The Elysium had docked and Jaeih had carefully considered the options. She sat on their low couch and studied the PADD in front of her. When Wynter entered the cabin she gave him a smile. “Hi”
Wynter smiled back as the door to their quarters closed behind him. "Hi." He said as he stretched.
Standing, Jaeih went and kissed him hello. "So shore leave is ordered. And I was thinking that maybe we could go to my family house in Aspen."
Wynter kissed her back gently. "You sure you want to take me to your family's place?" He asked. "I mean we haven't been together long enough to meet family officially have we?"
"Oh they won't be there. Father is off world as is my brother and sister. We will have the place to ourselves."
He smiled. "Sounds nice the two of us getting away from everything."
"I thought so. And as it is our vacation home, itals private and we will be able to just relax without neighbors. " Jaieh stepped back. "So tomorrow morning departure sound good to you?"
"Whenever you want love, whenever you want." Wynter replied.
The next morning, Jaeih stepped onto the transporter pad, bag in hand. "Come on Wyn."
Wynter followed after her. "Why are you in such a rush Jae?" He asked as he stepped onto the pad.
“Because I want to get off this ship for a while” she said softly. And when he joined her and they had been beamed down to the town square near the house, she added “Before I end up in more trouble.” She looked around, got her bearings. “There is taxi to take us up the mountain”
"Alright, and what trouble are you talking about?" He asked as they waited.
The Taxi pulled up at their Hail. “I am on report for my actions on the Elysium” She said softly. They climbed aboard and she gave the address.
"Which actions love? Knocking out the idiot with your aunt?"
“I didn’t hit him. I was rude.” she replied
Wynter laughed. "Seriously that's all?"
‘I believe the charges are Gross insubordination and conduct unbecoming an officer. Or so Lovejoy said”
He chuckled again. "I dare say by the end he will be up on those charges."
“One can hope” The Taxi pulled up and she climbed out. “We are here” She waved to the large house on the snowy hill.
Wynter took in the sight as he exited the taxi. "Wow nice place. So what do you want to do to get settled?"
“Long time family home.” Jaeih said as way of explanation as they walked up to the front door. She placed her hand on the scanner. The door clicked and she pushed it open.
He followed her in quietly then let out a low whistle before teasing her. "It feels like I should carry you."
She laughed “No, you don’t” Jaeih took note of the main hall. “There is a room upstairs to the left. It's mine when we stay here.”
Wynter nodded. "Alright, are there any rules I should know about while we're here?" He asked picking up their bags.
Jaeih shook her head. “No, not really. Just leave it tidy. There is a cleaner who comes in once a week.”
He nodded. "Alright, well that is simple."
“It is.” She led him up the stairs to the upper level. “This way.”
Wynter followed her. "Lead on love."
Jaeih led the way into a large airy room, with a large 4 poster in the middle of the room. Thick rugs were on the floor and there were two doors leading to, a bathroom and the other to a walk in robe. But the best, was the fact that the exterior wall was floor to ceiling windows with heavy drapes parted to show the large mountains beyond. And between the bathroom and walk in robe was a fireplace.
Jaeih placed her bag on the bed and moved to light the fire. She pressed the starter in the gas fireplace. “All bedrooms have gas, but down stairs in the main family room, it's wood. There is always a stash of wood in the basement as well as skis and snowboards etc.”
Wynter nodded ashe took in the room. "Alright I take it, you ski?" He asked as he put their bags down.
“I ski and Snowboard.” She smiled. “Do you?”
"I have, but it was work related.” He replied.
Jaeih raised an eyebrow at him. “Work related?”
Wynter chuckled. "Yes work related."
“Hmm” Jaeih smiled and turned to the bathroom, checked it casually, nodded and then said. “Come on, I’ll show you around downstairs”
He nodded. "Lead on love."
She gave him the full tour of the downstairs area and lit the fire in the great room as she knew that it would start to snow soon.
Wynter smiled as he knelt beside her. "Its nice to be alone."
"Hmm yes" She sat back in front of the fire. "And no chance of someone ringing the doorbell."
"Be careful, you may just jinx yourself love." He replied as he shifted to sitting.
Jaeih shook her head. "Doubtful. I checked everyone's location, even Aunt Evie and her husband's. That and I sent out a message to all family members, baring them for the next few days."
Wynter chuckled. "Alright so what are we going to do over these next few days?"
"Relax, spend time together, skii, snowboard." She suggested.
