I'm here to do a job, not make friends.

Mission: MISSION 0 - History Speaks
Location: MCO's Office
Timeline: (Backpost....takes place after the incident in Marine County)

((Author's note to reader..... This post was lost under the myriad folders and personnel files that cover the good Colonel's desk. [Wink, wink] This post, chronologically takes place after the incident in Marine County, but before the JP entitled, "Lone Wolf". All of us down here in Marine County offer our sincere apologies for any confusion that may be caused by our filing error.))

Anna approached the Colonel's office. She had spent hours in the brig because of that asshole Mattias. Now she was talked into staying with the marines as, how Anna thought of it, 'their piss-girl until she could convince Joshua to leave the Marines.' She hated everyone on this ship and wanted to see them sucked into a black hole or something. Trying to herself down, she slammed the console near the MCO's door rather hard, hard enough to get people's attention inside.

Naxea looked towards the noise, not entirely pleased with having what was likely Lieutenant Hendrix slap the door console hard. "Enter," she stated sternly as she stood.

She walked in and stood at attention. She noticed Mattias was there. She wanted to kill him. She also didn't want to be here, but she couldn't get Josh to walk out with her so she was stuck there. "1st. Lieutenant Anna Hendrix, reporting for duty." She then said nothing from that moment forward.

Naxea studied the woman for a moment as she placed her hands on her hips. "At ease, lieutenant. The only reason you are here is because Captain Mattias believes you are a good Marine. Now, ahead of you, is the hardest job you will ever have in your life and that is convincing me of that statement. While here you will respect the chain of command and every Marine in my Detachment. Am I understood?"

She simply nodded. "Yes, Ma'am." She said simply. It was going to be 'yes, ma'am. No Ma'am. Until she could convince Josh to leave this place.

Mattias didn't say anything, but, he could see that Anna was putting on her tough-as-nails hard ass persona. Instead, he looked over at Naxea and simply arched an eyebrow slightly.

This was not going to be a fun time, for any involved.

"Very well, lieutenant. You're on the maintenance detail this week--in fact I'm going out on a limb and placing you in charge of the detail," she stated, crossing her arms. "Your work will be checked by Gunnery Sergeant Gami, who has my utmost respect and trust." She had a feeling Gami would be able to relate to Hendrix.

"Yes, Ma'am." She said simply. She did not regard Mattias at all. Josh may talk to him. She wouldn't. All that was needed was a slap on their hands for this. Instead, she got a slap on the face from this crew.

Mattias sighed quietly to himself. Anna was taking this issue way too personally. If she kept up with the attitude, she would lose whatever chance she was being given here. Unfortunately, for her, this was now the Colonel's show. She would not find an ally in him until she corrected her attitude.

Sighing, Naxea could tell that the woman wasn't going to say anything else--which was likely a good thing. She waved the woman away. "You're dismissed. Maintenance Detail is assembling in the Armory." To say that the woman had a bad attitude was an understatement. "And lieutenant, one thing before you go, I'd suggest you take full advantage of this second chance you're getting. Not everyone gets one."

'Second chance... I'm only here because Joshua doesn't want to leave this pisshole.' Anna thought to herself as she left the room. She had work to do before she could leave and return to her quarters with Josh.

Naxea watched the woman leave her office before letting out a sigh and looking at Mattias. "She reminds me a lot of Commander Vaii," she commented referring to her friend's short temper.

"Oh?" Mattias asked, his eyebrows arching. "Should I be worried, Colonel?" an unsure grin slowly started to cross his lips.

Naxea gave a lopsided grin. "I don't think so. Vaii is an oustanding officer and pilot but with a very short fuse and when she blows, she usually ends up in the brig to telling Starfleet, the ship's XO, or Ship's Captain to go fornicate themselves."

Mattias couldn't help but laugh out loud, as he pictured anyone telling Phee off like that. "I'm sorry, Ma'am. I was just picturing Phee, Captain Lalor, being spoken to in that manner. Clearly, if Vaii is still here, she definitely knows her stuff."

Continuing to grin, Naxea nodded. "That she does. Possibly the only reason why she is still aboard. But she's a good friend. Did you have anything else for me?"

After thinking about it for a few beats, Mattias shook his head and stood, offering his hand of friendship to her. "No, Ma'am. Thank you again for giving her another shot."

Naxea nodded as she accepted his hand. "Very well then. You're dismissed."

Mattias nodded and smiled politely. As he stood and left the Colonel's office, he knew that what he had heard about her was correct, and, he foresaw nothing but good dealings between the two of them.

Oh dear...well, it's good to know where one stands. And, you can't always be liked by everyone. Drama is the essence of a good story. And it looks like we have quite enough fertilizer to go around for many good stories. Thank you for the postage; please write more.
