Posted on Fri Jul 9th, 2021 @ 10:50am by Commander Arrianna Salannis an Vantar & Lieutenant Commander Kara Starr {Kelea-Salik}

Mission: Darkness Rising - A Phoenix Lalor Sub Plot
Location: Equinox Medical Bay
Timeline: MD-17 1100 Hrs
914 words - 1.8 OF Standard Post Measure

Arrianna was in the medical bay allowing Kara to do some scans on her heart. Inside was a cluster of Nanites she was most concerned about. She needed them removed, Or Cragen could possibly kill her by remote. They were the same nanites that helped him control his slaves.

Kara was busy reading up on nanites, she hadn’t dealt with them very much. “How did you even get nanites in your system? Does Cragen have a supply of them?”

"He put them in there to keep us from killing him." Arri noted. "Along with his coercion drugs. If anyone kills him, all his slaves die. We need them out, Kara." She mentioned. "And Josie will need them out if we're to ever reverse his brainwashing."

Kara nodded. “He’s more devious than any of us gave him credit for. Is there any chance these nanites could be programmed to resist tampering? We don’t need them triggering on their own.”

"Possibly, but they make me sick... As long as they remain in me. Cragen can possibly retrieve me or blackmail me. I will not be enslaved again." Arri mentioned. And right now. Arrianna does not exist..." I'm thinking they're not too far removed from Borg Implants. My people have developed treatments designed to neutralize Borg Nanites."

“Seriously? That could be of great benefit against the Borg, not that there’s been much sign of them recently.” Kara smiled. “So what do we have to do?”

"We have to somehow get this technology without giving ourselves away." Kate noted. "That means, finding some way to speak to my cousin without saying. "ti's me, Arri."

“Is there a way I could do it? I am medical staff after all” Kara looked at Kate curiously. “Could we telepathically communicate so that I know what to say to her?”

"Or... we steal it..." Arri noted. "We're going to try and hack the Scholar's collage and take the data. When we do, I can send a discrete message to my cousin." Arri mentioned. "Requesting Project Liberation's research."

“Okay” Kara nodded. “If successful it’ll save us a lot of hassle, if unsuccessful...” she gave Kate a look. “We’d best not let it track back to here.”

"It takes an Alindari to hack the Alindari Great University. Kara." She noted. "My people are one of excellence personified. That is our driving force... To acquire as much knowledge, wisdom, and enlightenment as we possibly can. We'll get one chance at this. Then they'll figure out what has happened."

Kara nodded. “Then it’s all yours” She offered a smile. “one way or another we’ll help you, and the other slaves. We’ll get Josie back too.”

Ari sat down at a computer. Good. Once I grab the data We'll have to work constantly. The other slaves will need this. I'll need a vial for Josie... And I'll need two other vials."

“Two other vials? One for you and who else?” Kara looked at Kate curiously.

"Actually four. Me, Josie... and a man named Bishop and a slave named Clara in Cragen's organization."Arrianna noted. "Kara. Bishop only serves Cragen out of fear.. Fear for a slave named Clara that he's become fond of... Much like I became my other persona just so the pain would stop." Arri explained. "I intend to offer Bishop and Clara emancipation from Cragen, so they can redeem themselves by leading us directly to that son of a bitch. If he agrees, we'll be in a position to dismantle Cragen's entire organization from the inside, out. We'll have Bishop's knowledge as well, and what his former pet knows about him." Arri noted. "Kara... the First Empress once said. 'The greatest way to win a war, is to make your enemy your friend.'

Kara nodded. “I remember Bishop, he was there when I met Cragen. It sounds like a good plan, the sooner we can bring down Cragen the better!”

"There is not one person in that organization that is not a slave... Even if they don't have shackles... those are the worst slaves of all." Arri mentioned. "And if we are to take him down.. They must be show their chains are broken. All of them... And their minds must be restored as well. Get some Coffee. When we're not on mission, nor resting or sleeping. We're working on this."

Kara nodded. “No coffee overload for me, not in my condition!” She smiled. “We can do this, we’ll free those slaves.”

"And don't strain your child... Kara..." Arri noted. "I truly want this crew to follow me onto the Elysium. They are a bit rough around the edges.." Arri chuckled. "But so is Aurelia Taylor."

“I already asked about that one, I’d like to transfer to the Elysium after all this is over.” Kara smiled. She blushed as her stomach growled. “Sorry, I haven’t eaten that much yet can I get you anything?”

Arri smiled. "You'll love Dr. Sthilg. And you're sitting while we're working. I so want to be there when your child is born Kara. Let me get you and I some food. Do you have a preference?"

“There’s a tray programmed in just for me under Kara 1” she smiled. “And please tell me more about this doctor Sthilg.

Arrianna got the food for Kara nd herself and brought it over. "There has never been a more masterful Gorn as a Dcotor. He's truly a professional."
