Phoenix hunted down Kara in medical and with a smirk dragged her off to a room for a chat.

Kara couldn’t help but wonder what it was she’d done to be dragged off for a private talk with Phoenix. “Have I done something wrong?”

Phoenix shook her head. "No way." She said and held out her left hand. "Your brother came up to scratch" She said with a grin. Her hand had a ring on it.

“Are you serious!?” Kara’s smile practically shone as she looked at a Phoenix’s engagement ring. “Phoenix that’s wonderful, Congratulations!!” She gave Phoenix a quick hug before stepping back. “The two of you were always meant to be.”

Phoenix laughed. "So now my mother is harping on the wedding and basically stating that it needs to happen sooner rather than later, which of course suits Mattias, but has me in a bind. Will you be my second bridesmaid? behind Miran?"

“Me?” Kara looked at Phoenix in surprise for a moment. “I...Yes! I’d be honoured.”

Phoenix grinned "Thank you." She said honestly. "That's a relief off of my mind. It will be in July."

“Well at least I won’t be bulging at the seams by then! That’ll put me around five months, so a moderate bump to cover depending on how much I end up showing.” Kara grinned.

"Oh and Ezri. I need a flowergirl. Can I please have Ezri to fill that role?" Phoenix asked softly.

Kara paused she hadn’t even given her daughter a thought. “I think I’d like that” she smiled warmly. “I’ll have to ask Mal to arrange it. To be honest I’ve been giving some thought to...” she paused again. “I want my daughter back Phoenix, she knows I’m her mum yet she lives so far away we barely see each other. I want to be the mum I should be.”

"Good. Because her Aunty Phee wants to spoil her and she can grow up with her cousins and siblings." Phoenix nodded. "Tell Malakai to use my name if he gets issues around transport and talk to Ops for family quarters."

Kara nodded. “I will, thank you Phoenix. This means more than you could ever know!” She grinned. “Can I ask a favour?”

Phoenix smiled and nodded.

“Don’t tell Matt, I want Ezri’s arrival and role to be a complete surprise for him!”

"I will keep it a complete secret, I promise. I can keep stuff from him, its easy, I will just distract him if he gets curious." Phoenix smirked.

Kara grinned. “Thank you Phoenix. I just have to warn Mal to be on his best behaviour! You know what Matt and Mal are like when they’re together.”

Phoenix smiled at that "Well we both have our ways of keeping them keeping their cool."

Kara nodded. “Indeed we do. I’m just happy that Matt is happy, he’s chosen wisely in you Phoenix. I’ve never seen him as happy as he is now, not since...” she paused. “I thought I’d lost him for a while after what happened to his family, you’ve given Matt reason to live again.”

"He has always been special to me Kara, you know that Matt and I have known each other for ages. I am happy he is happy."

Kara nodded. “So tell me more about your wedding plans, that’s if you’ve got to make many as yet.”

"No not many. Its going to be held on Earth, I have asked Sthilg to give me away in the human tradition. Erisian Traditions are not the best."

Kara nodded. “That’s a lovely idea, I like Sthilg he’s a pleasure to work with. Is Matt involved with any of the planning?”

"He is selecting his best man and groomsman and then we can get down to the details. Though if he had his way, we would be married already."

“Of that I've no doubt!” Kara grinned. “I’m glad he’s got you Phee, I know that you two are going to be the best couple.”

"Well we work on it." Phoenix said softly. "I dont want to hurt him Kara."

“I know that Phee!” Kara gave Phoenix a hug. “I’m looking forward to having you as my sister-in-law.”

Phee hugged her back and smiled. "I always wanted more sisters."

“I always wanted a sister too!” Kara smiled. “You’ll be a wonderful auntie too.”

"Darn Straight, i am going to spoil my niece so be prepared"

Kara grinned. “I’ve no problem with that! In-fact I can’t wait for the two of you to meet.”
