Having left Alicia and the children, Savar took the turbolift to the bridge, Tux padded along at his side. They were given a wide berth as they exited the lift and made their way to the Commodore's Ready Room. Before pushing the chime, Savar bent forward to speak to Tux. "Now remember Tux, be on your best behavior. We need the Commodore to agree to allow you to stay with Alicia and myself along with the children. You do want that do you not?" Tux purred by way of reply.

Straightening up, he pressed the door chime and awaited admittance. "Be good, be smart." He reminded Tux.

The door opened and Phoenix Lalor stood there, her face set. "Are you kidding me Commander?" She asked. Avalon had sold Savar out and told the Commodore everything.

Savar stopped several feet away from Commodore and Tux stopped next to him and sat down. If he was surprised by the Commodore's statement, he hid it well behind his Vulcan exterior. "Kidding? I do not know what you refer to Commodore. I was unaware I made a joke." He replied calmly.

Phoenix pointed at Tux. "You are having a sehlat on board?"

"It was my intention, yes Commodore. Tux is my pet. Despite his appearance, he is quite affectionate. Tux say hello to the Commodore." Tux looked at Savar and then at Phoenix. He padded to her and rubbed against her legs much like a human cat would, purring loudly.

Phoenix stood stock still. It was no cat. "will it be confined to your quarters?" she asked.

"There is no need to be scared of Tux, Commodore he will not hurt you. Domestic Shelats are quite easy-going Commodore Have you not heard of sehlats before?

"I have heard of the animal before Commander, I know they can be rather ... nasty when riled."

Savar nodded his head, "My apologies Commodore. You are correct in your statement that sehlats can be nasty when they are provoked. However, those occurrences are rare and usually the sehlat has been tormented beyond its endurance." Savar pointed out.

"Very well" Phoenix replied.

"Place your hand out Commodore. Let Tux smell it." Savar requested of Phoenix.

She did so slowly. She was not sure of the animal.

"Commodore, I neglected to answer your question as would Tux be confined to our quarters. Yes, he will be for the majority of time. The exceptions are when I take him to the holodeck or arboretum for his walk." Savar answered. "Commodore, there is no reason to fear Tux."

For his part Tux, sniffed at Phoenix's hand before his mouth opened and his pink tongue came out to lick it. "You are now protected like Alicia and our children are. Tux will protect you as he now considers you family, Commodore."

She gave a brief smile. "Thank you for that. And I will allow it but I want you to make sure your neighbours all know he is onboard as well as Commanders Taylor and S'hib. The last thing anyone needs is someone thinking that he is not allowed."

"Of course, Commodore. I will set up an appointment with the commanders once I am finished here and let them know that you have approved Tux's presence here." Savar remarked as he watched Tux look at the commodore attentively.

Gingerly Phoenix reached out and scratched the sehalt behind the ears. "good. we dont need accidents."

Tux responded with a low, rumbling purr as Phoenix scratched behind his ears. "You have made a friend for life Commodore. Tux enjoys getting his ears scratched as you can see." Savar stated.

"Well if I see him about without you i will remember that." Phoenix gave a small smile. "Will he be ok on a starship?"

"Tux is very adaptable Commodore. Being on a starship will pose no hardship for him. If I am not with Tux, then Alicia will be. Though I doubt he would get into trouble. He will not be left unsupervised." Savar commented.

"okay" she smiled. "Well good luck with kids and a pet. I have left my dogs on Earth."

"Luck? I did not know luck was required or needed in dealing with children and a pet Commodore. I rely on logic." Savar answered with a hint of self-assuredness.

Her lips twisted into a smirk. "Your children are not all vulcan Commander, good luck is definitely needed."

"I fail to see how Commodore, but I nonetheless will accept your wish of good luck." Savar replied.

Phoenix nodded. "I will note his presence in the ship logs for you Commander." She said by way of dismissal.

Savar inclined his head slightly. " A wise and prudent course of action Commodore." Savar replied as he addressed Tux. "Tux, it is time for us to take our leave of the Commodore. You may return to see her, if she allows it.'

"Be good Tux" Phoenix said to the animal. "And behave for your family."

Tux looked back at the commodore and purred loudly.
