A pair of transporter beams suddenly appeared in the open plaza then, just as quickly, vanished, leaving two beings standing together, the warm salty air gently hitting their faces as the breeze came in from the Atlantic Ocean.

Turning and smiling at Baeryn, David took her hand and said, "This is going to be a great shore leave!" He seemed almost giddy with excitement. "I know you were from upstate, but, have you ever spent the day here, at Jones Beach?"

Baeryn deeply inhaled the salty smell of the large body of water in front of them, the biggest downfall from living aboard a starship was the scents you missed breathing artificial air. Returning her lovers smile Baeryn shook her head no, "I can't say that I have." The hybrid was itching to feel the water on her skin, the sun already heating her body.

David smiled broadly. "I've been coming to this beach, off and on, since the 1980's it's one of my most favorite beaches ever." He tilted his head towards the boardwalk. "C'mon. I'll get you a funnel cake. They are phenomenal here."

"Aren't those for kids?" Baeryn joked, "But I do like the ones with cherries" She winked at David and took his hand allowing him to lead the way.

David started to say that they didn't come with cherries. But then, he saw Baeryn's grin and knew she was kidding. Pulling her to him, he wrapped his left arm around her waist and squeezed her close, tickling her a little. "You are such a trouble maker," he whispered, teasingly, into her ear.

"Only because you condone such behavior from me!" She wiggled when he tickled her. "Even Moses agrees with me that its you, my dear who is the bad influence."

David laughed out loud at that. Releasing his tight hold on Baeryn, he turned to face her as they kept walking. "Looks like I'm gonna have to have a little sit down with 'ol Moses. And what, pray tell, else did he tell you about me?"

"Oh nothing, just that I've replaced you as his favorite." She gave David a toothy smile.

David threw his head back and laughed a hearty laugh. He the turned back forward and reached back to take Baeryn's hand. A few more steps and they reached the funnel cake vendor. David ordered one jumbo sized and then, after the powdered suger was sprinkled over the top, he paid for the treat. He then led Baeryn down the nearest ramp to tbe beach itself. As tbe reached tbe bottom, he took his shoes off and held them in one hand, the white paper bag that hd the funnel cake in the other. "C'mon, this way." He then ledher out onto the beach, tbe loose white sand warm on their bare feet. About twenty meters closer to the water, David turned and nodded his head, clearly cbecking their positioning.

"Here, this is the spot." He dropped his shoes to the sand , then offered his hand to help Baeryn sit. The surf was now about fifteen meters from where they currently were. Once Baeryn was seated, David joined her, careful not to kick up any loose sand. "I use to come to this beach when I was on New York, and there would be an airshow during Memorial Day weekend. I'd sit, right here. First time was... 1985. It was a little cool that year, and a little foggy, but, they still did the show." He opened the bag and offered Baeryn the first chunk of funnel cake.

"So what your telling me is this is where you bring all your dates?" She teased. Taking a small piece of the funnel cake she brought it to her nose to smell before popping it into her mouth. Her tongue watered instantly as she chewed the fried piece of dough.

David grinned. "Maybe one or two." He reached into the bag, broke off a piece off and as he started to pop it in his mouth, he said, "And a few of em are buried right under you."

Baeryn stopped chewing and her face drained of all color, it took her a few seconds to realize David was joking. When she did she back handed his arm lightly, “Very humorous jerk.” Chuckling she leaned closer to steal more of the funnel cake. “This desert is dangerous. I’m glad you only got one because I have zero self control when it comes to sweets.”

"I know," he said as he held a piece for Baeryn to eat from his fingers. "That's why you find me so irresistible. I'm so sweet." He had a self-assured grin plastered across his face as he spoke.

Baeryn smiled but narrowed her eyes at David. She wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of agreeing, so instead she plucked the bag containing the funnel cake from him. Leaving him the piece he was attempting to feed her. Removing a rather large piece from the bag and began dancing in her seat as she ate.

'Hey!" David yelped playfully. He then chuckled and smiled warmly. Popping the piece he still held into his mouth, he sucked the suger from his finger tips. Then, as he finished chewing, he uncrossed his legs, so he could sit forward, resting his elbows on his raised knees, and just gazed out at the sea in front of them.

Closing his eyes, David raised his nose and inhaled the salty air again. Letting out a soft sigh, he reopened his eyes and continued to look at the waves that were crashing on the shoreline in front of them. "It really is beautiful here. It reminds me a little of my home world."

After a few more bites Baeryn set the paper bag down on her left and leaned against David, kissing his arm. "I wish I could of seen it. Tell me about it."

He gave her a sad smile. "It was alot like Earth, in some ways. But so much more advanced in others. We had no enemy's, for one. We were at peace with all of our neighbors, and had been, for a least three millennia. My world," he gave her an apologetic look. "We don't say her name to Outworlders, I'm sorry, my love. When we are fully bonded, then I will be allowed to tell you." He looked back out to sea, memories long forgotten. "She was the crown jewel in our vast confederacy. She was three times the size of Earth, and had twelve separate continental islands, all surrounded by one large ocean, that we called, Seagalla."

"When you say fully bonded, what does that entail exacly?" When Baeryn asked she kept her eyes out on the water. She had somewhat of an idea but she could never find the courage to ask more about it.

Turning his head to gently kiss Baeryn on the top of her head, David spoke softly through her curls. "Well, the first thing would be for you to answer my earlier question. While our energies are joined, you must accept my question. It may seem like a small thing, but, it is required. It would signify that not only do you fully accept our bonding, it would also show that you are ready for the next stage. A small ceremony, called Vertalko. between you, me, and another El Aurian, who would bear witness. Following the successful completion, then you would be fully recognized as an El Aurian citizen, having all the rights, privileges and protections that our laws provide."

“Does it frustrate you that I haven’t answered?” Baeryn didn’t wish to push her luck with David patience’s but she also felt comfortable asking him these things. Which was an interesting development for her, seeing as she wasn’t normally the relationship type, she never had plans to settle down or fall so I love with someone as she has with David. Knowing she had still yet to confess her feelings to David gave her such anxiety just thinking about it. He had expressed his time and time again, so she had no fear of her feelings not being reciprocated. Something was just holding her back.

David lifted his left arm and, after allowing Baeryn to move in closer, he wrapped his arm around her shoulders, his hand resting on her side. "Not at all, Baeryn. When you're ready, I know you'll give your answer. I've waited four hundred and sixty-three years for you. Now that I have found you, time has no meaning any more. You're my home. Wherever you are, that is where I want to be." He kissed the top of her head again then continued. "I know you haven't felt comfortable saying it in reply, and I will never expect you to say it, until you are ready to say it. However, Baeryn, I love you."

Snug under Davids arm she replied, "Thank you, for loving me and understanding." She shifted so that she could look into his face as she said it. Taking in his ocean eyes and soft features. Sitting cuddled up to him on earth, in front of an ocean, eating sweets seemed like the closest to Heaven she had gotten in the last seventeen years.

"Of course, Baeryn," he replied with a loving smile. "You mean everything go me." He leaned in and gave he a small kiss. He then pulled her to him and held her close, not wanting this perfect moment to end.

A few minutes later, Baeryn, smiling to herself, asked, "What else did you have in mind for us cowboy?"

After thinking about it, he replied. "We could go see my house, if you wanted to."

"You have a house here?!"

Nodding matter-of-factly, He said, "Yeah. I've owned it since 1993. It's a nice little place in a decent neighborhood."

She gave a disbelieving laugh, "and its still standing?!"

Nodding, he smiled at her. Long Island was sparred most of the fighting of the War. My home is in Massapequa. We could go see it, if you wanted to."

The subject made her think of the house she shared with her father, they weren't far from it at all. As quick as the thought came she sent it away. She wanted this time with David, not wondering about the past what what came of things. "I'd like to, yes. But, "Baeryn un weaved herself from David and stood." I wanna go swimming first." Smiling she held a hand out for him to join her.

Returning Baeryn's smile, David took the iffered hand and stood. Before he did anything, he picked up the empty bag and dropped in a nearby trash recycler. He then returned to the woman he loved and pulled his shirt off, mtaking his time doing so, showing off every muscle he could. Next, he removed his shorts, revealing a black, speedo suit underneath. "Ready?"

"Always." Baeryn turned towards the water and after a few steps she started to remove the loose fitting dress she wore, leaving her in a emerald green bikini. She looked over her shoulder and scrunched her nose at David before running towards the water laughing.

David laughed and started to chase her into the surf. Once they reached it, he took a few high steps, then dove into the breaking surf, disappearing from view.

The waters bite was cold against her calves causing her proceed slower into the ocean. She laughed when David dived in, no fear of the icy cold holding him back. Baeryns eyes scanned the distance, waves rising and crashing. The wind carrying the salty smell of the waters to her nose. But her favorite part was the sun. Baeryn closed her eyes and tilted her head back enjoying the warm rays on her face, shoulders and back. She stopped walking when the waterline was to her mid thigh.

Under the surface, David's eyes quickly ajusted to the salinity levels of the water. While his vision wasn't perfectly clear, he could make out where Baeryn had stopped in the water. Deciding to have a little fun, he stayed to the bottom, his muscular physique making that easy as he couldn't float, he slowly made his way around her, the waves crashing above him hiding his location.

Baeryn lightly ran her hands over the top of the water, the smooth icy glass like ocean was beautiful.

Finally, when he saw that she was turned away from him, he stood up, wrapping his arms around her hips, lifting her up. As he started to bring her down, he moved his mouth to her right ear, nibbling her lobe a little, then whispered, "Beware the mighty sea beast! No maiden is safe in his waters!"

Gasping Baeryn squirmed in David's arms, his cold wet skin again her stomach enough to make her yelp. "I think the sea beast wants his ass kicked by the fair maiden!" Baeryn laughed as goosebumps spread across her arms and legs, from David at her ear or the cold water she didn't know.

Laughing softly, David finally put Baeryn back on her feet, then slowly turned her to face him, interlocking his fingers behind the small of her back. Smiling mischievously, he asked, "What makes this maiden so strong that she could hope to defeat me?"

"Because maybe she isn't a maiden at all but a siren who lures you in with her beauty and enchanting singing voice." Baeryn wrapped her arms around Davids neck and pulled herself up to softly bite his bottom lip.

David growled slightly when Baeryn bit him. Reaching down, he took hold of her tight bottom with both hands and lifted, forcing her legs around his hips as he did so. He then kissed her, deeply.

The wind blowing across the water blew her curly auburn locks all around as she kissed David. Holding him tighter when he lifted her out of the water.

When they finally came up for air, David leaned his forehead against hers. With a soft smile on his face, he said, "Speaking of singing, I could feel the vibrations of your singing during my rasstala. It felt like a lullaby, it was so beautiful. Thank you."

Baeryn turned bashful, “You did huh?” She refused to open her eyes, keeping her forehead pressed to his. “It’s been a really long time since I’ve been moved to sing. I forgot how much I enjoyed it, how much apart of me it is. Perhaps if your lucky I’ll sing for you one day.”

"I'd like that, Baeryn," his voice just loud enough for her to hear him of the crashing waves.

Unwrapping her legs from around him, she braved the cold water. Once out of David's arms she walked backwards, eyes still locked on him as the waterline slowly started to rise, over her thighs, engulfing her hips and stomach. She cringed only slightly from the cold, inhaling deeply before she fully submerged herself. Baeryn only stayed below for a few seconds until she rose slowly from beneath. The water caused her skin to glitter in the sun.

David was amazed how water alone made a drop dead beautiful woman unbelievably sexy. His eyes moved over every inch of Baeryn's that he could see above the water. Shaking his head slightly, he made a small grunt of appreciation to the vision that was standing before him right now. Slowly, he moved towards her, as if drawn forward by an unseen magnetic force.

When he reached her, David reached up and gently held either side of her face in his strong hands. Gazing deeply into he obsidian eyes, he spoke, his voice sounding husky. "If you are a siren, I gladly give you everything that I am, now and forever. Do with me what you will. I am yours." He then leaned down and kissed her, tenderly at first, but soon, the passion increased as he moved his arms around her, pulling her to him in the gently rolling waves.

"Take me home." She managed to say the words between kisses, hoping he would know what she meant. He was lucky they were in a public place or she would have surely had her way with him right there in the water. She could still taste the funnel cake on his tongue but also the salt from the water on his lips.

Breathless from the kissing, David nodding wordlessly then, after releasing Baeryn, took her gand and guided her back to shore and the place where their clothes were. Once there, he used his commbadge to contact the local transporter hub and requested a site to site transport for the two of them.

Seconds later, the transporter beams had dissipated, leaving the two of them standing in front of a quaint on story home, complete with a one vehicle attached garage and a small front porch, big enough for two people to sit in the rustic looking porch swing hanging in the center, facing the road that was behind them in the quiet little neighborhood of homes.

Baeryn's eyes never stopped flitting from house to yard back to house, The poach swing had her stomach tightening. She remembered evenings after dinner swinging with her dad, talking about the most trivial of subject. School drama, boys, girls even at one point. Baeryn had to turn her attention to the door to stop the emotions from overpowering her.

David sighed contently. "Home," he said to Baeryn as he led her towards the front door. "Creetalla dano, hestola greata." He spoke words of his native tongue as they reached the front steps.

As soon as he finished speaking, the front door swung open, to the left, allowing them to enter. David stepped aside and waved Baeryn in. "Please. Welcome to your new home, my love."

It was...warmer then she expected. Like the house was full of life and not vacant for goddesses knows how many years. She proceeded a few steps then turned and held her hand out for David. "Show me." She was excited, but pleasantly content here. She almost instantly fell in love with it.

Smiling warmly, David took Baeryn's hand and began a quick tour of the one place in the entire galaxy that he considered home. Stepping through the front door, a comfortable living room opened away from them to their left. In the corner next to the front large four panel pucture window and the wall that was shared with tbe garage, was a comfortable looking leather recliner. Sharing the rest of the wall next to it was an equally inviting sofa/chaize lounger combo. In tbe middle of the room was a round glass topped coffee table, through wich a tasteful rug was seen, laying upon a dark, hardwood floor. Against the central wall, a low cabinet stood a few pieces from David's past sat upon it, surrounding a large holo emitter in the center.

Through the archway on their right, he took her through the kitchen/dining room, which looked to be a perfect combination of comfy tight, with table that could sit six in front of flower box window. The kitchen itself was just tight enough to still work, with the stove and fridge on outside wall and the sink and most of the cabinetry facing it from the opposite wall.

From the dining area, there was a small hallway that circled a central staircase to the basement. As they moved counterclockwise from the kitchen, he showed her a bathroom, hall closet, guest room on back corner of house, office in center back of house, master bedroom on opposite corner of back of house, then back into the living room.

As they decended the stairs, they turned left at the halfway point, making their orientation towards the front of the house at the bottom of the stairs. On the left was a laundry/store room. Through the door on their right, was a room as big as the living room above, with pool table and dart board. As they kept going clockwise, through another archway, they entered a comfortable sitting room, which seemed to used to host parties and gatherings. Through another archway, they entered aa small kitchenette, complete with a wet bar, then another bathroom.

Throughout the home, there were items that detailed all the adventures that David had experienced over the last four hundred years. From various types of knick-knacks, to shadowboxes filled with military awards, unit patches and a large assortment of military coins awards. There was also a collection of weapons displayed throughout the home. It was clear that a warrior claimed this space.

As they finished moving through the home, David looked down at Baeryn. "Well? What do you think, Baeryn?"

Walking through the house was like reading a story, one that stretched on longer then that of a human life span. Baeryn was so curious as she looked into the shadow boxes and at the the vast amount of old weapons' she had never seen with her own eyes. When they stopped Baeryn faced David, "It could use a woman's touch." She teased. Standing up onto the tips of her toes she whispered more seriously, "You forgot to show me the bedroom." She lips brushed his as she spoke.

David gave Baeryn a hungry grin, then pointed to the open doorway that was right behind her. "Get in there and Ill show you every inch of it."

Baeryns eyes darkened with a fierce desire. She grabbed a fist full of David's shirt and pulled him towards her as she walked backwards into the bedroom. Her lips meeting his as they crossed the threshold.

As soon as they entered his, now their, master bedroom, David reached up, hands hooking Baeryn's armpits. He then picked her up off the floor, stepped closer to the large, California King-sized bed, and tossed her onto its plush surface. He then pulled off his shirt and climbed into the bed, from the bottom, and stalked towards her.

Baeryn laughed as she was thrown onto the bed, it felt like she landed in a cloud of fluff. Hastily she tried to pry off the still damp dress she wore over her swimsuit. By the time the fabric was finally off and tossed to the floor she had little time to react to David climbing towards her. This bed was far larger then the one in her quarters about the Elysium and gave her plenty of room to retreat from him, but she didn't. She delighted in watching him come for her, crawl towards her with such a yearning it set her skin on fire. Patience was never her strong suit when it came to David but Baeryn waited, and watched, as he drew closer and closer. The muscles in his shoulders flexing with every movement. Her breathing got heavy.

As David began to make his way up the length of Baeryn's beautiful body, he planted kisses all along the way, starting with the top of her right shin, then left knee, right thigh, left thigh. Then he moved up slightly, catching the tied string that went over her left hip in his teeth. Keeping his eyes locked on hers, he slowly pulled the string until the knot came loose. Dropping the string, he slowly, delicately, moved to his left, planting soft kisses all along the top hem line of the bikini bottoms, all the way to the right hip. He then repeated what he had don on the left hip.

Once both strings were untied, he bit onto the middle of the top hem and moved back, pulling the garment off of her body. As he sat up he gently spread her legs and then lowered himself back down, pleasuring her deeply.

The sound that came from Baeryn the moment Davids mouth found her sweet spot was a cross between a moan and a whine. She wanted to close her eyes and fall back but she was too mesmerized by the view of his head between her legs. Another moan, far louder then the first came out of her and she had to grip the bedspread to stop from grinding herself onto his face.

***LATER***

Moonlight was shinning in through the window, casting shadows in the unfamiliar room. Baeryn reached across the bed searching for David. Curse this giant bed she thought not finding him immediately. Slowly, her eyes still heavy with sleep Baeryn lifted her head from the pillow to look around the room. No sign of David.

Slipping out of the bed she tip toed to a closet and took a few steps inside the giant walk in till she found a dresser. From it she pulled an old t shirt and slipped it on. It hung low, stopping just above her knees. Then she went in a search of her mate.

The halls were dark but lit just enough by the full moon outside that she could make her way though them and down the stairs. She caught sight of a room with a light on. The study? She vaguely remembered the tour, preoccupied with thoughts of other activities. Her foot steps were light as a feather as she walked towards lighted room. Crossing her arms, she stood in the door way, leaning against its frame. Watching him lost in a memory. Gods did she love this man. It hurt her that she couldn’t voice those feelings to him yet.

David was in the laundry/storeroom, busy looking through some old memories that he kept in storage here. There were a few dozen different bins and crates here. He had other caches around the world but, the thongs here were his most cherished.

As he was putting a photo away, he caught the sight of a vision in the corner of his eye. Without looking, he said, "Damn, I guess I'm going have start calling you Ghostwalker now, aren't I?" He raised his hands in surrender, the old photo of David and a smiling red-headed woman still in his left hand.

“I think Nightcrawler suits me better.” She chuckled as she crossed the space between them. Her eyes caught sight of the photo in his hand and her face took on a more somber expression. “You look happy there. Can I ask about her?” She gestured to the picture as she wrapped her arms around him.

Putting the picture down, he wrapped his arms around Baeryn and held her close. "I was, though nowhere near as happy as I am right now. Her name was Rebecca Winters. She was the first human woman that I ever cared about and was intimate with. We actually lived together for two years, before she was killed in a hit a run by a drunk driver."

For a moment Baeryn gazed up at David, searching his expression for any sign of unease discussing the topic. "I'm sorry." she stated, and truly meant it. Baeryn felt no jealousy when it came to David's heart, she knew where she stood. "Did coming back here remind you of her"

Frown slightly, David replied. "No, we never lived here together. We got together when I was first stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. We served together in the same transportation company. Bravo Company, 801st Main Support Battalion. Our company callsign was Road Warriors, and the battalion's was Mainteneers.

The way things were organized back then was, if the division was deployed anywhere, the various supplies that were needed by our half of the division, would be brought into us, the 801st. We would then transport those supplies forward to the three Forward Support Battalions, or FSBs. They were the 426th, 526th and 626th. Those guys would then disseminate the supplies to the three infantry battalions that we had in the 101st Division. They were the....uh..lemme see if I can remember..." He closed his eyes and thought back several hundred years. "The...187th, 502nd aaaaaand 327th Infantry Regiments! Wow, haven't thought about all of that in a very long time!"

"Did you ever tell her you weren't human?" Baeryn couldnt help but want to know more about the woman who had clearly fallen in love with David and vice versa.

Shaking his head, a slight sadness to his eyes. "No. It was the one thing that I couldn't tell her. Back then, humans didn't know whether there was intelligent life out in the universe. At least, the general populace didn't. The major power governments certainly did. Hell, a Ferengi shuttle was found near Roswell! Thankfully, they got away before too much damage was caused."

"Can you imagine if first contact had been established with the Ferangi instead of Vulcans?!" Baeryn laughed hugging David tighter.

"Well, for one, it would be a far dirtier world." He chuckled a deep chuckle. Putting the photo away, he turned his full attention back to Baeryn. "So, my love. What would you like to do now?"

Moving towards the washer Baeryn hoisted herself up onto it, reaching towards David she grabbed him by the waistband and pulled him towards her, positioning him between her legs that dangled off the side of the washer. "What do you want to do? Coming to Earth was your idea remember Mr. Romantic." Sitting on the washer it placed her high enough she met David's eye level with her own.

"Everything I want to do," David said, as he ran his hands up the inside of Baeryn's thighs, up to where they met in the middle. "Is right here in front of me." His voice was heavy with desire.

"Laundry? You want to do laundry right now?" Baeryn teased as her spine straightened when his fingers found her center, she bit down on the moan.

David's voice was as smooth as silk. "Yes," he began. "And your shirt is filthy! Its gotta go." Moving his fingers from inside of her, he grabbed the bottom hem of his shirt that she was wearing and pulled it up and off of her.

Holding it up between them, David made a sly smile and dropped it. "Oops!" He exclaimed. "You sit there while I go get your shirt ."He knelt down and grabbed the shirt. As he rose, he slid her left leg over his shoulder and back. He then buried his face deep inside Baeryn, enjoying how she felt and tasted.

There was a loud bang when Baeryn slammed both palms down on the washer to steady herself the moment David's mouth found her center. Her head dropped back, releasing a loud gasp of pleasure as she opened her legs further. Bare on top of the washer Baeryn's nipples perked from the cold air flowing through the house.

David dug deeper, trying to push Baeryn yo the highest climax that she had ever had. He alternated his method of pleasuring between digital and oral, always trying to find the way to send his love into orbit.

Baeryns moans quickly increased in volume. When David switched methods she almost lost is completely, nearly releasing herself right there on the washer. She needed something to hold on to. Her right hand pulled his hair lightly as her left hand failed to find the edge of the washer and instead hit the buttons behind her starting the machine. Regardless of the noise the machine started to make Baeryn held onto her climax, refusing to give into it.

Her restraint lasted all of ten seconds before she screamed and release washed over her, she had to push David away from her now sensitive center. She pulled him by the collar until his mouth found hers. She moaned as she tasted herself on his lips, caressing her tongue with his.

As they kept kissing, David dropped the athletic shorts that he was wearing, his fully erect manhood pulsing slightly, begging for attention.

With her eyes closed Baeryn could tell by David's movements he was removing his clothing, her hand slid down between them to find him ready and waiting. Like the tease she was Baeryn stroked him with just a finger, lingering at the tip. She wrapped her left hand gently around David's throat, not putting any pressure but using her grip to back him away from her so she could slide off the washer. She could feel his length pulsing with want and need but she took her time kissing him deeply before pulling back, biting his bottom lip as she did.

Baeryn turned then, spreading her legs as she leaned over the washer gripping the back panel waiting for David to find his way inside.

Moving tight in behind Baeryn, David held her right hip with his tight hand, and then used his left hand to guide his fully erect manhood deep inside her. Once there, he grabbed hold of her left hip, and began to thrust anew.

Her body was noticeably still sore from their earlier intercourse but Baeryn wanted more. Her bare skin was pressed up against the cold machine but the heat within her was more then enough to keep her warm. The machine started moving and she could of sworn David's movements matched the washers rhythm. Pulling on the panel Baeryn lifted herself onto the tips of her toes, opening herself wider for him.

David felt the change in Baeryn's positioning and alterd his stance as well, driving even deeper into her. He groaned in ecstacy, loving this woman, the only woman he would ever love again.

She let out a roar before yelling over the sounds of Davids thrusting and the washing machine running its cycle. “HARDER David.”

Needing no further incentive, David increased both the strength and speed of his thrusts. He could feel the end coming soon. His grunts of pleasure became louder and louder as he pushed them both to the breaking point.

Baeryns release was in complete synch with David's as they reached their climax together. Her scream of pleasure echoing though out the entire house. Her body went limp against the washer, still bent over she pressed her face against the cold surface of the washer panting for breath.

David's legs felt like rubber, he was beyond spent. However, there was one more thing that he wanted to do. After pulling himself free, he gently gathered Baeryn in his arms, cradling her against his still heaving chest. Then, once she had her arms wrapped around his neck, he carried her back upstairs, to the bed that was now theirs. After gently laying her down and covering her with the plush comforter and sheets, he moved around to the other side of the bed and slid in behind her, spooning up behind her. Wrapping his right arm over her, he pulled her closer to him.

"I love you, Baeryn Whavi," he lovingly whispered into her right ear, then, ever so gently, kissed her right under her ear.

For the first time in almost twenty years Baeryn felt completely safe and content, like she was finally home. She felt so protected wrapped in David's arms that she let go of all the shields and self built walls in her mind. Is this what bliss feels like? She thought as sleep began to overcome her. Baeryn's hand found David's and she laced their fingers together as she pulled his hand to her lips and kissed his knuckles. As she felt asleep she held tight onto that hand, never willing to release it. He was hers now and forever. When he whispered in her ear she pressed her back to his chest sighing contently as she drifted back to sleep.

The sun was shinning bright warm rays into the master bedroom, causing Baeryn to scrunch her face and grunt. She pulled the white comforter over her head in protest to the morning, but not before she caught the scent of coffee and sausage coming from the kitchen below. Coffee. The only pleasure in life able to convince her to get up in the mornings.

Under the covers she caught whiff of the sex that still lingered on her skin. God she was so sore after yesterday. Pleasantly sore that is. Grunting again she threw the blankets off of her and stretched out in the empty bed. Her gaze fell to David's pillow, his side of the bed had gone cold long ago.

It took a massive amount of effort to crawl out of bed and enter the bathroom. She needed to shower first before she could have coffee, that was her attempt to reason with herself anyway. It was a quick less then five minute shower, she scrubbed every inch and used the soaps provided, one being a eucalyptus mint she found incredibly appealing. Wrapping her hair in a towel she slipped into another one of Davids shirts but found her own pair of shorts and headed down the stairs towards the wafting aroma of coffee, and, Davids singing? She slowed on the stairs silently giggling as she herd David belting a song she didn’t know.

David's deep baritone voice sang in perfect concert with the song playing on his stereo.

"Trailer for sale or rent

Ah, but, two hours of pushin' broom
Buys an eight by twelve four-bit room
I'm a man of means by no means
King of the road.

Third boxcar, midnight train
Destination, Bangor, Maine.
Old worn out suit and shoes,
I don't pay no union dues,
I smoke old stogies I have found
Short, but not too big around
I'm a man of means by no means
King of the road.

I know every engineer on every train
All of their children, and all of their names
And every handout in every town
And every lock that ain't locked
When no one's around.
I sing,

Trailers for sale or rent
Rooms to let, fifty cents
No phone, no pool, no pets
I ain't got no cigarettes
Ah, but, two hours of pushin' broom

Boombadoba, yeaahh."

Baeryn wasn’t sure if David was singing or if the voice was coming from the stereo. She rounded the corner, light on her feet and watched him as he flipped the meat in the pan on the stove. It seemed amazing in the kitchen. After a minute of watching him sway to the music as he belted the song, Baeryn moved to stand behind him, snaking her arms around his waist. “I may not know that song but I know I love hearing you sing it.”

Reaching up, David gently grasped Baeryn's arms after they snaked around his waist. Smiling, he looked her over his right shoulder. "Morning, Ryn," he said softly, a slight chuckle vibrated in his chest. "Did you sleep good? I hope the soap I left out was what you'd want to use."

"I slept like a babe." Pulling the towel from her head, her auburn curls cascaded down past her shoulders, still wet from the shower and giving off the warming scent of eucalyptus. "Hmmm yes I think this might be my favorite." Smiled up at him before tossing the towel on a chair for the moment. Then she eagerly went to the coffee machine.

"Good!" He replied as he went back to work at the stove. "Sausages are almost done. So the important question....pancakes or waffles? Also, cups are in the cupboard above your head there, sugar, if you want it, us in the one to the left. Dairy products are on the top shelf of the fridge. Pour me a cup too, please, black for me."

"How is that even a question? Waffles." Grabbing two rather large cups from the cupboard Baeryn filled one with milk before pouring the coffee. She set David's next to the stove, then leaned against the counter sipping her coffee, the cup so large she used both hands. Baeryn took a minute to appreciate this moment, how the earths sunlight turned David's eyes into a lighter shade of blue, how his skin seemed darker but his hair lighter from the affects of the sun the day prior. Gods why was he so handsome.

"Thank you," he said with a warm smile. When he picked up his mug, same size as Baeryn's, he easily did so with only one hand. After taking a large sip, he put it back on the counter and started the process of making waffles. First grabbing the waffle iron from one cabinet, setting it up and plugging it in so that it would start to come to temperature. He then moved about the kitchen, grabbing the other items. He moved around the kitchen deftly, as if he could do so blindfolded. Once the main ingredients were in the bowl, he opened the spice cabinet and started to reach for something, but stopped himself.

Turning to face Baeryn, he had a playful suspicious look on his face. "Are you a Romulan spy?"

"Hmm?" David's sudden question broke the trance she had been in as she watched him move about the kitchen. Her face broke into a bashful smile, she had realized she had been staring, admiring David so openly.

Raising his chin to look down at her, David asked the question again. "Are you...a Romulan spy?"

Cocking her head to the side she replyed, "And what if I was?"

Feigning regret, David shook his head sadly and said. "If you are, then, well, I can't show you my secret ingredient for making my batter so delicious."

"Do spies' still get waffles?" Failing to hold a serious face.

Sighing, David started to pour tbe unfinished batter down tbe sink. "Nope, and I guess since you are....."

"What if I let you blind fold me?" Her voice came out low and more sultry then she expected.

"Hmmm" David thought about it for a few seconds, the bowl of raw batter still dangerously close to spilling out of the bowl and down the sink. He acted like he was starting to lose his grip on it.

Baeryn saw the tipping bowl and quickly reached out to grab it before the contents spilled into the sink.

David quickly snapped the bowl up above Baeryn's head, out if her reach. "You area romulan spy! I knew it! You've come all this way, seduced me, brainwashed me to bring you to my home...and now you want my secret ingredient!! Help!" Ha playfully called out. "Someone, please save me!"

When Baeryn caught on to his jest she set her coffee down on the counter and started pinching David's sides until the bowl was in reach. Laughing she reached up for the bowl. "It's too late to resist now!!!" She started tickling him between pinches'.

Acting as if he was being tortured mercilessly, David started to back away, all the while trying to keep the bowl of batter safe. "No! You'll never get it outta me! I'm a Marine! Tonelly, David. Rank, Corporal! Serial number, Zulu Seven Niner niner Delta Alpha One!"

Baeryn growled as she kept reaching for the bowl, she was too short to reach it even if she jumped. With her options limited and David now reciting his title and rank she did the unexpected, she leaned in and took a chunk of David's pectoral between her teeth and bit down.

"Ow!" David yelped in pain, not anticipating the sudden change. He dropped the bowl to the floor and the batter went everywhere.

Bareyn stood, hands out, mouth open, and batter dripping from her face and hair onto the floor. It took her a moment before bursting into giant fit of laughter.

She scooped batter off her cheek and sucked it off her finger, "Butter fingers much oh mighty Marine?." She teased.

David just stood there, at first he seemed to be getting annoyed, then he glanced down at the deep bite mark on his left pectoral muscle. Saw it start to slowly ooze blood. "Did you really need to bite me that hard, Baeryn?"

Baeryn retreated a step, her expression unreadable. She quickly blanketed her emotions as she kept her heart rate steady. "It wasnt my intention to hurt you. I got carried away." She wouldn't react to her mistake in front of David nor show any sign of regret for her actions. Turning she picked up the bowl and set it on the counter. "I'm going to get cleaned up." She said as she started to exit the kitchen.

"Baeryn!" David called out to her but, she had already left the room. Silently cursing to himself, he knew that he shouldn't have snapped at her. They both had taking the little game too far. Hearing the shower upstairs start, he knew he should go to her. However, the batter was everywhere and it would only get worse if he left it. He knew the choices both had a negative impact result.

Still wanting to salvage breakfast, he decided to go to Baeryn, and clean the mess later. "Baeryn!" He called out as he climbed the stairs two at a time.

Baeryn could hear her name being shouted over the running water. She locked the bathroom door before he could make it up the stairs. Turning to the mirror she took in the mess she was, batter mixed with still wet hair. The combination of scents not appealing as they were separately. For a moment she stared at her reflection, her obsidian eyes more like space voids that did nothing but eat the light around them.

She had gone too far and new that much, she never meant to hurt David. Knowing she had caused him pain was worse then the tone of his voice and the way he said her name. So quickly she ruined the beautiful morning.

"Baeryn," David called her name as he approached the closed door. He didn't try to open it, instead, he gently knocked. "Baer?" He said, using a new version of her name. "C'mon, open the door. I'm sorry that I snapped at you like that. I took the playing too far and then reacted poorly. I'm sorry."

"It's fine. It wasn't your fault." She said to the closed door. She knew she should apologize for hurting David but that meant admitting to herself she had physically hurt him. She didn't even know what possessed her bite so hard. She regretted the entire incident and wished she would have stayed in bed.

No. She told herself. That's not how she really felt. She was just too much of a coward to face the truth. Her thoughts drifted to the blood that was started to gather around her teeth marks on his chest and the thought she was going to be sick.

"Baer?" David called through the door. "C'mon, open the door. Please?"

The queasy feeling brought her hand to her belly. She was holding back a tidal wave of emotions as well as keeping whatever contents in her stomach at bay. Baeryn could feel the batter starting to harden on her skin. Looking away from the mirror to the door she reached over and unlocked it, but didn't open it. Keeping her eye sight down she grabbed a washcloth and wet it, then started to clean the batter from her face.

Slowly, David opened the door. Seeing the woman he loved in such a miserable state broke his heart. "Oh, Baer!" He moved into the room and started to tub. "Here, get in. I'll clean you off."

Baeryn grabbed David's hand as he went to start the tub, "No, its okay. I can do it." She released his hand but refused to look up, if she caught site of the bitemark she would lose it and she was trying desperately not to.

Turning to her, David could feel that she was struggling to maintain control. Sitting down on the edge of the tub, he reached up and, placing the side of his finger under her chin, he gently lifted he face so he could look into her eyes. "Look at me, Baer, please."

Like the coward she was Baeryn closed her eyes as David lifted her chin, "I didn't mean to hurt you." Her voice came out in a whisper, cracking on the last word. Her hand shot to her stomach again and she knew as much as she dreaded him being in the same room as her in this moment it was too late to ask him to leave. Turning quickly Baeryn barely made it to the toilet before the coffee and stomach bile rose up her throat and into the toilet water. Kneeling over the porcelain bowl her stomach emptied.

David moved quickly to help Baeryn, holding her forehead in one hand as she retched and rubbing her back with the other. "That's it, Baeryn, let it all out."

Anger started to break free from the containment Baeryn kept it in. Growing rapidly. She wiped her mouth as she flushed the upchucked contents of her stomach. She was overcome with such fury that her hand began to shake until she clenched it into a fist. She was mad at the situation, at her own stupid mistake, for hurting David, for the way he said her name in that annoyed tone, for getting sick, for being a coward who couldn’t even look him in the eyes because she knew she would instead stare at the mark she left in his chest. In a low uncharacteristically stern voice she said,” David, I need a minute.”

She knew she was doing it again, pushing him away. Baeryn didn’t know how to let him help her, mentally or physically. She had never allowed anyone to ever get close enough to do so. She was thankful she couldn’t feel whatever it was he was feeling because if it was disgust or disappointment she wouldn’t have been able to compose herself. How did things get to turned around so quickly? One moment she’s standing in the kitchen blissfully admiring the man she loved and the next she was harming him and running away like she always did.

Sensing a change in the woman he loved, David was, at first, speechless. Then, taking in a quiet deep breath, he finally relented. "Okay," he said quietly, trying not to let the hurt in his voice. "I'll...I'll be in the kitchen. Breakfast, if you still want it, will be ready in a little bit."

He then slowly left her side, closing the door behind him as he left her alone in the bathroom. After pausing for a few beats, he shuffled off back to the kitchen, to clean up the mess and start over again.
