Mission:
MISSION 0 - History Speaks
Location: USS Elysium, Lieutenant Whavi's quarters
Timeline: Friday, 1745 hours (5 weeks following Quell'ish mission)
3025 words - 6.1 OF Standard Post Measure
David was tired. It was time for his bi-annual resting. He had already requested time off for the next week, as he would need the time to both ready himself for the sleep cycle and then recover from it. He had briefly discussed the situation with Baeryn, and had asked if he could rest in her quarters. She had told him that she would be glad to help him in this matter.
So, with his old bedroll under one arm, and a handful of wild flowers, that he just picked from the ship's arboretum, in the other hand, he reached the quarters that he was quickly becoming quite familiar with. Reaching up, he pressed the doorbell control.
"Come in!" Baeryn said from inside. The doors opened with a swoosh as Baeryn headed for the door.
The doors slipped open and David walked in, smiling his new smile when he saw Baeryn. He was smiling more everyday now, thanks to her being in his life now. "Hello beautiful." He raised his hand with the flowers in protest. "Now, is it really a nickname if I think you are the most beautiful creature in the galaxy?"
Seeing both David’s hands full Baeryn took full advantage of the situation, wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling herself up to kiss him. Pulling back only slightly, nose to nose, she said, “I don’t care how old you tell me you are, there’s no way you’ve seen the whole galaxy, also did you just refer to me as a creature?!” She gave him a look of false offense.
Seeing David was what she looked forward to most everyday. The days they were both too busy to see one another seemed to be the longest most grueling days. When David had asked to sleep in her quarters for the week she was far more excited about it then she should have been. Even given he would be ‘actually’ sleeping.
David was surprised by the kiss. Well, more the strength of it. Smiling and chuckling softly, he didayed his near-perfect teeth. "Well, I've seen a good portion of it. And yes, we are all creatures, Baeryn. Whether you're huminoid, avianoid, horta or tribble. "And in my experience, young lady, you certainly are the most beautiful."
“When I think of a creature I think of something.... intimidating, scary.” With a brisk rise of those auburn eyebrows she added, “Do I frighten you Corporal?” A sultry look flashed in her eyes.
David smiled, enjoying the way Baeryn felt about him. He certainly couldn't get enough of her. Unfortunately, he didn't have the energy right now. "Baeryn, I love you. I wish that I had the energy to have fun. But now, I need to get ready to sleep. And there's still alot of prep to do."
Baeryn frowned, before pulling away from David she leaned onto the tips of her toes and kissed his cheek. “I’m sorry, I got carried away. Here let me take those.” Taking the flowers from him she went about to find a vase, which she now kept readily available knowing David. From the other room she shouted, “What preparations need to be done? And how exactly is this going to go? Your just going to be.... asleep for a few days?”
David smiled warmly when Baeryn kissed him so sweetly. He watched her move about her space and smiled again. She was so full of life, of love. He was very lucky to be a part of her world.
Moving deeper into her quarters, he replied. "Well, first, I need to set this up." He indicated his bedroll. "Are you sure you want it next to your bed? It will take up a bit of space?"
"Wherever you feel most comfortable placing it is fine." Baeryn shrugged coming back into the room, having placed the flowers he brought next to the bed. "What exactly will be my part? Stand guard with a phaser?" She joked hoping David would find some humor in the jest.
David chuckled. He so loved her sense of humor. It made him feel very comfortable around her, even without the bonding. "Well," he said with a yawn. "I will need you to stand Felkora, or sentry me while I am defenseless. As i started to explain in my earlier message, I won't be simply sleeping. I, uh.." He took a breath, hoping she wouldn't react poorly with the next bit of information. "I'll be in a cocoon."
Immediately Baeryn clamped her teeth down on her bottom lip, snorting as she attempted to hold in her laughter. There was nothing David could tell her that would change how she felt about him, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t an easy target for her antics.
“Are you.... going to re-emerge with beautiful butterfly wings?” Then she lost all control and starting roaring with laughter.
David gave Baeryn a look and a smirk. "Only if you give me a pair." Putting the bedroll down, he moved to the couch and dropped down onto it, clearly exhausted. "Come here," he beckoned weakly.
Concern quickly replaced the humorous smile Baeryn had worn a few seconds prior. David's fatigued state worried her and she rushed to his him. Kneeling in front of him she apologized, "I'm sorry I got carried away." She brought his hand to her lips and kissed his knuckles. "What do you need me to do? How can I help?"
With his free hand, David reached up and gently held Baeryn's head. "I..I don't have long, Baeryn," his voice quiet. "I put an order to be..to be replicated here." He yawned. "There should be a sheet of paper in the order that tells you how the items should be positioned. Please...please follow the instructions to....to the letter...." He seemed to be getting weaker as he spoke.
"Please....please lay out the bed roll where you can best protect....protect me."
Nodding that she understood, Baeryn stood and made quick work of grabbing the bedroll to position it in the bedroom. Adjacent to the side of the bed she slept on. Then returning to David she gently helped him to his feet and started leading him into the other room.
As David moved, he began to disrobe. By the time they reached where Baeryn had positioned the bedroll, he was slipping out of his underware. Slowly, he lowered himself down onto the bedroll. Finally down, he rolled over onto his back and crossed his hands over his chest. "Deltrata," he said in his native tongue.
At the foot and head of the roll, four thin wires folded up, to stand upright on each corner. A thin yellow beam connected to each. Suddenly, David's body levitayed a few inches above the deck. Looking over at Baeryn, he said, "I love you." He then closed his eyes and fibers began to spin around him, over and over again, completely covering and insulating him. In a matter of moments, the cocoon was fully formed and nearly hardened.
As the fibers began knitting together around David, Baeryn stood stunned. Never in her 32 years had she ever seen something so breathtakingly beautiful before. The fibers almost seemed to glitter in the artificial light. Without taking her eyes from the cocoon Baeryn took the few steps to the bed. A feeling of pride starting budding in her chest, accompanied by a possessive and protective feeling.
After what may have been an hour Baeryn snapped up realizing that she had to prepare the items she was yet to have replicated. Rushing back out into the other room she started to prepare the items David had sent instructions for. The process fortunately didn’t take much time at all.
She reentered the bedroom with a wooden box that she set on the dresser. From the box she pulled out four thick candles. Turning them over in her hands before kneeling down to place each once at the four different points around the bedroll. There was another item in the box, a marble statue of a woman looking down, like she’s watching you from above. It reminded her of the goddess statue Thallida she still kept in the other room. Carefully Baeryn set this statue on the night stand. Then, satisfied that she had completed his instructions correctly she took up a spot on the bed laying in her side tucking her left arm under her head like a pillow. Already she could see the difference in the shell of the cocoon, it looked stronger. Reaching out her right hand she ran two fingers across the fibers, so lightly she wasn’t even sure she had actually touched it.
Inside the cocoon, David's body had already started to break down to its subatomic parts. While he wasn't awake for this, he was aware of everything around him. He had felt Baeryn's energy as she had watched in fascination of the cocoon formation. Then her energy turned a bit frantic and moved around the space. Finally, she was next to him again and her energy seemed calm, calmer than it had been since he knew her.
Reaching out with his own energies, he gently wrapped them around hers, loving her as much as he could. This woman was the one true bondmate for him. He knew this knew with zero doubt. He would never leave her. He would never stop loving her.
In her relaxed state Baeryn had let her own defenses down, she started to pick up feelings that mirrored hers but, weren't hers. Her senses were tingling and she felt like she was being embraced in a hug. The feeling was coming from the cocoon, she was sure of it. How odd she thought, she was sure the feelings were David's. She hadn't expected that she would be able to read David in this state, she had become so accustomed to the quietness that surrounded him. She smiled, sending out her own feelings in hopes that he could sense them to.
Two days later the cocoon was just as much a staple of her quarters as any other object, but by far the most important. Baeryn kept busy working from the consul in her quarters, never leaving, never too far from the cocoon. Her assistant had come to see her a number of times for report approvals and to keep her fully aware of all that was taking place in Ops in her absence. Often Baeryn would sing, it had started off as a humming but quickly escalading into ballads. It was the first time in years Baeryn had sung, even in the privacy of her own quarters. During one of her more favorite songs there was a shift in the energies of the cocoon. Worried she ran to the bedroom but stopped at the threshold.
The cocoon had changed color. It slowly shifted from the honey yellow ti a more burnt orange. Then, as it began to lower to the deck, it started to slowly vaporize.
Finally, after a few moments, the four wires folded back into the bedroll, leaving David laying there, nude and oily. After a moment of absolute silence, his eyes popped open and he inhaled deeply, then rolled on his side and began to cough, taking in more air after each spasm.
"David!" Baeryn cried out as she rushed to his side, she tried to grab him as he spasmed but couldn't get a tight hold on him, her hands slipping over his oil coated skin. She hadn't expected his skin to be ice cold. Snatching a blanket from the bed she draped his over him, rubbing her hand down his back to comfort him as he gained control of his breathing.
After a few momenrs, David finally started to calm. "I...I'm okay, Baeryn." His voice was still weak, but not as much as before. Slowly, he started to sit up. He shivered as he moved. "N-need... need to g-get warm!"
“Computer, initiate the shower system and raise the temperature by 10 degrees.” Hooking her arm under David’s she slowly brought him to his feet. She wouldn’t remove the blanket until they were in the bathroom. His steps were slow but surprisingly steady. When they finally reached the bathroom they were greeted by a giant cloud of steam.
Baeryn pulled the blanket from David but refused to release her hold on him as they both stepped into the shower. She hadn’t bothered to remove any of her clothing, not wanting to waste the time to do so. Gently she began rubbing soap in David’s hair to remove the oil he was covered in from head to toe.
David allowed Baeryn to guide him to her shower. As the entered, he inhaled deeply, taking the warm air into his rebuilt lungs. As they entered the shower, a short deck slid out from the wall and David carefully lowered himself down on it.
For the first few minutes, he allowed Baeryn to bathe him. The sensation warmed his core. Finally, he looked up into her beautiful face, gave her a weak smile and said. "You do look good wet. I should get you in this shower more often."
Baeryn chuckled as her fingers still worked to lather the soap in David's hair. It was a surprise to her at how much she had missed touching him. She could feel he was close by the last couple days but it wasn't the same as touching him physically. "I look even better wet without my clothes on." She looked down to her drenched attire. The comfortable lounge clothes hung tightly against her when wet, outlining all the curves of her body.
Slowly, carefully, David reached up and ran his hands over Baeryn's body. Though he was still weak, his fingers moved over her drenched clothes covered form as if it had been a lifetime since they had touched. Looking up into her eyes as she rinsed the soap from his hair, he spoke to her. "Take off your clothes. I want to see you, feel you."
Baeryn paused, looking down at David, the deck he sat on brought his face to her stomach. Part of her knew she should insist on getting him cleaned up and then into bed, but the part of her that burst into an inferno of passion had her pulling her top over her head before she could give it a second thought. She was bare underneath, her nipples already standing at attention. She took her time with the button on her pants, they wouldn't be as easy to remove but her eyes never left David's as she took them off. Her obsidian eyes seemed to darken with a hunger only David could initiate.
Looking over every square centimeter of Baeryn's body, David felt as if he had never seen her before. Once she was completely nude, David sat back. "Come here," he said quietly. His body was screaming for hers.
A soft pink tint started to spread across her cheeks. Baeryn wasn’t normally bashful, only when he looked at her the way he was now. With such a desire she had never seen in a partner before, he truly made her feel beautiful, sexy and wanted. Gently she closed the gap between them. At first she brushed her knuckles softly down the side of his face, she could tell the subtle changes in his skin especially around his eyes. Then, bracing her left hand on his shoulder she climbed on top of him, straddling him.
Looking at Baeryn, feeling the connection that he felt with her, David knew, with a doubt, that she would be the last woman that he would ever love for the rest of his life. In all the records of an Outworlder possessing an El Aurian soul, there was only two examples of the El Aurian finding a bondmate twice in their long lives. While David hoped he could be that lucky, it was more that, even if he did, she wouldn't be Baeryn Whavi. This woman, he swore to himself then and there, would be the last that he would ever be intimate with again. That was how much he loved her.
David closed his eyes and tilted his head towards her soft knuckles as they traced lines down his face. Opening his arms, he reached out and gently pulled her towards him as she lowered her perfect body down onto his. As his manhood entered her, he wrapped his arms around her, never wanting to let go. Looking up into her deep black eyes, he found his soul opening up to her. He could actually see their energies interweaving without closing his eyes now. Though he had said it before, as they began to make love, he said again, "I love you, Baeryn Whavi."
Baeryn locked eyes with David as his length slid into her. Controlling the energies around her was new to her and she was uncertain if she had any effect on them as sent David her inner most feelings for him. She couldn't find the courage to say the words but maybe she could show how she felt. She willed it with all her might for him to read it as a moan escaped her lips, the ecstasy of him inside her causing her back to arch, to pull him in deeper. "I missed you." She said in-between moans, she knew it was only a matter of moments before David had her screaming. She didn't deserve him and she knew it, the thought had her holding him even tighter, never letting him leave her.
Though he couldn't read her thpughts, David's own heightened senses could read her energy pouring into him. As their lovemaking increased, he sent his own energies into her. There was nothing that he wouldn't do for this woman. He willingly gave his soul over to her, now and forever.
