Mission: MISSION 0 - History Speaks
Location: Some bar somewher
963 words - 1.9 OF Standard Post Measure

Leena Var walked into a bar on an alien outpost. Saying the same thing again and again. 'I'm not Shaleena Vais anymore.' She walked through the loud music of the bar looking for someone. She needed a loan for something that was illegal in Federation Space.

"Hello, young one." A Ferengi noted.

"I need a loan for a Romulan Shrike Class Heavy Fighter." Leena noted.

"Becoming a mercenary are we? Hmm... no... but I can sponsor you for a modest take from your contracts...."

"Not interested." Shalenna noted. It seemed all these people wanted to use her.

Bishop sat at a table. he had been recruiting some hired help for Cragen's forces and he couldn't help but hear the exchange between the Betazoid female and the Ferengi. He rose and made his way to her. "Excuse me Miss. I believe I can help you in what you desire. Please join me at my table."

Leena looked at the man then walked over and sat down. "Well now... What help would you give me?" She noted.

"I can get you the Romulan Shrike Class Heavy Fighter. You were asking about without a loan." Bishop replied casually. "Would you like something to drink by the way?"

"Saurian Brandy" She ordered. "So.. What would I have to do for this. Remember this is the finest fighter in the Romulan Navy. Regenerative Shields, Ablative Armor... Cloaking Device." Leena noted. "And the catch is?"

Bishop smiled, " I am well aware of the fighter's capabilities. I'm Michael Bishop by the way Miss? And the only catch is that you come work for me or rather my employer who wishes his name to reman secret for now. You will be well paid for your services."

She sighed. "Leena Var." She tossed her long blonde hair to another side. But my real name is Shaleena Vais. But I had a breakup, under bad terms, with Starfleet. And I want a fresh start.. All of them... Assholes. Same as everyone else."

"A fresh start I can understand. However I believe you are lumping all your eggs in one basket. Not everyone is an asshole."

"Why does it feel like everyone is abandoning what they are supposed to be.. I once believed in the 'duty of starfleet' but what happens when your superiors don't uphold it." Shaleena noted. "I am tired... Tired of this... Tired of everything." She sighed. "I was with my crew. When we got caught in the Mirror Universe... They tortured us... and after six hours of it... I was different."

The Mirror Universe? I've heard of it." Bishop replied. " An being tortured for six hours would change anyone. But in my opinion you are comparing this universe's characters and giving them Mirror Universe traits that you were exposed to."

"I just had to leave. Micheal Bishop." Shaleena noted. "It just didn't feel like I belonged there.. I'm so angry. They wanted me to fly a shuttle for a bunch of Admirals." Shaleena noted.

"And you have the soul of a fighter pilot correct?" He probed.

Shaleena nodded. "I'm a eagle... not a pigeon." She noted. "Anyway. I'll do what your boss requires.. Just so I can fly again. Soar unhindered through the stars."

"Spoken as a true flyer." Bishop noted. "Very good, you just have to follow either his or my orders. Will that be a problem?"

"No... It will just be one contract of many. I'll just be professional and not make it personal." Leena noted.

"Hmm. Yes. That may present a problem. My employer insists on his employees working for him exclusively." Bishop replied, looking at Leena.

Leena thought a moment. "Exclusivity? I suppose I'll owe you a debt until my fighter is paid off.. Very well. I have honor Bishop. I agree to the Exclusive contract. You now have one of the finest fighter graduates from Commander Vaii's flight school."

"No debt as long as you remain true to your word." Bishop informed her. "Welcome to our little company. I'm sure you will find the work most stimulating."

"Just as long as I do not see a man named; Garrett Lovejoy again. We're good. I have wounds in my past Mr. Bishop. Some have healed, others have not." She noted. She was beautiful for a blonde with long hair that went spetacularly with her black leather jacket and black leather pants.

"Garrett Lovejoy? I do not know the name but I am reasonably sure we can keep you from crossing paths with him." Bishop answered with a smile.

"Six hours of unspeakable torture, I don't feel pain anymore.. To me.. it's like an old friend. But I am angry, Micheal Bishop. Enough to tear everything to pieces. Shoot it, bomb it. smash it." Leena noted. "And I really, really want to hate everything.. But I can't. I just don't have the will to."

"Would you like a piece of advice? You need to put the past in the past and move forward. You aren't doing yourself any good and you won't do me and my employer any good if you can't. I need you clear headed, to listen and follow ord... um instructions and not argue."

"Instructions, orders.." Shaleena noted. "All the same to me now. I'm a professional now, and it will never be personal again. Let's go. I want to meet this employer of yours."

"By all means. Let us go." Bishop replied as he downed the rest of his drink in one gulp and rose from his chair to escort Shaleena out of the bar.
