Mission:
Season 5: Episode 2: Operation Save Humanity
Location: Logistics Office
Timeline: MD2 10h30
1050 words - 2.1 OF Standard Post Measure
In the Logistics office, Lieutenant Junior Grade Robert Pulver, the Assistant Chief of Logistics was having a hectic day. There use to be peace and tranquility, there were not many orders but now due the the new Captain being on board and several departments like Engineers wanting to order more because they foresaw supply will be running out in a month or so, they wanted more.
Yesterday, the ship was at Starbase One and not all the orders were fulfilled. Now he was having a major anxiety attack. He marches into Lt. Manuel Fox, the Chief of Logistics who in his opinion was one of the laziest Chief he had ever worked with on any ship.
Manuel Fox by all means was not a lazy man. He believed in the old saying, "Stay calm on the surface and paddle like hell underneath". Manuel had been taking up lot of the work Pulver was missing. He just read the transfer request from Lt. Tonya King who wanted to come into his Department. One did not had to be a Rocket Scientist to know why. Seeing Pulver walked in, he looked up, "Mister Pulver. May I help you?"
Pulver looked at him. "I feel like quitting unless you get more help. We have just a few in this department now due to what happened in the Mirror Universe. Where are the replacements?"
"Well I know we lost seven and we replaced one," Fox replied. "Seems there were not a large supply of Logistics Personnel. What if I bring in one to be the new Assistant Chief. It seems you are not cut out for being the Assistant Chief."
Pulver breathed a bit. "By all means replace me and get me transferred out. I missed the old Captain. Where are you going to get one on short noticed."
"Let me handle that," Fox answered glancing at Tonya's request. "You know years ago I was on a ship called USS Valley Forge. The Chief I worked with was an amazing officer. He always said when there is too much, you just need to stop swinging your axe. Eventually the tree will fall down. This means, you must start on your tasks, you will eventually complete them."
"Thanks," Pulver said as he saluted Fox and he appropriately walked out of the office.
Fox waited for about an hour. Eventually Pulver's request came through to his console. Fox signed it and he then signed for Tonya to be transfer to Logistics. He sent both requests to Commander Lovejoy for approval.
Lovejoy saw the transfer requests cross his desk one for a Lt. Tonya King to transfer into Logistics and one for an Ensign Pulver to transfer out. He wondered about that but signed the orders, sent them back to Fox and made a note to speak to the man about the transfers.
Tonya received the message her request was granted and she had to report to Logistics in three days. She felt joy leap in her heart. "Lara," she said sitting down, "I will be the Assistant Chief of Logistics in three days."
Lara hugged Tonya. "I am so happy for you." Lara knew this Tonya was still suffering from Post Traumatic Stress and this will be best for her well being.
"Now let me call your father," Tonya said as she presses her communication badge.
"I will go in the other room to give you some privacy," Lara says as she kind of tip toes to the back.
"Victor," Tonya said in a very sexy voice, "My transfer has been approved. I hope you still can come tonight. Let's say 18 hundred hours?"
"1830," Victor counter offered, "I prefer to take a nice shower before going on a date. It is a date right?"
Tonya grinned to one side. "It is a date Sweetie. I can call you Sweetie now?"
Victor felt air caught in his throat. Coughing a bit, he replied, "Yes Sweetie. I will call you Love. Is that okay?"
Tonya chuckled, "We are acting like a couple of Teen-Agers. Yes you may. See you then."
"I am looking forward to it," Victor replied. He cut off the transmission before it got too hot.
"Lara," Tonya said raising her voice, "You can come back in."
Lara walked back in. She saw Tonya looking kind of flushed. "Mom. Are you feeling okay? You kind of looked flushed." Lars feels Tonya's forehead. "No fever."
"Oh Lara," she blushed a bit. "You will find out when you get older. Your father is beginning to arouse me. I best be careful tonight. Now I need to call Mira. I have to tell her about everything."
Lara facepalms herself. "I probably have to go into the other room again with all that grownup talk."
"First have to make sure she is a available," Tonya said winking.
Lara went to the replicator to replicate toe glasses of cold water.
Tonya made to request to talk to Mira. She was not available at the moment. After Lara handed Tonya a glass of water she smiled sweetly at Lara. "You always seem to know what I want."
"I try," Lara answered. "I will go in the back and read."
"You do that," Tonya says kissing Lara on the cheek.
Ten minutes later, Tonya's screen lit up with her sister Mira's face wearing a Victorian Robe. Mira spoke first. "I felt I did not have to change since you are in your quarters from what the computer told me from an ankle injury. You need to be more careful. This is the seventh time you have been injured."
"Actually Eighth," Tonya replied. "I no longer have a death wish. I have a life wish. I requested a transfer to Logistics after I thought about it. Perspectives of what I want in life and one of them is to get married to Victor, have children and to live. Well, actually that was three."
"That is great," Mira said with a smile. "Victor is a good man. How is Vick doing?"
"Your son is enjoying it here and he sure is growing," Tonya replied. "Do not worry. He knows you are his mother."
"I am glad," Mira breathes in a bit. "Now let's have girl talk."
So for the next twenty minutes, they talked sensitive subjects.
