As the luncheon commenced, people grabbed food and groups naturally began to form. Their guards melted into the background, silently staying out of the way as they kept eyes on their respective delegates. Emeyr approached Phoenix and gave her a kind smile. "I wanted to commend the remarkable first impression your diplomatic team brought to my chamber the other day."

Phoenix smiled. "Legate Orin has trained his team well and we were grateful for the knowledge our friend Teevs has given us."

Emeyr glanced to the Lonian civilian who was conversing with some of the officers. "It sounds like he has done so much for your people. He mentioned in the transporter room that he had been aboard for some time. Where did you meet him, if you don't mind my asking?"

"Didn't we find him when he was having like engine trouble or something and went into a gravity well somewhere? It was like early on when we got pulled to this part of the universe," Orin offered up, trying to remember the exact story of how it happened, since it had been some time ago.

Phoenix nodded. "It was lucky that we were there. We were very glad to help him, and he has been a real friend to us."

Emeyr slowly nodded as she listened. "Well, we are grateful for the safe return of one of our own. It was very generous of you to offer assistance to him."

"We help anyone in need." Phoenix said softly. "We do not do it for reward, Teevs' friendship has been more than sufficent in repayment,"

That encouraged a warm smile across Emeyr's lips. It certainly worked in their favour that Teevs had been around them for so long. "I'm pleased to hear that there is already a good relationship between our people. Makes our jobs a little easier." She glanced to Orin when she said that. Emeyr then reached into her pocket and pulled out a data chip, the seal of the Second House engraved on it, and offered it. "Speaking of making things a little easier, a gift. I thought you might like some star charts for areas of space between here and the Milky Way. It's just for this quadrant, which isn't much compared to the distance you have to travel, but I hope it can still be of use."

Orin accepted the gift and said, "Thank you, your greatness. This would be most helpful in our travels around these parts. You have no idea." Orin smiled as he gave the chip over to Phoenix.

Phoenix nodded. "Our flight control team will be most happy to receive this information. We thank you."

Emeyr smiled brightly before gesturing toward the table of various food items on display, a silent invitation for them to join her in mingling with the other officers and Ladies. "Hopefully Mister Dosivi didn't answer all your questions about us," she said lightheartedly. "If you get a chance to talk with Lady Relou, she will..." she glaned to Orin again, "what's that phrase about losing body parts when someone speaks?"

Phoenix looked puzzled for a moment then her face cleared. "Ah what humans call talking ones ear off?"

"Yes, that," Emeyr responded with a nod. "Relou will talk your ear off. She loves to talk about our culture as much as she loves to hear about new ones."

"Well we have a number of cultures here so we will be able to share them with her." Phoenix said.

"She'd be thrilled. We might have to drag her off your vessel when we depart." Emeyr chuckled, looking over at Relou to see that she was very engaged in conversation. Behind Relou, near one of the edges of the room, she saw Sama take a seat at a table and move a decoration from its spot. Her features shifted ever so slightly before she turned her focus back onto Phoenix and recovered. No, Sama was not going to ruin this for her. If she wanted to sulk instead of enjoying herself, then that was her prerogative. "I'm sure I could arrange for a collection from our cultural database for you in return. We see many different species here; I believe it was two cycles ago that we had over fifty different species visit our world."

"Fifty? That's a lot, and we have not met that many." Phoenix smiled. Then she turned as an ensign touched her arm. She bent her head and the Ensign whispered. Phoenix sighed. And turned back to Emeyr. "I apologies Emeyr. I need to go see to something, I would like to speak with you again however, I think we would be able to share a lot of information."

"Of course!" Emeyr responded. She then mentally reminded herself to reign in her enthusiasm and be professional as she watched the commodore walk off, then she turned to Orin. Her enthusiasm couldn't be contained for very long, evidenced by the grin that worked its way across her lips. She was glad that he had suggested this!
