A Happy Reunion

Fernando relaxed on the couch. He was home with Heather and Cody their away mission to the Jefferson over and the majority of the Jefferson's crew safely recovered. He was tired and he was sure heather was as well but it was a happy tired now that he was reunited with his loved ones. They were the most precious people in the universe to him. "Heather." He called out, "Would you like something to eat and munch on? As I'm getting Cody his bottle."

Heather emerged from the bedroom in a nightdress she knew Fernando liked seeing her in, at the end of shift she enjoyed getting out of her uniform and into something more comfortable. “Yes please Imzadi, but first ...” She moved over to Fernando giving him a romantic kiss. “I’ve missed you!”

Fernando turned and smiled as Heather came from the bedroom in the nightdress, he liked seeing her in. His arms wrapped around her holding her comfortably close as he returned the romantic kiss. "I missed you too, my love, my life. "I do so enjoy our time alone." He whispered as he kissed her neck, "What would you like to drink and munch on?"

“Hmm hard question” Heather smiled as she settled down on the sofa beside Fernando. “Surprise me!” She grinned as she picked up Cody giving their young son a gentle cuddle. “I’ve missed you both so much!”

"I can certainly do that." Fernando answered with a smile as he went into the kitchen. Once there he thought on what he could fix for heather and himself. He decided to fix two glasses of iced tea and then he out with a plate of chicken wings they could munch on with some sweet and sour sauce. "Here we go Heather, see what you think." As he placed the wings and drinks on the coffee table.

“Mmmm Chicken wings!” Heather grinned. “You know me too well, I love chicken!” She picked up a wing and dipped it in the sauce before carefully eating the meat off the wing bones. “Mmm... delicious!” She smiled before adjusting her nightdress so she could try feeding their son.

So far breast feeding had been a little hit and miss, which made Heather feel like she was letting her son down. Now she was more relaxed Cody seemed to have relaxed into it, she smiled the bigger smile yet as he started feeding. “I’m doing it Fernando! Cody is feeding!!”

Fernando beamed at Heather. "You certainly are!' He agreed happily. "I knew you could Heather. You and Cody just needed to get on the same page." As he leaned forward and got a wing and like Heather dipped it in some sauce. Taking a bite, he looked to Heather, "Your right, this is delicious."

Picking up another wing Heather relaxed back in her seat letting Cody settle into his feeding. “This is amazing, being a family. I was worried about you when we were off ship, and it was a horrible sensation being off ship away from Cody.”

"It is the best feeling in the world." Fernando agreed as he picked up his glass and sipped on it before getting another wing. "I was worried about you as well Heather and then I worried about Cody but we're all together now a family as it should be."

Heather nodded. “Once this little man is asleep I’m going to show you just how much I’ve missed you.” She leant in and gave Fernando another kiss.

"I like the sound of that." Fernando said happily a bright smile on his face as he looked at Cody. "Be a good boy Cody and fall asleep quickly so Mommy and Daddy can spend some quality time together."

Heather grinned as she looked at Fernando, she could see he was tired and she knew she was as well. She just hoped Cody slept before the two of them fell asleep with him, otherwise their romantic ideas would have to wait.

Fernando stifled a yawn and reached for Heather. His hand encircling hers as he said. "I love you, Heather De La Rosa. I love you very much."

“I love you too Imzadi.” Heather smiled warmly. “With all my heart and soul.” She rested her head on his shoulder as she marvelled at the tiny bundle that she was cradling. It was hard to believe that she was a mother, even though Cody wasn’t her own flesh and blood, she would always treat him as such.

Fernando leaned over and kissed Heather on her cheek. He looked down at Cody who was resting comfortably in Heather's embrace. "This is nice, just sitting here with you and Cody and just enjoying your company and the peace and quiet. I could do this forever and never complain." He finished as he looped an arm around Heather and held her close.

Heather nodded in agreement. “As much as this is magical I’d still like a child of our own one day. I will forever treat Cody as our child, but I want to give you a baby that’s truly ours.”

"Heather, Cody is our child. However, I know what you mean, and nothing would make me happier for you to have a child that is a union of us both." Fernando replied with a smile. "Would you like a girl for our next child my precious Heather?"

Heather nodded. “A girl would be nice, but I’d be happy no matter what we’d have.” She smiled warmly. “It looks like Cody is falling asleep...” She offered a smile as their little bundle closed his eyes.

"Well said my Betazoid Rose. I feel exactly the same way." Fernando replied as he looked down at the now sleeping Cody. "Let's put him to bed and pray he stays asleep for then I can show you just how much I love you, Heather."

Gently lifting Cody, Heather gently lay him down in the Moses basket they had for him. She smiled as he slept on. “Looks like we might be in luck.” Lifting the basket she took it to the nursery and rested it inside the cot they had for safety.
Leaning down she kissed Cody on the forehead.

Fernando stood in the doorway as he looked at Heather placing Cody inside his cot before kissing him on the forehead. As he watched Heather, he again thought on just how lucky he was to have found, fallen in love and married Heather. She was his soulmate; their love was passionate and timeless. It would go on as longs as stars filled the skies.

Heather turned to see Fernando standing watching her. “What?” She grinned as she walked across to him.

Fernando smiled brightly at Heather, "Just thinking how lucky I am to have met, fallen in love and married you, Heather. I am the happiest man in the universe." He finished as he opened his arms to hug and hold her. As Heather got closer, he began to sing The Righteous Brothers Unchained Melody.

Heather wiped away a few emotional tears, Fernando knew just how to touch her heart. “That’s beautiful Imzadi. I love you with all my heart I always will.”

Fernando's arms closed around Heather as he held her. "And I love you Heather with all my heart, now and forever." As he finished by kissing her softly on the lips.

Heather returned Fernando’s kiss just as tenderly. “Let’s go to our room, I want to show you just how much you mean to me.”

Fernando leaned back but still held Heather in his embrace, A smile danced across his face and his eyes were alight with delight. "Now, that is what I call music to my ears. Let's go."

Nodding Heather walked to the bedroom with Fernando, as they entered the room she paused long enough to wrap her arms around his neck, and kiss him passionately.

Stopping, Fernando placed his hands on Heather's trim waist and returned the kiss with equal passion. "I will always love you, Heather." He whispered into her ear, then softly kissed the silky smooth skin of her neck. "Let me show you just how much."

Heather nodded as her hands ran over Fernando’s body. “Yes, please!”

"Your wish is my command, Heather." Fernando whispered as he bent down and scooped Heather into his arms and carried her to their bed, where he gently laid her upon it. That done he began to slowly unbutton her dress, kissing her while doing it. As Fernando unbuttoned Heather's dress, he began to sing again.

Heather giggled. “As much as I love your singing...” she pulled him to her locking lips with him passionately as her fingers worked on his clothing.

Fernando chuckled at Heather's statement even as she worked on undoing his clothing. "I love you so much Heather." He muttered as she pulled his shirt off.

“And I love you Imzadi, now and forever more.”

Fernando kissed Heather again and again. "No more talk." He muttered.

Heather returned his kisses. “My thoughts exactly!”

"I always knew you were smart." Fernando whispered.
