Sthilg let out a sigh as he leaned back in his chair placing the open book down as he did so. He was tired and he wanted to go to bed, but this task was far to big for him to go easy and let him slip into sleep.

His white eyes gazed over at the small pile of padds on his desk. All the reports of his fellow crew suffering from severe sleep depravity.

There was something in the vast history of the federation that could help he was sure of it.

He leaned forward and returned to his work switching on his copy of great medical lectures of the federation. At least the sound would help keep him away.

For hours he flicked through his books the frustration building in his body as ideas came to nought.

He couldn't keep doing this. He needed his own sleep. He rose about to switch off the audio recording which had switched to one from Doctor McCoy. One of his memories dealing with the genetic superhuman khan........

The lizard froze as a thought struck him like a thunderbolt. Had to been staring at him for so long.

Grabbing his coat he hurried out of medical and to the turbolift and was soon in his quarters. Running his hand along one of his bookcases he found what he was after. A small oddly shaped book he had picked up from a flea market many moons ago. Flicking open his copy of early Terran suspended animation his eyes were drawn to what had suddenly become so clear.

Letting out a "EUKERA" that probably woke the whole deck the lizard was soon hurrying to the commodore's quarters. Hitting the alert indicator multiple times he didn't even look at his commander as he stepped inside.

" BTZR2." He said his voice showing a relief had been lifted from his shoulders.

Phoenix blinked at him. "What?" she was at least dressed but she looked very tired.

" BTZR2. " Sthilg said pointing to the part of the old book. " It wasss a drug Khan tried using for hisss early sssupended animation. It had a ssside effect though. It dulled the brainsss ability to dream. If it passsssesss the sssaftey tessstsss it could let the crew get a full nightsss sssleep."

"Well I think we can all use that." Phoenix said. "How long to get it through the tests?"

" If i get ssstarted now a week if everything goesss well. " Sthilg replied with a grin.

"Have you rested since you started your research?" Phoenix asked concerned.

Sthilg looked rather sheepishly as he ran his hand across his head. " I'm not assure what day is it? "

She sighed and told him the stardate watching his face, she figured he had lost track of the time.

" Three daysss then." Sthilg replied holding up his hand as he did so. " I'll asset the primary tessst on then head straight to bed. The sssonner we get this sssleeep problem assssssorted the better. "

"Hmm ok but get someone to work with you. two sets of eyes are better than one set."

" Okay. Here'sss hoping it will let the crew get a good night sssleep." Sthilg said as he turned to leave. " Good night commodore."

"Good Night Doc. And please take care okay."

Sthilg nodded as he left the room. Despite the weight from his tired reptilian brain, he felt like a wight had been removed from his shoulders.
