Savar arrived outside Alicia's office promptly on time. It was his turn to be evaluated and question, with Alicia being the interviewer. Knowing Alicia as he did as a fellow counselor and more intimately as her husband, he had no doubt Alicia would be thorough in her interview. He spoke to her secretary, "Lt. Commander Savar here to see Lt. Commander Kelea-Salik for my evaluation."
"Of course, Commander, I'll tell Commander Kelea-Salik you are here." As she disappeared into Alicia's inner office.
Alicia had already sensed Savar’s arrival, their bond kept them in contact the whole time, except when one of them was on an away team a long distance away. She appeared at the door greeting her secretary with a smile, before walking out to greet her husband. “Please come in Commander” She motioned Savar to join her.
Savar knew Alicia would have sensed him but had gone through all the appropriate steps anyways. He followed her into the office. "Thank you, Commander." he replied formally.
As the door closed behind him Alicia motioned to the seats. “You know the routine Imzadi, make yourself comfortable and please don’t call me Commander.” She grinned as she moved to her seat to sit down.
Savar moved to one of the seats to sit down. Once he did, his eyes held a glint of mirth that Alicia would notice, "Of course my wife." He replied his face showing the beginning of a smile.
Alicia made herself comfortable, if it wasn’t for the fact that it was an official get together she’d have sat beside him. “So my husband, how do you see your performance as Counsellor aboard the Elysium?”
Savar didn't rush a reply, he thought on the question then offered an answer. "I believe my performance as a counselor has been favorable. I want to help my patients with their problems and offer help and solutions to them."
Alicia nodded as she made notes, it had to go on record for Starfleet just to prove that evaluations were done correctly. “Excellent. So, what made you want to be a Counsellor?”
Savar nodded his head at Alicia, "A most excellent question Alicia. I will endeavor to give an answer worthy of it. I became a counselor, for I wish to help people live the best and most meaningful life they can. If I can help them to that goal by offering a helpful word or suggesting a treatment or therapy to help them. Then I am doing my duty to help them reach their goal."
“Something you do wonderfully well Savar” Alicia smiled warmly. “There aren’t that many full blood Vulcans out there who become Counsellors, at least not that I’ve come across. I could be wrong though. I think it serves you very well as a career.”
"I am honored you think so Alicia. Your opinion matters a great deal to me." Savar answered. "I am most satisfied with my choice to become a counselor."
“I am happy that you’re satisfied Imzadi, you have talent and are a comforting presence for me. You are also a wonderful father to our children.”
"I thank you for saying so my wife, my beloved. I see the example you set with the children, and I have to emulate it."
“You have no need to emulate me Savar” Alicia offered a confident smile. “You are a perfectly competent father. Our children are lucky to have you, and so am I.”
"The love the children and you have for me, Is the greatest honor I could ever receive as a father and a husband. It fills me with pride to be held in such esteem."
Alicia smiled proudly. “How does it make you ‘feel’ being married to a non-Vulcan? Vulcans normally bond with other Vulcans, does being married to a non-Vulcan reflect on you in your own culture?”
Savar looked directly at Alicia as he gave his answer. "I could ask for no better wife than you Alicia. You are my wife, my lover, my best friend and confidant. You have seen me at my worst and still remained by my side." He paused, "I am sure there are Vulcans that disapprove of me marrying a non-Vulcan. However, what they think does not affect me. In fact, if I were Human or Betazoid, I would simply tell them "Go to hell. You are my wife."
Alicia was sure Savar could feel how proud he made her feel. She loved him with all her heart and nothing would ever change that. “One final question, tell me about your hardest case as Counsellor, and how you solved it.”
Savar could indeed feel Alicia's pride and he sent a brief telepathic message to her through their bond. *What I said aloud, is in my heart everyday Alicia. Never a day goes by where I do not love you more than the previous day. * "I would say my hardest case involved you Alicia and when you first came to see after you had transferred to the Elysium. I solved it, if that word can be used, by melding with you and you speaking with your dead daughter."
Alicia nodded, the twinkle of tears in her eyes saying it all. “I am very proud to say you’ve passed your evaluation Imzadi. I am so very proud to be your wife, and your Senior Officer.”
He nodded his head, "That pleases me a great deal." Then he stood and walked over to Alicia and pulled her up, and then in a totally non-Vulcan way he kissed her. "It is I who am proud to be your husband and soulmate as well as a member of your staff.”
Alicia didn’t care if she was on work time, she returned Savar’s kiss with passion before looking into his eyes as she leaned back. “I am, and always will be yours Imzadi.”
Savar kissed her tenderly. "And I am yours Alicia for all eternity. Of that you can be sure of. For it comes from my heart."
“I know” Alicia grinned. “That’s what drew me to you in the first place. Now...Commander, we are on duty and unfortunately I have other people to see.”
" And I to you." Savar replied and continued, "Of course Commander. Thank you for taking the time to do my evaluation. I will not take up anymore of your time as I know how busy you are. I shall see you later in our quarters."
Alicia nodded. “You will indeed, until later Commander.
