Mission: Season 5: Episode 2: Operation Save Humanity
Location: USS Elysium, Marine County, firing range
Timeline: MD 3, 1007 hours
2495 words - 5 OF Standard Post Measure

Loud techno music blasted David's ears from the small ear buds he was currently wearing. The music was certainly dated, as it was of a band that had been long dead now. The band was called, Lords of Acid. They were a Belgian electronic techno band that was popular in the early 1990's. Unfortunately, they did not survive the Eugenics War, as Belgium had been near totally nuked by the pro-Eugenics forces.

David had been able to get a copy of their second album, titled Voodoo U. He found the music very stimulating, and had started using it as his part of his workout soundtrack. After the Borg destroyed his homeworld, however, it was one of the albums that he played when he was feeling angry with the universe around him. This week, he was definitely feeling that way. Not only was this week the anniversary of the Borg attack, it was also the birthdate of his father. Because of these facts, he was always quite morose this week.

Loading another round of armor piercing, high velocity rounds into Betty, an actual Barrett. 50 caliber sniper rifle that dated back to the Eugenics War, he sighted down the long, heavy barrel. Seeing his target through the power scope, he took aim and gently squeezed the trigger.

BOOM!!

BOOM!!

BOOM!!

David had told Baeryn where he was planning to be today, she hadn't planned to seek him out but she had found it near impossible to focus today. Her mind was constantly drifting to David, she took it as a sign, from who or what she didn't dwell. To satisfy her mind she decided just to check in with him, she missed him always, so it wasnt exactly a fib when she told him that was the reason she came looking for him, in the middle of a work day. Not a fib at all.

The firing range was intimidating, far more then any other section of marine county. She probably shouldn't be there but until she was asked to leave she wasn't going anywhere.

Moses saw Baeryn enter the range. He knew she was here to see his friend, but also knew that David wasn’t in the best of moods. Moving over to greet her, he said, talking ver the loud rifle fire. “Hey, Red.” BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Baeryn didn't bother shouting so she just mouthed 'Hello' and waved at Moses. She was still yet to see where David was.

Moses moved closer and spoke into Baeryn’s ear. “He’s down at the far end, using that beast of his, just be careful, Red. He’s in a bad mood today.”

Looking up at Moses after assuming she heard him correctly her auburn brows furrowed. Knowing Moses wasn't going to give her much information other then that she nodded tightly and set down the towards the end. Figured it was were the loudest booms were originating. When she caught sight of him she slowed.

David's demeanor was different, dark almost, no clouded? Like the sky over earth just before it rains. She stood back, crossing her arms and leaning against a wall. She knew David could see her motion in his peripherals and waited.

BOOM

BOOM

BOOM

BOOM

BOOM

David ejected the empty magazine and was about to grab the next filled one, when he saw the one point of true happiness in his life. Making sure his rifle was on safe and unloaded, he lowered the buttstock to the deck and climbed up onto his feet. Moving over to where she was standing, he wrapped his arms loosely around her hips, interlocking his fingers together at the small of her back. Looking down into her beautiful obsidian eyes. His eyes were filled with heartache, their usual sparkling cerulean now a near dull grey. "Hey you," he said sadly.

Baeryn reached up and gently placed both hands on either side of David’s face. The thumb of her right hand absentmindedly caressing his cheek bone. She could see so much sadness in his eyes and expression. She never wanted to see David like this and knew she would do anything to fix it if she could.

“Talk to me.” She said quietly.

Sighing angrily, David tried to curb his discontent. "This is a bad week for me, Ryn. Not only is the anniversary of the near extinction of my race this week, but tomorrow would have me my father's seven hundredth birthday."

The sound of the nickname only her father had called her warmed her heart, she hadn’t realized how much she missed hearing it.

Baeryn face was painted with worry as her heart filled with sadness for her love. She couldn’t imagine losing her home world, even if she didn’t visit it often. “Tell me what you need.” Her greatest fear was to fail at giving David what he required in this dark time. She recognized people dealt with grief differently, she preferred solitude, but some people needed reassurance that someone was there, physically. She knew she would give this male anything that was in her power to give.

Shaking his head, he said, "I don't know. I mean, normally, firing a few hundred rounds with Betty, but, it's just not making a difference. Maybe...maybe i just need to meditate. May I...may I use your quarters? Its do much quieter than the barracks."

"You don't even have to ask. You are always welcome there, whether I'm present or not. I did recently change the password to the lock though.," She pushed up onto her toes to whisper in his ear, "The new password is Ghostwalker." Smiling she kissed David on the cheek before planting her feet back on the floor.

This actually gave him reason to grin slightly. "Thank you, Ryn. Let me get Betty cleaned and stored away, and then I'll head up."

"Okay, I'll see you after my shift." Rather then smother David with kisses Baeryn squeezed his hands for a second, giving him a reassuring smile, one that she hoped would be a welcoming light in this dark time for him. With that she set off.

David watched her go, his eyes dropping to her tight ass. Then he moved off and collected his spent shell casings. Next, after he deposited them into the recycler, he reached down to retrieve Betty, taking her back the the armory.

About thirty minutes later, he made his way up to Baeryn's quarters. After letting himself in, he started to remove his dirty uniform, dropping in in the reclimator. He then made his way to the shower, turning the water as hot as he could take, then stood under the jet of water, allowing it to simply wash over him.

Returning to Ops was pointless. They weren’t busy enough to really need her, which meant she was doing busy work, which also meant she didn’t have much to really focus on to keep her thoughts from returning to David's sad expression. There was something tugging on her, trying to show her where she should really be.

After a half an hour of doing her best to ignore it she gave up. Baeryn told her assistant that if she was needed to call for her, but other then that she would be preoccupied with a personal matter.

Baeryn hesitated outside of her own quarters. She didn’t wish to distract him, especially after he stated how rambunctious the barracks were when he requested being here but she always wanted to be there for him. In whatever way he needed. If he needed her at all. She knew she couldn’t expect him to tell her to what extent so until he told her to make herself sparse she decided she would just be there.

Entering her quarters she immediately heard the shower running. Taking a deep breath she walked to bathroom, slowly entered and stood against the door at first. The steam from the showered filled the room like thick smoke, making it harder to breathe in her uniform. Baeryn stood there for several seconds, still nervous she was smothering him in a time he needed solitude. She had never felt so deeply about anyone before to care the way she did now. It killed her that she couldn’t relate to the loss he felt, the emptiness that would never be filled, no matter how much love she gave him. Finally gaining enough courage she stood outside the shower and pressed her hand palm down on the door and slowly slide it open, just enough to look inside, and so that he could see she was there.

As soon as David saw Baeryn opening the door, he moved to open it all the way, then pulled her inside. He kissed her deeply, then looked at her, his eyes full of sadness. "Be with me. I want to feel something, anything, please "

Baeryn pulled David's face to hers, “I’ll always be with you.” She whispered while her hands wandered over his hot skin, pulling him closer to her as she dragged her nails down his back, harder then she ever had. She would give anything to never see the sadness she saw today. Her mouth moved hungrily from his lips to his neck where she took a large section of his skin between her teeth and bit down.

David growled at the bite. Then, he started to rip Baeryn's clothes' from her body. He had to be with her. He need to be with her! Before the black void of rage swallowed him whole.

Helping him pull her already drenched uniform off she found herself bare before David in the shower turned sauna. Before she would submit to him Baeryn gently pushed David against the shower wall. She held his gaze for a moment before bringing her lips to his chest, marking a trail of kisses and the occasional nibble as she proceeded south. She pressed her lips against the bullet scars longer then anywhere else she had kissed. Soon she found herself on her knees, the hot water hitting her back, she dared one more glance up into David's darkened eyes.

As David watched, his arousal grew more and more urgent. Then, when he watched Baeryn begin to pleasure him orally, he threw his head back and grunted and moaned. By the Goddesses!he managed to think to himself.

After several long, delicious moments, and Baeryn's expert treatment of him, David felt his climax quickly approaching. "Wait!" He gasped. But it was too late. His climax exploded and he was enveloped in euphoria like he hadn't felt in so long.

Baeryn held David in place until he finished and went limp, her nails dug into the back of his thighs. When she retreated she gave David an evil yet playful gaze, her obsidian eyes looking up from under her lashes ready for more of him. Her tongue ran along her bottom lip slowly before she bit it. If this was the distraction he was looking for she would make sure he was so exhausted he didn’t even have the energy to blink let alone think.

Seeing that look in Baeryn's eyes made David hungry. Reaching out, he grabbed her by the throat. Then he forced her to switch places in the shower with him. Once he had her up against the wall, he started to move to his knees, kiss and biting and sucking his way down. Then, after forcing her right leg over his left shoulder and onto of his back, he gave her as good as she gave him.

-----A few hours later-----

Baeryn tenderly ran her fingers through David's short cut hair as his head lay on her chest. She could have sworn he had fallen asleep, all energy completely depleted thanks to the hours they spent tangled together. When Baeryn shifted her legs she was pleasantly reminded of how sore she was, her thighs spotted with bite marks and bruises. The tiny tinge of pain caused her to let out a satisfied sigh. They seemed to have reached a new level of intimacy given the roughness in each of their actions.

Laying there, she watched his back rise and fall as he breathed as she continued to run her fingers through his hair, occasionally scratching his scalp with her nails.

Suddenly, David started to whimper softly. "No! Mama! Where's Jakob! Where's brother!"

Baeryn froze, her hand still tangled in David's hair. Was he dreaming?! She wasn't aware El Aurians could dream... she knew they didn't need sleep the way most species did. Who was Jakob? Her held her breath not wanting to miss what he might say next.

The whimper continued, as if spoken by a small boy. "Wh Where Jakob! Want Jakob back! Jakob!!!"

David suddenly snapped up, his heart was racing and he had a wild look in his eyes.

"David....." Baeryn didn't reach for him yet, she knew he needed to find his bearing's after waking so abruptly.

It took David a few beats to slow down and refocus, to see that he was safe and in a safe place. Slowly, he laid back down onto his back, pulling Baeryn close to him. His breathing was still a bit ragged, but he was calming down.

Cautiously she got closer to David, placing a hand on his chest she spoke softly to him, “Do you remember what you were dreaming?”

Swallowing hard, David finally looked down into Baeryn's beautiful eyes. A look of confusion played across his face. "No," he said softly as he shook his head.

Baeryn searched David's face, only seeing slight confusion there she moved to kiss the tip of his nose. “Who is Jakob?”

David started to say something in response, but paused. A confused look filled his features, as if he was searching for an answer. "I...he's..."

As he was trying to speak, he reached up and grabbed the side of his head, clearly in pain.

Baeryn sat up and moved to kneel in front of him, “David what’s wrong?!” Her voice was laced with worry but calm.

"My...my head!!" He tried to sit up, but every movement seemed to exasperate his pain. He kept moaning in agony

“Computer Alert medical of an emergency in Lt Whavi's quarters!” Baeryn shouted.

“Medical has been alerted and are in route now.”

Baeryn spoke to David, “Try to stay calm, they’ll be here soon.” She squeezed his right thigh to let him know she was still there. Baeryn knew first hand how excruciating head pain can be.

David kept moaning in agony, his rate of breathing increasing, until suddenly, he exhaled, and went completely still. Too still.

“DAVID!!”
