Tonya was in the waiting room with Victor and Lara. Her ankle needed to be looked at by a doctor. She looked at Victor and Lara saying, "I missed you two. That mission was one for the record books. Fortunately we all stuck together and I thought of you two when I had moments to think. You have to admit from my perspective, it is odd knowing there is someone who loves me ...."
Victor interrupted being the gentleman he is, "It is okay. We will take it slow. You do not need to analyze it. We are just glad you are okay. The Doctor will fix you up and you will be back to normal."
Tonya face palms herself and before she could say something, Lara picked up on what she was possibly feeling. "Dad. You should let her finish. Every time you two talk in front of me, you two are tiptoeing. I feel she wants to speed it up with you but your chivalry is getting in the way."
Tonya exhaled. "Lara, you are very clairvoyant. Yes, I want to speed things up." She covered Lara ears so she could say something. "Victor, it is time you get to second base with me. You are not going to get to home plate if you are staying on first base."
Before he could say a word, his badge chirped requesting him to go to a meeting. Victor gives Tonya a romantic kiss saying with a deep breath. "You are right. Hopefully we will be spending more time alone in the future. Later sweetheart."
Victor left smiling as he was saying "yes" to himself.
Tonya removed her hands off of Lara. "Your father had to go to a meeting. Hope you did not hear anything."
Lara blushed betraying she did. "I heard everything. I know what second base is in baseball but what did you mean?"
Tonya scratched her hair a bit. "Your father have told you about the birds and the bees?"
"A little but it was Aunt Mira who told me everything," Lara answered, "And I mean everything. She did not use metaphors. So in your book, what is second base?"
"Simple kiss and holding hands is first base," Tonya answered observing Lara. "Second base, some of the following could be considered. French Kissing, intimate touching, ..." Before she could say more, she felt relieved seeing the doctor walked in. "Olivia. Good morning. I am here for you to look at my ankle. Can Lara stay while you examine my ankle?"
"Hello you two," Olivia replied. "Young Miss Lara can stay as long as you are fine with it. Lets get that ankle of yours seen to now. Do you need help over to one of the bio-beds?"
"I will hop over there," Tonya did as she said she would. After she had done so, she sat awkwardly on it. Her shoes were already off. "Doctor, I sprained my ankle on the mission but as you will tell, it is not completely healed."
Lara as always was studying her surroundings as well as what was going on there.
Olivia nodded slightly as she picked up one of the tricorders, opened it, and scanned Tonya's ankle. "We can get that taken care of and then you will be good to go," Olivia replied. After doing the needed scans of Tonya's ankle, Olivia picked up one of the pre-loaded hyposprays, splaced it right above the ankle area and injected the medication into Tonya's ankle. "This is just a small amount of pain medication to help with the pain in your ankle. There is also some medication in it to help with keeping inflammation down in your ankle as well."
Olivia looked over to where Lara was looking over things there in Sickbay. "Do you have any questions I can answer for you, Lara?," Olivia asked.
"How many days should she take it easy," Lara asks, "Before she can report back to work?"
"Seems my Temporal Daughter wants to take care of me Doctor," Tonya Grinned a bit."
Lara's face glowed a bit. "That was the first time you ever refer to me as your daughter."
"Well I thought about it a bit," Tonya says rubbing Lara's hair. "Your mother is me but it is not me. Some women have adopted daughters, stepdaughters, foster daughters but I have a Temporal Daughter. Is that okay with you?"
"Yes," Lara says hugging Tonya.
"Well, let her take care of you since she is so willing to do so," Olivia replied. "How often does that happen anyway. Plus, a couple days of spoiling shouldn't hurt you either. Just make sure not to over do it and to let me know if there are any problems."
"Thank you Olivia," Tonya replied. About ten minutes later, the ankle was completely healed and the ghost spin for now seemed to be away. "Lara, you are going to have to stay in my quarters. If I stayed in yours, your father might not approve."
Lara facepalms herself. "The sooner Dad gets to home plate, the better all our lives will be."
"Agreed but it has to happen natural," Tonya says smiling, "I am now ready to see what will happen if that may happen. Unlike your natural mother, I have been to home plate with four other men. I was engaged to all four of them but they all seem to lack the one thing what makes your father special."
"That he is alive," Lara grinned.
"Well that," Tonya laughed a bit. "Your father is patient. Each one of them were so eager to get to home plate as soon as possible. What I really want is a man who wants me but is willing to wait for it. Remember that when you are being pursued by men. You should never be the pursuer but the one that is being pursued. That is the mark of a true lady." Tonya turns to Olivia, "Olivia, are we done here?"
"We are done here," Olivia replied. "If you have any problems with your ankle just let me know."
“That I shall,” Tonya said with content, “Lara, let’s go to my quarters, so you can start taking care of me.”
“Sure thing Mom,” Lara said smiling so much, her cheeks hurt.
