As he was already armed with everything he needed, Mattias was waiting to Malakai to get changed out of his suit and into something more suitable for their excursion. While he waited, he doublechecked all his power and ammo readings. Thus far, he had only used about 2% of his reserve power. He had more than enough.

Malakai came out a few minutes later he had on his own customized Armor . It covered his torso, arms and upper legs. It was light but could take an incredible amount of abuse. It was equipped with wrist phasers and a shoulder mounted rocket launcher and his other toys secreted about his person. "I'm ready. Lets do this."

Mattias nodded. "How do you wanna do this? I was thinking that as you're better at demo, you wire the place, while I'll cover you, as I'm better with the rifle. That, or we just knock on the front door and kill anyone who tries to stop us."

"As much as I like the second idea, I think the first is a better option. Blow the place to smithereens and kill anything that gets in our way. " Malakai replied.

"Alright, from the sensor readings I took earlier, I xan keep you covered from on high everywhere except the hanger located on the back side of the complex."

"That's okay. When the place starts going up, people are going to be running around like chickens with their heads cut off. I can handle it."

If Malakai could see Mattias's face, he'd see a slight grin. "Okay, better if we split here. I'll high and begin my overwatch on the southwest corner of the complex. When you move, I'll follow. But you wait to move until i have you covered, yeah?!"

"Mattias, I know. This isn't my first time blowing things up. Lets just go and get it done, so I can get back to Kara and you can get back to Lily."

Mattias held out his right gauntlet. "Good luck...brother."

Malakai shook it without hesitation. He respected Mattias as a warrior and his skill as such. The man was a complete professional. "Good luck to you to Matt." He said sincerely.

Releasing Malakai’s hand, Mattias drew his large ice axes and, after looking at the building in front of him, crouched down and leaped, the pistons and hydrolics of the suit giving him the ability to jump twelve feet straight up. He swung both axes and connected with the blank wall. After extending ice claws from his boot, he quickly scaled the twelve story building. A few beats after he creasted the top, he radioed Malakai the all clear.

Malakai replied with a crisp and to the point "roger" and got to work setting his toys. One was set at the doors. Another was placed by what looked like a subspace receiver. He placed still another at what looked like a storage facility. He gave each a timer of thirty seconds, set them and informed Mattia to let him know. Then he sat back to watch the fireworks.

As soon as the explosions began, it was like someone had turned on the light and the cockroaches immediately began to scramble for cover. Immediatly, some of the guards who had rushed out of the collapsing structure saw Malakai and began firing upon his position. Mattias aimed down his long rifle and began expertly eliminating one after another. "You're clear Mal, get moving. We got more structure to destroy!"

"On it!" Malakai replied as he dashed to the next structure using Mattias's rifle fire as cover. The next structure to receive his attention was a electric transmitter. A package explosive was set at it's base and the timer set. He radio Mattias. "Another package set to go Matt." As he waited for the next display of explosions.

"Grab cover!" Came his answer. "I gotta move to a new vantage point!"

Mattias could see Malakai taking fire, and giving the enemy hell in return. Then he saw an armored mech unit starting to move in. "Mal! Heavy walker approaching from your five o'clock!!" He added more speed to his movements. "In position in ten seconds!"

Malakai had taken cover behind a small wall that was rapidly crumbling under enemy fire. "I'll have a surprise for them in eight." He snapped back. as he took a small round device and waited for the walker to get closer. Once it had he lobbed the device in front of the walker and watched with immense satisfaction at the walker's legs buckled and it crashed to the ground and exploded in a ball of fire. "Headed to the hanger, going to take out their shuttles." He told Mattias.

"Wait! I can't cover you over there!" The massive explosion of the walker and it's munitions caused Mattias's screen to white out briefly. "Shit! That prick must've had a couple mini torps on board!" Slowly, his screen started to work again. If he was going to help Malakai by the hanger, he'd have to get to the ground, fast.

As he leapt from one roof to the next he saw a hoverfighter approaching from his ten o'clock, heading straight for where Malakai was. "Aerial inbound, your seven! I've got em! Keep your head down a few more seconds!"

Malakai didn't answer, he just kept moving towards the hanger, he needed to stop the shuttles from taking off. It was the only way they could hope to rescue Josie.

Mattias saw that the fighter was going to pass by the building he was currently on, at a few floors lower, as it was on its final approach. He suddenly had a crazy idea.

Double checking the math quickly, he made the decision. He crouched and waited two beats, then started running. When he was about eight feet from the edge, he leapt up, allowing gravity to alter his arc as he cleared the building. "COWABUNGA!!"

The pilot and gunner had the target lined up and were almost in kill range. Suddenly, a large armored being landed in between them.

Mattias landed about dead center. Not bad, he thought to himself. "Hey, guys, mind if I bum a ride?" He swung his left ax, removing the top half of the gunner cleanly, and reached down and grabbed the pilot's head, squeezing his hand closed until it popped like a ripe berry. He then saw that he was about to crash, so he leapt clear, tucking and rolling as he hit the duracrete below.

Malakai saw Mattia and the jet crash but as he started towards it, he saw Mattias roll clear apparently uninjured. "You okay?"

Getting up, he replied. "Now THAT was FUN!"

Malakai shook his head, "You're crazy." He replied as he waited for Mattias to join him.

As the pair reached the hanger area, Cragen's shuttle had already lifted off and rocketed away. A handful of security started to fire on the pair of warriors

Malakai dove for cover, grabbing Mattias and pulling him down as well. "Now is not the time to be posing for pictures."

After Malakai pulled him down and the fire started to let up, Mattias grinned behind his helmet and said to Malakai, "Watch this." As he stood up from the crater, he activated a control on his weapons board. From a large case on his back, a multi barreled cannon emerged, sliding up and locking into place on his right shoulder.

The security guards paused at this sight.

The phaser minigun started to spin up. "My turn." Mattias said in a singsong voice. Then, all hell broke loose as the minigun opened up. The gun's barrels were vision locked, meaning they pointed wherever he looked. After a few seconds it was all over.

Mattias helped Malakai up and the pair exited the crater. Looking around at the devastation, Mattias said, "Damn, we wreck shit good together. They should call us the Smash Brothers!"

Malakai chuckled, "Smash or Bash either works for me." He answered with a smile looking at the devastation the two of them had caused. He looked to Matt, his voice sad, "Cragen got away. Him and Josie. I saw him loading her into the shuttle, she was nude, bound and gagged."

Looking skyward, Mattias replied. "Yeah, I know. But we'll find them, kill him and bring her home. Its what we do."

Malakai nodded, "Amen to that with extreme prejudice. No mercy for the bastard.

As Malakai was speaking, Mattias saw one of the security troops start to lift what looked like an rpg. "Mal!" Without thinking, Mattias stepped between Malakai and the guard. At that same instant, a secondary explosion rocked the area, killing the guard. But not before he fired. Thankfully, the shot wentvshallow and exploded on the ground a few feet behind Mattias. Unfortunatly, the blast still hit him pretty hard in the back. He was thrown to the ground, hard.

"I'm...grrrg...I'm good..just feel...like I kicked ...by a mule." He stood up. Looking at his readouts, everything was red. "Gotta...get back..get back to the ship! Suit power is low. I...I can make it!" He started back to where their ship was waiting, about three kilometers away.

Malakai looked at the damage to the armor. It had taken the brunt of the blast but had still peeled like an orange. He picked Matt up. "Come on, lean on me, you aren't heavy, your my brother." He quipped as they headed for the ship.

Mattias gladly took the assitance. Together, they made it back to the shuttle without any further disturbance.

Mattias had Malakai enter first, then he climbed aboard and sealed the hatch. "All...all good, Tinkerbell! Get us outta here!" He then decided to sit foen on the deck and lean against the bulkhead. He was suddenly very tired.

Jaxon nodded. "On our way. Eta to Black Watch 2 minutes. "

Phoenix’s voice came over the comm. "Matt? Are you guys okay?"

Mattias didn't answer.

Now her holographic projection appeared. "Matt?! Shit Malakai he is bleeding!"

Malakai reacted instantly. "Shit!" He exclaimed as he grabbed a power blade and began to cut the armor away from Mattias. As he got more and more of the armor away he could see several shrapnel wounds in Mattia's back. All which were bleeding profusely. "Get Medbay ready Lily!"

Mattias looked up at Malakai, his face drawn and his color greying. "Hey....broth....." his head lolled to the side as he passed out from blood loss.

Malakai held to Jaxon, "Gun it Jason! Mattias is hurt..... bad!" He then looked down at the unconscious Mattias. "Hang on Mattias, you gotta hang on. Lily and Kara need you." He then grabbed a blanket and pressed it Mattia's back applying direct pressure to the wounds to at least slow down the blood loss.

Jaxon gunned the engines. "Let Kara know we are coming in hot to Black Watch. We have injured."

Kara was already standing behind Phoenix listening to the comms chatter, she didn’t need to know Mattias was injured she already knew. They’d had a close connection ever since they were kids, more of a bond and Kara could feel her brother’s pain. “I’ll have Sickbay prepped and ready!”

OFF
