In the Academy Fitness Center, a group of disoriented officers appeared, scattered around the room.
Jessica woke up wearing a tank top and pajamas. She suddenly woke up and looked around. She was not in her quarters, and she was in one of the places she hated on campus.
"Avalon, I want to know two things; why am I here, and the name of the soon to be deceased who transported me here." Jess noted
"Well, this is some pretty shit right here." Rhodes snarled, a 1/56 scale British Cavalry officer in one hand and a paintbrush in the other, "Finally get some damn down time to finish this regiment and some moron transports me into the damn cadet gym."
"Are ye outte yar bloody mind, lass?" Gallia said to Maddy as they both appeared in the gym together, "I cannae letcha do thaht!"
"But, Gallia, I think ops is the perfect place for...." Maddy began, then stopped, "Things have changed, Gallia, look."
"Wahl, Ah'll bay damned." Gallia said with a low whistle, "Whot's oll this then?"
Jessica folded her arms. "Apparently we've been transported into the holodeck, and into the armpit of Starfleet Academy. You know, the place where the track team always bragged of their.... triumphs." Jessica mentioned. "Computer, Turn this damned thing off, but save the program. I'm going to run this comedian through this entire gym when I find him or her."
"Better idea." Rhodes growled, "Let me run 'em through it. Better still, let's just run 'em through."
The andorian ensign from flight frowned and looked out the window. "Uh we are not on a holodeck. We are still shipside."
Jaeih was poking around the room and frowned. "Shipside academy fitness centre. Brilliant." She muttered.
Jessica looked around and approached the manual release for the fitness centre's entrance. Pulling the cover off, she began to locate the emergency release.
Jaeih looked over at Jessica. "Any luck Lieutenant?"
She tried to pump the emergency lever, but it broke off. Jessica held it a moment and handed it to Jaeih. "Guess we're doing this the hard way."
"Well that always works." Jaeih sighed. "Suggestions?"
"Aye, boot is a lang shot." Gallia replied, "Wail nade ta create some smoke. The fire soo-preshion system'll kick on an' them dars'll open up ottamatic."
"I got an idea." Rhodes interjected, "Granola, you get on my shoulders and hold this horseman close to the smoke detector, shouldn't take but a few seconds."
"For what?" Maddy asked, though she took the figure and mounted the gruff old NCO's shoulders as instructed.
"This paint, especially when it's fresh, puts off some serious fumes." Rhodes explained, pushing the cadet closer to the system, "Why I always vent the figures while they're drying, fortunately we got this guy with a fresh, tacky coat on him, should set off the fire system in a hurry."
"No offence, a fire on a starship would be a really bad idea, Sergeant. If Avalon's not responding, and we're locked out of the computer, that means we'd be dead, and I'd be kicking your ass in hell for starting a fire on a starship for eternity." Jess noted. "Now give me a hand with this weight bar. We're going to use it as a makeshift ram and knock this door down." She picked it up.
"Oxshlee, Leftenant, naybody suggeshted an oxual fire." Gallia corrected, "Marely the idea of cratin' some smoke ar fumes ta engage thot soo-preshon system. The foct thot Gunnah's lil mon's pant job didnae do it tells meh thot whoever done this de-octivaded it because they expected us ta trah jus' thot."
"So whoever this is is way ahead of us." Maddy noted, "They've had serious prep time."
"Almost like they had a goddam operational plan or something." Rhodes noted, he'd remind flygirl about limiting her threats to the ones she could back up later, "We've got to consider the possibility now that we've been put here by our own people, and a lot of them."
"I don't think it's a mutiny. One of us might have known if it was."
"Maybe" Jaeih muttered. The ship had, had its share of them before. She looked around the room. "Can you use that bar as a lever Lieutenant?"
"If not a mute-nee, mebbe an infil-trayshun then?" Gallia offered, they'd spent a lot of time in the Academy on infiltrators, especially shape shifters, since the end of the war, and who knew if the damn Romulans hadn't left someone behind to screw with the Elyisum some more...
Suddenly the main doors opened and then over the Comm came: "Attention all hands. We are under attack. We have Jem Hadar on decks 23, 34, 16, 19 and 4. All civilians are to remain in the shelters. All crew prepare to repel boarders. Lethal force has been authorized. All turbolifts are down."
"We need to get to Devil Dog country and double time." Rhodes growled, "Get our hands on some serious fire power."
"The Jemmies?" Gallia raised an eyebrow, "Thot doesna mech sense though, unless the Duminyon is suckin' aboot fahr rand two."
Jess moved to a nearby console and tried the coms controls. She then turned on an intercom to her pilots. "This is Lieutenant Vaii to all pilots. Get to the damn bays, I want birds, in the air, right goddamned now!"
