***PREVIOUSLY***

A short while later, after going up one tunnel and down another, they finally emerged into a massive cavern. It was so large, that the ceiling and far walls were barely discernable from where they stood. However, in the center of the cavern, was the largest crystalline structure they had yet come across. It seemed to connect to both the far distant ceiling, and the cavern floor beneath. However, there was a jagged space in between the two.

"That's where the damage originated, isn't it?" David asked aloud.

"Yes." One replied. "Yes it is. That means that somewhere nearby, the demon is waiting.

As if on cue, there was a mighty roar and a ghostly outline of a gigantic, monstrous beast began to circle around from behind the structure and then began to stalk toward them.

The final battle had just begun...

***AND NOW THE CONCLUSION***

"Move!" One shouted as the demon bore down on the group. They quickly dodged the first attack from the demon and they quickly regrouped. Unfortunately, the giant beast was faster then they were. They would need to find cover on order to formulate a proper battle plan

Suddenly, Two stopped, and turned to face the demon, hissing loudly at it.

David turned back and shouted. "TWO, GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE!!"

Instead of replying, Two materialized a wall between him and the demon, he then pulled massive weapons from the ether and began unloading a fierce hail of fire upon the beast.

At first, the unforgiving wall of lead and energy fire caused the demon to pause. Then, slowly, steadily, it began to grow. Once it was double its original size, it lashed out, smashing the barrier in one massive blow. It then continued its advance on Two. In another massive swing of its claws, it took hold of Two and lifted him up.

Two continued to snarl and hiss at the demon. He then pulled a massive looking isometric disintigrator from the ether, aim and fired at the demon.

The resulting explosion stalled the creature, albiet briefly. Then, with smoke still covering its face, it opened its ferocious maw wide and chomped down on Two. It then slurped the rest of Two into its mouth and seemed to swallow him whole. Afterwards, it turned its gaze back to the find the others, and roared when it did.

David, One and Three had watched, speechless, as Two fought valiantly but, ultimately futily, failed to stop the beast.

One turned to David. "Take Three and get out of here, David! I'll do what I can to stop this beast." He stepped forward, between the advancing foe and the rest of the group. Suddenly, golden armor began to appear on his body, as well as a shield and long spear. He looked like a Spartan warrior of old.

Roaring louder, the demon rushed One, the two of them colliding like a pair of titans, each one struggling to overpower the other.

Slowly, One started to lose ground. His armor began to form very fine lines of damage. Then tbose lines became cracks. Then, one by one, each piece faded away completely. As each piece failed, the demon grew larger and stronger.

Feeling that its oppunent had nothing left, the demon reared back and slammed both fists down on top of One, causing the rest of the armor to completely vanish.

Scooping the unconscious One in its mighty clutches, the demon devoured him just easily as it had Two. Then, like before, it cast its bright red eyes around, looking for David and Three. When it saw them on the other side of the cavern, it roared a thunderous sound then, as its massive rear claws gained purchase in the ground, it set off after them.

"Dabid!!" Three shouted over the cacophony of the demon's roar. "Put me down! I'll pwotect you!" He struggled and squirmed, finally breaking free of the secure hold that David had been carrying him in.

"Three!!" David shouted as the uounger version of himself sprinted towards the on coming foe. David tried to follow, but found his feet frozen to the ground.

As Three circled the beast, he began pelting it with a seemingly unlimited supply of snowballs.

At first, the demon was unsure what to do with such an insignificant opponent. Finally, it simply swatted Three with its whip-like tail.

The strike sent Three sailing back to David. He managed to break on of his feet free during the short fight. Three sailed past his head and slammed into the nearby wall with a sicking crunch, as he broke his other free. He quickly ran over to check on Three.

David dropped to his knees when he reach the broken and lifeless remains of Three. As he sat there, weeping, the demon stomped over and slammed a massive paw down to crush David.

And froze.

Snarling in confusion, the demon reared back again, this time bringing both front paws crashing down atop David.

And froze.

Kneeling on the ground, face still turned down towards Three's body, David's eyes suddenly flashed open, tgeir normal cerulean color now amplified to near white. "No more." The words he said reverberated through the entire chamber.

Suddenly seeming to be afraid, the demon started to wildly swing and smash its claws down at David. Everytime the got close, there were blocked by an invisible field.

David got to his feet slowly, but with purpose. A look of growing rage filling his features. Turning to face the demon, he began to advance on it. "No more pain!" Twin beams of energy shot from his eyes, striking tge gigantic beast in the chest, forcing it back, howling in pain and fear.

"No more death." Another set of beams shot out, hitting the beast in its back as it tried to climb the walls to escape. It fell to the cavern floor, howling and chittering in anguish.

"No more loss." A third set of beams shot out striking tge beast directly between its beady eyes. Its head snapped back and it began to whimper and shink in size.

Stepping up and placing his left boot on the much smalker chest of the demon, David glared down at it. "I am in control here." He blasted a pair of solid hot white beams down into the beast's face. And he kept blasting it, as the demon melted away. It its place, was a chunk of crystal that looked like it would fit into the break.

Reaching down, he tried to lift it, but it wouldn't budge. He tried several more times, with the same results. Finally, he closed his eyes and concentrated. Bending down again, he grasped the crystal and tried to lift. At first he had the same result.

But suddenly, it started to move. Opening his eyes, he looked down to see another set of hands on the crystal, then another and finally a third. One, Two and Three were back by his side helping him lift the crystal back into place.

"See, David," One said smiling softly. "Told you we would help you. Only you were able to fight the beast inside of you."

Finally, they got the piece situated right above where it belongs. "Will I ever see you guys again?" David asked, suddenly sad to be losing three friends.

"See? Yes, David." One said warmly. "Everytime you look in a mirror, you will see us. We are part of you, forever. Together."

Two clicked and whistled, smiling.

Three tugged on David's hand, to look down at him. "Togever, fowever."

David smiled, finally understanding. He looked over at the piece and, after all four reached up, shoved it back into place.

Instantly, the caveren was bathed in a blinding white light, and then, slowly, David opened his eyes, "Baeryn...?"
