you ever think about the other universe. All your friendships were erased. You basically have to start over and some friends will never know who you are."

"I can not dwell upon that," Victor sighs. "I have my health and my daughter plus you are here."

"But I am not your Tonya," she says looking at him. "I can tell subconsciously you think I am but I am not. Now my sister for some Quantum reason has memories of her other self which includes your two trysts."

"Yes but she is dating my father," Victor replies. "You are not my Tonya but I hope love flourishes between us." He places the last tricorder down. "There is no rush and I am a patient man. I do see things from your perspective. All of a sudden, a man comes into your life that knows you intimately and you have a daughter with him."

She places her last one down. "Victor, you have a daughter from the other Tonya. Plus you have a son with my sister's Quantum double. I do like you Victor and I admire you plus you are do incredibly handsome. Not to get your hopes up but I do feel love for you. One thing I do know, I do know what love is. We are just going to have to see if that love can grow. I do sense worry in you."

"Worry is there because the other Tonya died because she was courageous," Victor breathes out. "She was usually up front with her phaser because she was never afraid."

Tonya grins. "I am not always the first one in plus there some things that I am afraid of Victor. I fear one day I may be hopeless and I would not be able to defend myself. But honestly, having you around makes me less afraid. Maybe that is why your Tonya died. She felt Security with you, so she let her guard down. That being said, I will keep that in mind."

"Indeed," Victor answers with a sigh of relief. "Well it is fifteen minutes before the meeting. Thank you for the talk and help."

"You are welcome," Tonya smiles as she whispers something into his ear."

Victor winks at her as the two of them made their ways to the meeting.
