Brief Interview with Ms Elisha Pryce-Randal - onboard Ship Reporter
EPR: What is your role on the Elysium? And what does it entail?
GT: Well Elisha, I'm the executive officer on the Elysium and as such I take command whenever Captain Lalor is unable to due to being on away missions or other assignments. I'm also the liaison between the crew and the Captain. I keep her informed of crew morale or any crew problems.
EPR: What made you choose that line of work?
GT: I love the stars. I grew up on a ranch and I can remember many a night I would look up at the stars and wish to be among them.
EPR:How do you handle the pressure that comes with being a Starfleet officer?
GT: I go to the gym to work out and vent with any frustrations of the day. But really pressure is what you make of it.
EPR: What would you say to a cadet aspiring to do what you do?
GT: Work hard and then harder and study, study, study!!
EPR: What is your favorite memory of your time at the academy?
GT: Meeting Boothby. I had a particularly bad day and was walking through the grounds, my head down and muttering, not watching where I was going and I walked into some flowers. Boothby was close by, saw it, Blasted me and said I would never get far in life or the Academy with my head down, I never forgot that.
EPR: Do you have any funny tales to tell about your time on the USS Elysium?
GT: *Laughs* No I don't Elisha maybe that's a funny story in itself. No wait I do. I was in my Ready Room and the assistant CMO came to visit bringing some fresh fruit and a beautiful hand painted wooden duck a mallard to be precise. Now the funny part is as we were talking she reached in a took out what she thought was a mint and after swallowing it complained about it's taste. I calmly informed her that they were marbles! The look on her face was priceless." He finished with a grin.
EPR: Thank you for your time Commander.
