George was still trying to wrap his brain about what had happened during the last seventy-two hours. They were on shoreleave, then they were immediatly recalled, then word leaked down that Captain Lalor had been arrested for treason! Though George didn't know the Captain well, tbey had only sponen once or twice, he knew she was no traitor! Then, adding insult to injury, a new commanding officer had been shoved down their throughts and she was causing all kinds of chaos. He truly didn't know what to think.

Entering into the pilot's ready, he was relieved to see his immediate commanding officer. "Hey, Valkyrie, may I talk to you, privately?"

"What can I do for you. El-Tee?" Jess noted.

George shook his head slightly and shrugged. "What the hell is going on up topside? How could they say that Captain Lalor is a traitor?! I don’t understand any of this."

"El-Tee, they don't pay us knuckledraggers down here enough to think." Jess noted. "But yeah, I agree. These charges are bullshit. But the thing about Bullshit, someone smells it and starts looking for it. I think we're going to see what this is all about, we just have to be patient, keep our wits about us, and do the smart thing." Jess advised.

Nodding slightly as he listened to his boss, George then said, "I've heard about the other changes that she has done, moving senior officers around, promoting junior officers into their places. Is she changing anything eith us? Or is she leaving us alone?"

"Last I checked I am in command here. And It's going to stay that way." Jess noted. "I'm not giving this woman one inch of rope to hang me, nor any on this squadron with. And I expect you to do the same. But I will say this... She is going to f*ck up big time. We wait until that happens."

George nodded his understanding. "Yes, Ma'am. I'll always have your six. Never worry about that. You ever send up a flare, I'll be there to provide covering fire."

"Lieutenant." Jess noted. "I''m more than just a Wing Commander here. I also train Combat Pilot Cadets during my downtime. How would you like to assist in this?"

Shrugging, George replied. "I could act as the enemy for them to try and beat? I'd love to help anyway I can, Valkyrie. We lost too many good pilots over Quell'ish. I dont want that to happen again."

"I don't want you just to knock them down a peg." Jessica noted. "Good teachers explain why the student has failed. Failure in and of itself, is essential for success, apparently our Captain does not share that opinion. Yasmine Carrington is one of those types we used to know at Starfleet Academy who never failed at anything in their lives, and believes they know absolutely everything." Jess mentioned. "And it is precisely those kind of people I want to pound into the ground while they're still cadets. Perfectionists... get people killed George."

George nodded in agreement. "You are absolutely right, Valkyrie. I've known a few individuals like that myself." He shook his head slowly. People like that get us killed more than the enemy, every day."
