Thinking Backwards

Mission: MISSION 0 - History Speaks
Location: Trill
Timeline: 2200
615 words - 1.2 OF Standard Post Measure

On:

Andrinn was standing in the Great Hall on the Trill capital of Leran Manev. Andrinn had come to the Great Hall with his mother and one of his siblings, advocating for several new improvements for the people of Trill and potentially joining the United Federation of Planets.

The Trill had worked with United Earth before the Federation was even a glimmer alongside the Vulcans. One notable Trill engineer, Tobin Dax, had worked on several issues of the NX-Class that Earth Starfleet had. Dax was a nervous man, always biting at his fingernails, but he had a good mind for solving complex issues that anyone might've had along the road. Especially Engineering and mathematical problems.

However, Trill and the Federation hadn't always seen eye-to-eye on the many issues that the Trill people had. The Trill people were worried about outsiders finding out about the symbiants that joined with the Trill hosts and wanted to keep that information from outsiders as much as possible. However, as the Trill joined the universe, that information was becoming harder and harder to keep from outsiders.

That's why Andrinn's mother wanted Andrinn to join her today in the Great Hall of Trill in the capital city of Leran Manev. Andrinn was a mixed bag of El-Aurian and Trill DNA, as well as a joined Trill. Something that was majorly uncommon amongst the people of Trill at the time.

However, due to his DNA and being half Trill himself, Andrinn was able to join with a symbiant, even if it was something that his mentor disagreed with for quite some time before his death many years ago. Andrinn had the memories of both the hosts before him, which included Ranul Orin's memories.

As Andrinn sat down in the Great Hall main lobby, as his mother and sibling were talking to the various Trill Senators and leaders, Andrinn took a moment to close his eyes and think back to Ranul.

Ranul was a bittersweet man, who was that way due to issues that he had with the Vulcans many years ago. The Vulcans had arrested him on suspicion of stealing information from both them and the Humans on Earth. While the charges were eventually dropped and his record expunged, Ranul became more bitter towards outsiders and those who weren't fully Trill.

It became something that Andrinn would come to understand later in life as to why Ranul didn't like him. It wasn't due to the fact that he was his mentee, but it was due to the fact that he was an outsider.

While that might not have been okay, it gave Andrinn a lot of clarity as to why Ranul gave him a lot of despair growing up and while Andrinn was going through the symbiosis program.

Hearing his name being called, Andrinn opened his eyes and saw that his mother and brother were coming out of the Great Hall, smiles on their faces. Andrinn stood up and asked, "How'd the meeting with the Prime Minister of Trill go?"

Andrinn's mother smiled from ear to ear, replying, "Well, the good news is that while we won't be joining the Federation today, the Trill council was open to the possibility some day. We've been working towards this day for quite some time and maybe, we can eventually join the universe as a whole sometime."

Andrinn didn't say anything, but just smiled and hugged his mother. He was excited to see what the future of Trill would look like, especially when they did join the Federation. It would allow for them to do so much and gain more knowledge of the universe around them.

He was ready to watch it unfold around him.

Yes sir, a very nice post there. Getting to know Andrinn better and better as time goes on. I enjoyed reading your post today. Thanks for doing your part to keep our inboxes full of Star Trek. Appreciate the effort.

Your email here came in between to junk emails. One on how I could get bigger tits for my man using all natural Fenugreek seeds. And the other is an ad for the Neptune Society, "When its time - It's the responsible thing to do".

This is what happens when you have no life.

Thanks for the post.
