Scott wanted and he knew Sapphire did as well and that was start a family tradition that the twins could embrace as their own and get behind one hundred percent. He sat on the couch his arm around Sapphire. The twins were off at school giving Sapphire and himself time to talk and discuss without any distractions or interruptions. "Sapphire, how do you feel about starting a family tradition that the twins can take as their own? It doesn't have to be anything major; it can be something has simple as having a certain breakfast meal on a Saturday or Sunday."
Sapphire considered his words and then nodded. "Or a sit down family dinner on one night a week without fail? I have been thanking about cooking a roast once in a while."
Scott nodded in agreement. "That's good too Sapphire. Maybe an activity go with it?" He suggested. "Do we want to make a list and let the boys decide?"
Sapphire nodded. "Sounds like a plan. We can always include holodeck adventures in that as well."
"I like that as well Sapphire. A good old fashion family adventure. Something everyone will like. Have lots of options to go on that from fun and silly to educational without the boys knowing it is. We can also rotate the adventures to keep them from getting stale." Scott suggested. "You know, we can if the boys warm up to this and embrace it We can even let them suggest ideas for the whole family. What do you think of that Sapphire? Do you think the boys would go for that?"
"I think they would." Sapphire said softly. "We should set up a planner.. I have been meaning to. With their school subjects, our working hours and such."
"A planner would be a great idea. It would certainly help us, and the boys keep track of what's going on with which each of us as well as cut down on any missed appointments or hurt feelings." Scott added.
Sapphire nodded. "I was talking with Samiare and she says it's the best way to make sure
You remember everything. Though she said that making sure people add things to it is hard."
"Makes sense as you can see what is planned and coming up, why would it be hard to add to it? Afraid of altering, changing plans? Or upsetting someone?" Scott questioned.
"She says that her neice sometimes plans things and forgets to tell her. I did say that Skylah is 6.. she just laughed and said 6 going on 16."
Scott sat there looking at Sapphire for a moment before replying." Does that mean it is going to be twice as bad for us with boys?" His voice holding a note of trepidation.
"I don't know. Skylah is female, boys are probably easier.. I am not sure.," Sapphire admitted.
Scott nodded, "This is a new experience for all of us. Going to be trial and error to begin with I think until we get the hang of this. Though i do hope you are right, and it is easier with boys."
"I was thinking also of making them appointments with the Paediatric cousnelor." Sapphire said. "Sam is sending Skylah these days."
Scott nodded. "Do you think the boys need that? I mean I'm all for anything that will help them. So, if this helps, great. Did Sam happen to say if it is helping Skylah?"
"I think everyone will need it. Think about what we have all gone through Scott. It's traumatic for all involved and no matter how much we try to keep things calm it needs to be looked at."
Scott was silent as Sapphire spoke. After a few seconds he replied. "I suppose you are right love. We are all damaged to one degree or another and as you said it needs to be looked at and discussed."
"Tate is the on board Paediatric counselor so if you agree we can make the appointments. " Sapphire said softly. "And you and I should also do our own counselling sessions as well."
"Why wouldn't I agree? It is a great idea. Best to deal with this now then to wait and then we are forced to deal with it." Scott answered. "Go ahead and make our appointments as well. This is going to be something the entire family is going to get done."
Sapphire nodded. "And some after school activities I thought of were the swimming lessons and maybe instruments if they show interest."
"Swimming definitely. They need to know how to swim and it is a great exercise. Learning to play a musical instrument could be good." Scott agreed, "You know gymnastics would be good as well if for no other reason than to burn off some of their energy."
Sapphire nodded. "I will look into that as well." She agreed.
"Good, any other activities you can think of for the boys? " Scott questioned. "They don't need to be physical activities, just activities to keep them engaged."
"Reading club?" Sapphire suggested thinking.
Scott nodded, "That's good. Maybe something along the lines of arts and crafts. Like painting or even pottery, working with ceramics, building something."
Sapphire nodded. "I'll have a look around."
Scott smiled. "Sounds good love. maybe archery?" He posed, wanting Sapphire's opinion on this as it was for the boys and hopefully something they would embrace fully.
Sapphire nodded and they spent the new few hours talking and making plans with the boys input.
