After Nicholas left Cassia's quarters, he made his way directly to the CO's office. It was time for him to report in properly.

Phoenix and Gary had been going through crew reasignments and such in the Commodore's ready room.

Suddenly, the door chime rang, indicating someone had arrived outside and wanted to speak to the Commodore.

Phoenix put down the report on incoming marines and glanced at her XO. "Come in" she called out.

The doors slid apart and a man who looked nearly identical to their Academy Commendant marched in. Unlike Captain Kyle Reece, however, this man was clean-shaven and wearing Intelligence grey with Lieutenant rank pips. He moved to a point three paces in front of and centered on Phoenix's desk, and snapped to attention. "Commodore! Lieutenant Nicholas Reece reporting for duty as the newest member of both your Intelligence department, and as you new Academy instructor on Intelligence and Infiltration Specialist skills, Ma'am!" He broke his position of attention to pull out a small Data Crystal, handing it over to the CO. "My orders, Ma'am." After placing it on her desk, he resumed the position of attention and waited.

Another Reece, Phoenix mused. That made 3. Was someone trying to overload her with them or something. "At ease Lieutenant. Unless you are in trouble, I do not expect people standing at attention in my ready room." She waved at him "Have a seat. This is Captain Taylor, the executive officer."

Nicholas relaxed and looked at the Commodore. "Thank you, Ma'am." He then turned to Captain Taylor and extended his right hand to the other man. "Hello, Sir."

"Hello Lieutenant. A pleasure." Gary replied simply.

Nicholas nodded to the Exec. He wasn't sure why he was getting such a cool welcome from the man, but kept it to himself.

While they exchanged greetings, Phoenix took the crystal and put it in her PADD. She scanned it "Assigned to Lt Rin. She could use the help."

Hearing the Commodore, Nicholas looked back to her and nodded. "Yes, Ma'am. Though, not totally. As you can see in the orders, I am also to teach a course in the Academy here. I will be speaking with my bro...I mean... Captain Reece later, after I report in to Lieutenant Rin today."

"Well he has been griping that he wants more instructors." Phoenix mused as she continued perusing the file. "You will need to check in with the CMO and Counseling department as well."

He nodded. "Yes, Ma'am. Medical was next on my list." He didn't say when he would get to see the counselors. Though, as he had promised Cassia, he would do so sooner, rather than later.

She raised those silver blue eyes up. "Our Chief medical officer is a Gorn, Lieutenant. It's not going to be an issue I hope?"

Nicholas was surprised to hear that. Though, he shook his head. "No Ma'am. Has it been with other new crewmembers?"

Phoenix looked at Gary "Not as I have heard but then no one has dared complain to me. Captain Taylor how about you?"

Gary shook his head as he replied to the Commodore. "No Commodore, there have never been any reported issues either official or through the ship's grapevine."

"You will find him to be a very good doctor Lieutenant." Phoenix said calmly.

Nicholas nodded. "I'd expect nothing less on the Elysium, Ma'am." He smiled slightly, thinking of all the adventures and officers that had graced these bulkheads before the Commodore was ever here.

"Good." She smiled. "I am sure you are eager to get started, so please, do so."

Nicholas nodded with a slight grin, then stood and replied. "Thank you, Ma'am!" He nodded politely to the X-O again, then turned and left the ready room.
