Savar had come back to the quarters he shared with Alicia and their children and instantly called out to Alicia. He had an idea. It was one he had been thinking on, and he wanted Alicia's input and opinion as without her, the idea would never come to fruition.
"Alicia?" he called out but not too loudly in case Connor and N'Vea were both napping. "Alicia?" he called again as he went into the kitchen in search of his wife.
“Right here” Alicia smiled as she walked out of the bedroom. “Sorry Imzadi I was just getting changed. Is everything alright?”
"Everything is fine Alicia, and no apology is needed or necessary. I have an idea that I wish to discuss with you as it involves Captain Taylor and i would like your opinion."
“Gary?” Alicia nodded as she took a seat. “Please do tell me more.”
Savar took a seat next to her. "My idea is to invite Captain Taylor and his daughter over for a visit and dinner. It will allow him to have adult conversation as well as bond more with Connor. In addition, his daughter can play with Connor and N'Vea. I also feel that his daughter could use a pet. A cat to be more specific. What do you think?"
“I think that could be a very good idea, but let’s run that past Gary first.” Alicia smiled warmly. “You are so wonderful to have thought this over, I couldn’t imagine being without you trying to raise a family. I can only imagine how hard it must be for Gary.”
"We most certainly can discuss the idea of a pet with Captain Taylor however, I feel that would be more productive if he were here having dinner with us." Savar replied. "That the discussion would be more productive in person."
“Agreed” Alicia nodded. “Your Logic is a Always faultless Imzadi” She gave Savar a kiss on the cheek.
Savar nodded and arched an eyebrow at Alicia. "Thank you for agreeing Alicia as well as the kiss. Both are most pleasurable and desired."
“Savar what will happen with Soral when we return to Federation space?” Alicia gave her husband a curious look. “Out here he has us, but what happens if he has family on Vulcan? I doubt they’d see me as a suitable mother for a growing Vulcan boy.”
Savar heard Alicia's question and more importantly her worry and concern. "That will be up to Soral if he wishes to stay with us Alicia especially if he has family. We of course can go before the court to keep Soral." He took her hands in his. "Do not worry yourself unduly Alicia. All will work out for the best. I am confident that Soral will remain a part of this family."
Alicia nodded as she held onto Savar’s hands. “I hope so Imzadi. I wasn’t sure at first whether I’d make a good mother for a Vulcan child, but I’ve come to love Soral as much as our own children.” She smiled.
'Which proves just what a good mother you are Alicia. Rest assured Soral recognizes that even if he does not vocalize it. I also believe he cares and loves you for the love and kindness you have shown him by accepting him so willingly into our family." Savar replied with certainty.
Alicia nodded. “In that case I’m happy” She smiled warmly. “We all have our worries, fears, and doubts, but as long as we have each other that’s all that matters.”
"As well you should be Alicia. Make no mistake, we are a family and our bond is secure. We will always be here to support, care and look after each other." Savar replied with confidence.
“I’d like to visit Vulcan when we get home Imzadi, to visit your family home and allow all of us to visit any family Soral may have left.”
Savar nodded. " A visit to Vulcan is most agreeable Alicia. As you pointed out, you will be able to get to know my family and they you. In addition, they can meet Soral. I think this is an excellent idea, Alicia. We shall make plans to do so, once we are home. A trip to holodeck might be advisable as well."
Alicia nodded. "That sounds good to me, it's going to be nice to have that to look forward to. I understand that Vulcan's atmosphere can be somewhat oppressive for non-Vulcans but that can be sorted at the time."
Savar nodded at her statement. "Quite correct Alicia. Vulcan's atmosphere is thin compared to Earth's as well as many other worlds. It does not normally present a problem for non-Vulcans has long as they are not involved in any strenuous activity. If they are, an oxygen booster is than advised." he paused and then continued, "I believe you and the children will be fine and in no danger."
Alicia nodded. "Well at present we're all on an adventure that none of us expected. At least it gives us chance to live up to our names as explorers!" she offered a smile.
Savar nodded, "We are indeed explorers Alicia on a journey none of us could have ever imagined. Traveling farther than anyone before us, seeing, encountering species both humanoid and animal that no one has ever seen. The one thing that makes this incredible trek bearable is having you here beside me Alicia. You and the children make the journey so much more bearable."
Alicia smiled as she gave Savar a hug. “There’s nowhere else I want to be, for me Home is wherever you are.”
Savar, has he did when he and Alicia were alone, relaxed his emotional control. He brought his arms up and wrapped them around Alicia in a loving hug. "We are alike in we find happiness with and in each other and I would not change that for any reason."
Alicia smiled as she hugged Savar, her head resting against his chest. “Neither would I Imzadi, not for anything.”
"That pleases me greatly Alicia. A very great deal. I also would not trade my life with you and the children for any treasure." Savar added.
"Well now we've got that clear.." Alicia grinned. "let's get dinner and I'll speak to Gary tomorrow."
Savar nodded, "Two wonderful ideas that I can fully support. Let us go my love."
Nodding Alicia got up from her seat to go and prepare their food, outside of work she enjoyed cookery especially cooking for her family.
A moment later Savar got up and went to join Alicia. "Is there anything I can assist you with Alicia?"
“Well you could help me prepare the Vulcan side of the dish” Alicia smiled warmly motioning to some ingredients.
Savar nodded, "A task I am more than willing to attend to." He replied as he looked at the ingredients and prepared to make them ready for the family's meal.
