Andrinn leaned back in his desk chair and gave a big enough stretch that he wondered if he would be able to stretch himself back into shape. He had been in his office past his regular duty shift, making sure that all the diplomats and their protection was properly assigned. Andrinn had a talking with Captain Richardson some time ago about making sure that the Diplomats didn't go anywhere without proper, diplomatic protection.

So, Andrinn was trying to make sure that all the diplomats had at least one DPT member assigned to them while they were on duty or they had to go on a diplomatic away mission. However, the longer that Andrinn looked at the schedules, the more the fine lines between them started to blur. Andrinn couldn't help but rub his eyes multiple times and realize that he truly must've been getting old, as the blur didn't go away fully.

Then, Andrinn looked at the time on his desk monitor and realized what part of the problem truly was. It was becoming late in the evening and Andrinn hadn't had a bite to eat since the night before. While he had still been stuffed from the night before when he came onto duty that morning, Andrinn had become quite hungry since then. Not only that, but he was craving something real and not replicated.

Thus, Andrinn decided to save the work that he had thus far and head down to Deck 10 to see what was open at this late of an hour. Heading out of his office, Andrinn took a quick turbolift ride down to Deck 10 and stepped out to see that it was still buzzing with life. Andrinn ended up on the stern side of the deck, close to where the school was located for the Elysium.

Looking around, Andrinn saw San Churo and a bakery. Both which seemed like they would have delicious food, but neither instantly made Andrinn want to run inside to get something to eat. So, Andrinn decided to start walking around and see what else was onboard. However, it didn't take long for Andrinn to find something that made him both laugh and feel hungry at the same time.

Andrinn walked over to the Intergalactic House of Pancakes, which Sam had talked about before on several occasions. Andrinn walked over and saw that it was still open, where he walked inside. He was seated quickly and given a PADD to look over the various things on the menu. Andrinn wanted something sweet and instantly decided that since he hadn't eaten all day that he wanted a stack of pancakes with maple syrup.

Andrinn ordered the pancakes with the hostess and they came out within a few minutes. As the hostess brought the pancakes and laid them in front of Andrinn, she said, "You must be quite hungry, Mr. Orin. Long night?" He looked at the hostess and replied, "Yeah, I was trying to catch up on the duty rooster for the diplomats and their protection. I wanted it to be just right, but it was taking me a bit and the lines just started blurring. So, I decided to head down here to get a bite to eat. Thank you for all of the pancakes, by the way!"

She smiled and replied back, "Anytime, sir! Just let me know if you need anything else and I'll get it for you." She took the PADD and made sure to leave some clean silverware before heading out and letting Andrinn eat his pancakes. Andrinn quickly dug into the pancakes and realized how amazing they were. He got a variety of them, so there was a mix of regular, blueberry, banana, and more flavors that were mixing with one another.

It didn't take long for Andrinn to eat up his pancakes. But, it left him feeling a bit bloated. The same hostess from earlier came by to clean up and ask Andrinn if he wanted anything more. He put up his hands and told her that he was quite stuffed from the stack of pancakes, but thanked her for getting that for him.

Andrinn decided that he would go for a little walk out on the deck, taking in all of the live plants that were scattered throughout, as well as the little river that was running through the middle of the deck. He stopped on one of the bridges that covered the river to look at the various fish that were floating up and down river, taking a moment to realize how blessed he was to be on a ship like the Elysium.

Not only that, but it allowed for Andrinn to take a moment to realize that he had been on the Elysium for the better part of two and a half years by this point. "Never in a million years would I thought that I would be on a starship lost in deep space, helping to make first contact with species that the Federation could have only dreamed about," Andrinn said to himself as he laid his head on the railing.

He wondered what his life would have been like if he hadn't been told about this assignment and made the decision to leave his own little world behind. Andrinn had become way too comfortable back on Earth and if he hadn't been forced to realize it, Andrinn would probably still be back there at a desk job back at Federation HQ, pushing papers for the Diplomatic Corp instead of being on the front lines.

That made Andrinn smile for a moment as he lifted his head off the railing as he watched a few people come and go from the various restaurants. However, it was getting a bit late and thus, Andrinn knew that sleep was calling his name as well. He wasn't sure if Sam would've been off duty or not yet, but it would be good to have seen him once he got home.

As he headed towards the turbolift, Andrinn smiled and said to himself, "Yeah, I really would have been unlucky. I wouldn't have meet this crew, especially Sam!" The doors opened and allowed him on, where Andrinn ordered it up to his quarters. Andrinn couldn't have been happier.
