Timeline: After "Hello Naxea"
1407 words - 2.8 OF Standard Post Measure

The gentle click of three sets of hooves echoed throughout the Elysium corridor, as did the intense rumble of their Sequus throats.

"Are you quite certain this is necessary?" Anne sighed, glancing to her left to focus more on S'hib.

"Yes Ambassador," He replied with a tired nod. "As I said earlier... It's standard Starfleet policy that all crew staying aboard a vessel submit for a full medical examination."

"And this Doctor of yours, you said he's a Gorn?" She said with an air of concern.

S'hib smiled briefly as he turned to face the High Priestess. "Yes, Doctor Sthilg is a Reptillian, though don't be fooled by his appearance... he's actually rather friendly."

The only warning he got as he rounded the corner was a delighted squeal of "S'hib!" And then Miraj hurled herself at him, throwing her arms around his waist and hugging him as hard as she could. Which wasn't very, but the sheer exuberance of her greeting was more than enough to push him back a step.

"Miraj!" S'hib neighed loudly, finding his hooves before returning the gesture, his long legs bending low before curving his long neck and resting his chin against her back.

The sudden encounter though a pleasant surprise for S'hib, startled Anne and T'han into recoiling several steps to compose themselves.

"T'han lower the staff..." Anne breathed out heavily, resting a hand atop the phase staff. "I doubt she means to kill me with affection..." She added, her heart beating quickly in her chest.

"Shib! Where have you been? When did you get back? Is everything okay? No-one knew where you were. Does Naxea know you're back? Have you talked to her about the hair thing yet? Are you -" The question died on her lips as she saw the two other sequus, one was pointing some sort of long lance at her. That was male. The other one was female. It was very easy to figure that out because they were both completely naked. She made a strangled noise, as her squeak of shock and surprise turned into an embarrassed gulp. She suddenly found the floor and the walls very interesting.

"I've been on Sequella," He said excitedly, putting his hands on her shoulders and taking in all her features at arm's length. "it's a long story but I got back while all the away teams were on the surface... Though as you can see I didn't come alone." He added, though before he could continue he was interrupted by Ambassador An'Dalus.

"Is this humanoid part of your herd, Commander?" She said with a raised eyebrow, somewhat amused at the idea of the notion of interspecies relations between her kind.

"No, not exactly Ambassador..." He snorted back before moving to stand beside Miraj, keeping a hand on the back of her shoulder and affectionately rubbing the back of her neck. "Miraj, this is High Priestess An'Dalus... and her Sovereign T'handu," S'hib motioned, waving his free hand at both respectively. "They will be staying aboard the Elysium to act as Ambassador to my people."

Miraj was very quick to get to eye contact with the the Sequus woman, "Pleased to meet you. And your friend." She didn't trust herself to look at the other one at all, and she could feel her face heating up to match her hair.

"Friends might be pushing it..." She smiled, taking a few strides forward before squatting down to eye level with Miraj. "He's ok in small doses, though unfortunately we're glued to the hip..." She teased, getting a loud disapproving snort from T'han as he slammed the staff into the deck and stood to attention, though finding his eyes flicking back down to Miraj and her vividly pink hair.

The sudden noise had Miraj looking in the younger sequus direction on instinct, then instantly wishing she hadn't, because whilst the Ambassador was at eye height, she could see far too much of him. She looked away rapidly. Why wouldn't these people put on clothes? S'hib managed to.

The Ambassador crouching down to her height made her feel like she was three years old again to boot, She wasn't short, for a (mostly) human. But it was obvious the woman was a lot taller than she was. "So are you going to like, officiate the wedding?"

"I'm afraid I'm not familiar with many humanoid customs or traditions..." Anne said as she raised back up, tilting her head towards S'hib for clarification as she smoothed down the myriad number of individual beads that were draped over her chest and shoulders, all coalescing into a tall choker that wrapped up the entire length of her neck.

"It's a common tradition amongst many species in and out of the Federation, Ambassador..." S'hib started, resisting the urge to flick Miraj on the ear. "Two individuals who are mated... officiate their union either for religious or other reasons, though I'm not very well versed on the concept myself despite being the one getting married..." He snorted, looking down at Miraj with an odd frown.

"I see..." Anne replied with a puzzled look on her face. "Quite unusual this monogamy... though I must admit you'd be spoilt for choice on Sequella, especially sporting such a delightful mane." She quipped, moving her stubby but well kept hoofed digits through Miraj's hair, idly discarding loose strands to one side.

"Tell me though, little filly, considering you all have such a strange habit of hiding behind woven masks... is all of your hair as vibrant as a coastal Lilly." She snorted, her words pleasant but carrying a demanding tone.

S'hib meanwhile was stifling a laugh, his top lip quivering back and forth from serious officer to close friend wanting nothing more than to tease.

Davy Jones hairy hole! Why was that what everyone wanted to know? She looked away from the sequus. She was a foreign dignitary and she seemed to expect an answer like it was no different from asking her eye colour or her pronouns. The young hybrid glanced at S'hib very quickly, trying to guess but he looked serious enough in that instant. "Er, yes, ma'am. Carpet matches the curtains."

"Hm... I've not heard that one before." The high priestess mused before snapping her eyes onto S'hib, scowling at him. "What's the matter with you?" She snorted abruptly, wiping any vestige of a smile he had off his face.

"Nothing, Ambassador... we should get going though," He replied somewhat submissively, patting Miraj on the back. "I don't want to keep Sthilg waiting...he's a busy man."

"Of course, lead the way Commander..." Anne nodded before briefly tapping her forehead with two digits and then placing them on Miraj's ridges. "You should come by our quarters sometime," Anne said softly, tracing them down to the tip of her nose before slowly retreating her hand.

"Your mane would look wonderful tied up in some traditional Sequellian styles and I'd gladly teach them to you... Though I must confess selfishly I simply want to admire its wonderful colour."

Miraj let out a little squeak as the large female touched her face, not expecting the contact. She was totally going to talk to S'hib before she agreed to anything. She knew sequus's were touchy-feely but the high priestess's comment felt awfully like a line her brother would try in a bar too, and she'd just been asked about her pubes so she had no idea what to make of the invitation. "Okay, Well yes, you shouldn't keep the Doctor waiting, I hope you like the ship. She's lovely. I'll see you around. It was nice to meet you. Bye."

She quickly hurried away, with an awkward squeeze past the black haired male and a panicked glare at S'hib.

They all stood in silence for a moment as Miraj took off, turning and leaving the opposite direction themselves. "These humanoids are very peculiar..." Anne snorted.

"You get used to it, they have a lot more social barriers than we do... very individualistic and private when it comes to their bodies." S'hib snorted back as they clicked along, turning briefly once his ears found a third pair of hooves missing.

An'Dalus too turned once she saw S'hib had, slowing her stride to bark an order. "T'han! keep up!" She snorted loudly, her voice booming down the corridor.

"Apologies priestess." He neighed, his voice a mixture of embarrassment and frustration as he quickly clicked towards her.
