Alicia arrived home with Connor after her shortened day of duties, now she was officially on maternity leave she was finding it strange having more time on her hands. It was nice to have more time bonding with Connor, though as far as he was concerned he’d been with his mother all along.

She was grateful he hadn’t been old enough to know the mirror version of herself, not that the mirror Alicia seemed as bad as some of the other mirror versions of the crew. She did what she’d had to do to give herself a good quality of life even if it had been as the woman of Captain Taylor.

Alicia had to wonder if they’d ever have the misfortune of meeting any survivors of that mirror universe again, she certainly hoped not! Her mirror version was no doubtedly dead, she wouldn’t have handed over her son so easily unless she’d been expecting to meet an untimely end. That, and wanting her son to have a better life.

Alicia smiled as she looked at Connor who was busy babbling away to himself as he played with his favourite toys in his playpen, he was a happy little soul. She was grateful Gary had accepted him so easily, it couldn’t have been easy for him he was a father to a son, that in this universe, would never have been conceived in the first place.

As for Savar, he’d accepted Connor like the loving man he was. She was proud to call herself his wife, and she was looking forward to the birth of their daughter even if the thought scared her. Tate has helped no end with her counselling session during the last prenatal appointment, it had made Alicia feel more assured about giving birth.

Walking across to the replicator she replicated a platter of healthy foods, some fruit, a mixed salad, and a nice cold glass of milk. Connor would be wanting his lunch soon as well so she wanted to make sure she’d eaten well ahead of him. Now he was on solids Connor’s lunchtime took longer than usual, though it was fun pretending to fly little spoonfuls of food into Connor’s mouth. All good practice for when they had another little mouth to feed.

Alicia grinned as there was a quack, quack noise from the playpen, Connor loved his little ducky toys. Moving across she sat on a the chair next to the playpen and picked up his ducky, singing his favourite song.

Five little ducks went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said, "Quack, quack, quack, quack"
But only four little ducks came back

One, two, three, four

Four little ducks went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said, "Quack, quack, quack, quack"
But only three little ducks came back

One, two, three

Three little ducks went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said, "Quack, quack, quack, quack"
But only two little ducks came back

One, two

Two little ducks went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said, "Quack, quack, quack, quack"
But only one little duck came back

One

One little duck went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said, "Quack, quack, quack, quack"
But none of the five little ducks came back
Sad mother duck went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said, "Quack, quack, quack, quack"
And all of five little ducks came back
Five little ducks went out to play
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said, "Quack, quack, quack, quack"
And all of the five little ducks came back!

Alicia grinned as she handed back the ducky before collecting her tray of food and starting to eat.
