Jarin Orin was standing in the kitchen, making something for breakfast for him and his new wife, Yanas Hunt. They were off for their honeymoon because they had recently gotten married about a week prior.

Jarin and Yanas had met approximately four years prior after they had met while working at the Board of Science in the Trill Capital of Leren Manev. They had began dating within six months of meeting because of how much chemistry there were between the two of them and became engaged about a year or two later. Jarin and Yanas decided to wait for the wedding, so they could enjoy being engaged for a little bit before the big day and to make sure the wedding was absolutely perfect when it finally came about.

As Jarin worked with the cooking unit, making something that was similar to eggs on the planet Earth, he felt something wrap around his waist and pressure on the crease of his back. Jarin just smiled as he realized that Yanas was awake and standing behind him.

"Good morning, my love! How'd you sleep last night?" Jarin asked while still working with the breakfast that was in front of him. It was quiet for a moment, allowing Jarin to soak in everything that was happening around him and the sheer bliss of a moment without any sort of sound or words.

When Yanas was ready to speak finally, she spoke in her normal, quieter tone as she said, "It was absolutely perfect. I never thought that I would be married to one of the best men in the entire galaxy. How'd I get to be so lucky?"

Janis stopped for a moment and thought about how lucky that he truly was. Yanas was his soulmate and nobody could ever change that.

"Now, the Hunt symbiant has gone through one or two more hosts than the Orin symbiant when you two met, if that's correct. Right?" the Counselor asked, curious as to how Andrinn and the previous hosts had interacted with one another.

Shaking his head, Andrinn replied, "Yeah, I was only on my first host when Jerin and Yanas married. However, Yanas was the third host of the Hunt symbiant when they were married. I think the most recent host that passed away was the seventh or eighth host of the Hunt symbiant, if I'm not mistaken. I just had drinks with him a few weeks ago and he was rather healthy, even if he was about 75 years old. Most of the Hunt hosts had lived long lives and I was glad to know every single one of them, even if they couldn't be anything more than friendships."

The Counselor looked up from his PADD and asked, "Why is that?"

Andrinn looked up, a little bit shocked that the Counselor didn't know about the Trill policy on not dating a former host's new host. However, he did realize that Trill society was still rather guarded about who they tell about what, so Andrinn decided to fill the counselor in about the cultural importance about it all.

"Well, it's something of a taboo to date a former host. Like, since the host that took over the Hunt symbiant and I have met, we can interact with one another, but we can't date like we did when we were our former hosts. It's something of a taboo to even consider and we'd be thrown out of Trill society, making us the last hosts of the Hunt and Orin symbiants. For me, it wouldn't matter as much as it would for the Hunt symbiant's host because I've got a longer life. There's just a lot to it that the universe at large doesn't know about," Andrinn said, thinking about the various other symbiants and hosts that have gone against the grain to do exactly what he explained.

The Counselor shook his head and said, "Well, at least you've managed to keep in touch and were able to do so, even though you two dated in a past life. What will happen now? For the Hunt symbiant?"

Andrinn finally looked into the eyes of the Counselor and smiled. He said, "Well, there will be a host that will be prepared. One that will have been prepared for quite some time now to host a symbiant. Once they're ready, they'll prepare them for the transfer of Hunt to the new host and it'll be an amazing thing. It's such a beautiful and personal thing."

The Counselor smiled back and remained silent for a moment, allowing both of them to think about their various emotions. A beep came up on his PADD and he said, "Oh, would you look at that. It looks like our time is up. How are you feeling Andrinn?"

Andrinn thought about it for a moment and realized that he was okay. He was sad, but hew could feel some relief that Hunt would go into a host that trained for this like the Humans of old trained for the Olympics. Andrinn looked over at the Counselor and replied, "While I'm a bit sad at the news of the death of the most recent Hunt host, I know that there is more to this than just the death of a host. I can't wait for the next host to be introduced to the universe and to see what they can do. I know that they'll be amazing at it."

The Counselor got up from his seat and said, "I like that attitude and I'm glad that you're starting to adopt it into your life. Is there anything you need from me before I finish our counseling session for today?"

Andrinn got up from his own seat and thought about it for a moment. He shook his head and said, "No, I think that I'm beyond good at the moment. In a way, Hunt's passing in this host kind of knocked me on my butt and made me realize that I needed to quit being so wound up in my head. I know that I'll probably going on about something next week, but I'm ready to see what happens. Thanks, Counselor. It actually means a lot to me."

The Counselor said, "Yeah, I'm glad I got to know a bit more about you and your culture today. I'll schedule a time for next week. Same time?"

Andrinn shook his head in the positive and said, "Sounds perfect."

The Counselor nodded and said, "Okay, then I'll see you next week."

With that, the Counselor walked Andrinn out the door before sitting down and looking over the information that he got previously. The Counselor sat down and looked it over thoroughly before realizing that the information included the name of the new host and their previous lineage.

The new host was related to Orin's second host, Ranul Orin. The Counselor sat back before saying to himself, "Next week is going to be interesting."
