Mission: Casperia Prime - A lesson in relaxation
Location: Planetside - backstreets
2943 words - 5.9 OF Standard Post Measure

Casperia Prime may be known as a pleasure planet but as with all planets, there was a shadier side. The backstreets had an array of smaller, stranger shops for visitors to the planet to see but it wasn't the most welcoming of areas. Walking along the street with his favourite acquisition on his arm, Ignatious was feeling like showing off as he looked at the young woman walking beside him. He'd purchased her on another planet, a fine acquisition if there ever was one but she wasn't refined and used to his ways as yet. He'd teach her though and she'd learn to be obedient, he grinned as he pushed past others in the street making his presence known.

Fernando had been down to the planet to see the sights and found himself on the back streets, with it's little shops. Selling everything and everything. Nothing was off limits or couldn't be bought for the right price. He was in his civvies so no one would know he was Starfleet. As he walked along, he had stopped to watch a vender make beautiful glass like creatures. He was always impressed by the talent and time of the craftsman in plying their trade.

Walking along Heather caught her footing and tripped, accidentally pulling Ignatious back with a yank. He turned and verbally accosted her, before dragging her to her feet. "But I...tripped!!" Heather looked at Ignatious. Next she knew he was holding her tightly up against a wall in a nearby alley, practically throttling her as he taught her not to answer back before letting her down and telling her to move onward. As they moved on her gaze momentarily caught that of a man in the street, before she looked away in shame.

Fernando saw and heard both the young woman's exclamation as well as the man throttling her, holding her tightly against a wall. If there was one thing Fernando was it was a gentleman who knew how to treat woman and this behavior was unacceptable. He walked over to the man. "Excuse me sir, the young lady said she tripped, surely that is no reason to treat her like you are."

Ignatious glanced at Fernando then at Heather. "Her?" He grasped Heather around the back of the neck holding her tightly. "Who are you to dictate how I treat my property!" He kissed Heather deeply before pushing her back and letting her go. "Now I suggest you go back to your own business." With that he walked on with Heather in tow.

Fernando would not be detoured. He moved quickly to block the man from going any farther. "Your property? She is a human being not property and you have no business or right to treat her like you are." He looked over the man's shoulder at the woman and saw her dull eyes, *she's drugged* He realized. Not enough to make her unresponsive but drugged to keep her under control.

"I'll treat her any way I wish!!" Ignatious threw the first punch as he tried to floor his opponent. As for Heather she simply stood watching the exchange, she'd spent a long time in the hands of slavers prior to this master and been beaten to teach her submission and obedience. She had no free will to run whilst his back was turned.

Fernando was small but he was as tough as nails. He ducked under the punch and followed with a right hook and a left jab to his opponent's face. Blood flowed from the man's nose. He glanced as the woman just stood there.

There was a faint glimmer of emotion on her face, as Fernando had thrown his punches she'd winced at the pain she'd felt from Ignatious. The giveaway that she was at least in some part Betazoid. For a moment her eyes met Fernando's almost pleadingly but she still said and did nothing.

Fernando's eyes shifted back to his opponent, watching, waiting to see what the man did next. Fernando hoped he would turn away and leave the woman but he knew in his heart that wasn't about to happen.

Ignatious growled before launching an all out attack on Fernando, swinging his punches. Heather watched before seeing something nearby, she slowly picked it up and as soon as Ignatious' back was turned she hit him with the large rock knocking him out. She froze, her glance turning to Fernando. "Help..." She fell to her knees beside her master.

Fernando moved quickly, He knelt beside the man, fully expecting him to be dead or at least knocked cold but even now he was stirring and groaning. He grabbed the woman's hand, "He's alright. We have to get out of here!" He urged as he began to lead her away. "Come on!" He urged.

At first Heather resisted but something told her to trust this man. She stood and let him lead her, perhaps he would be a better master for her. "Where?..." She looked at Fernando as they started moving.

Fernando glanced back at the man, he was getting to his knees. "A safe haven." He replied, "Now lets go!" As he pulled her down the street and away from the man.

Heather followed, she put up no resistance as she followed Fernando. She felt she could trust him so she kept pace with him.

Fernando ran, occasionally looking back but he didn't see any pursuit. He looked around and saw a small alcove for them to duck into. He need to get them back to the Elysium. They would be safe and he could find out who the woman was.

Heather followed, if this was to be her new master she was sure he'd be a better one and she'd please him in return. She wondered where he was leading her but no doubt she'd soon find out.

"What's your name and who was that man?" Fernando asked, checking again to make sure they weren't being followed.

"I...I'm Heather" She looked confused. She couldn't remember her surname with the way that the mind control drugs shrouded her mind. "That...was my new master. I was...sold to him."

Shock appeared on Fernando's face as Heather spoke. "No, no, no. You listen to me Heather, you are a person and you can't be sold. You don't belong to anyone! Do you understand? By the way I'm Fernando." he looked at her again, "What do you mean sold?"

"I...I'm a slave. He brought me at a slave market on another planet." She looked at Fernando. "My master will come for me! You're in danger....you have to let me go!"

Fernando placed his hands on Heather's shoulders. "You aren't a slave! People can't be bought and sold. "I'll get you somewhere safe, where you never have to worry about that man again."

Heather nodded as she looked at Fernando. "Thank you Fernando."

He smiled at her, "You are welcome Heather." He stuck his hand into his pocked and fished out his communicator. "De La Rosa to Elysium. Two to beam up."

"Two Chief?" Came back the confused reply.

"Two." Fernando repeated "NOW."

A strangely familiar sensation took over Heather before she was suddenly not on the planet anymore. She looked at Fernando in surprise. "A...ship!" She looked at the transporter chief his clothing looked familiar but she couldn't remember from where. Instead she took Fernando's hand wanting to feel safe."

"The USS Elysium." Fernando said proudly. As he ignored the confused look on the transporter chief's face. "Lets get you to Sickbay and get you checked out." He squeezed her hand in return. "Your safe. I promise Heather."

"No!" She shook her head obviously terrified at that idea. "I trust you...no doctor!! Take me with you, I'll stay with you!!"

"Heather...I" Fernando began gently but stopped at seeing how terrified she was of the idea. He started again, "Okay you can come with to my quarters. Will that be alright?"

Heather nodded. Following Fernando she was glad when they eventually reached his quarters, her hands were starting to shake and her head was buzzing with all the tekepathic input she was getting. "Can I...clean up when we get there?"

"Of course you can Heather, we'll get you something to eat as well. How does that sound?" Fernando asked as they walked, trying to keep her engaged and hopefully learn more about who she was.

Heather nodded and offered a brief smile. As they arrived and entered she looked around, getting an idea of the layout. It all seemed oddly familiar. Walking into the bathroom she shed her dirty clothing, washed and freshened up before re-emerging totally naked. She wanted to please Fernando and she hoped it pleased him seeing her naked for him.

Fernando was busy thinking how to find out more Heather's story when she emerged from the bathroom. Turning his eyes got as big as saucers "Whoa!! Whoa!! Heather! What are you doing?" As he jumped up from the couch and quickly replicated a towel to cover her. "That won't work." He muttered, "Computer replicate, ladies pajamas size 6." He guessed. An instant later the pjs appeared. "Here put this on Heather."

Heather looked at Fernando in surprise. All she could remember of her recent life was being used and abused by men, Fernando was different. She put on the pyjamas before looking at him. "Fernando I...don't feel..." She moved to the sofa and lay down, it wasn't long before she was shivering.

He grabbed a blanket and covered her. He sat beside and touched her forehead she wasn't hot so he ruled out a fever. "Heather? Can I get you anything? Can you tell me what's wrong?"

Heather was suffering, her body needed the control drugs she was given and now she wasn't getting them.
"Withdrawal..." Was all she managed to say as her whole body was wracked with pain. She drew her knees up to her stomach and kept shivering.

"Heather, let me call a doctor. To help you." Fernando pleaded.

Heather could see his concern, she had trust in him. She managed a nod. "i want...to stay here!"

Fernando breathed a sigh of relief at Heather's agreeing to see a doctor. But who should he call? He didn't want to call the CMO. In Heather's present state seeing a Gorn, would definitely freak her out. Then he had it. He would call Tallia. He tapped his com. "Dr. Strode, this is Fernando De La Rosa. Could you please come to my quarters? It's rather urgent."

"Damn it, Casanova, I was just about to go on shore leave. I swear to God if this is a damn STI you're going to live with it until I get back!" Tallia grumbled as she came into the open door, she'd actually been in his corridor when he'd called, ~How did he not see me?~ It was then she saw the redhead, "Oh my God, what happened to you two?"

"No, no, no Tallia! it's not like that at all!" Fernando protested. "I was on the planet's surface just walking, looking around, minding my own business when I saw this man accosting a woman who turned out to be Heather. He said he could do what he wanted as he had bought her! Can you believe it? Bought her!!!!!!! Then he took a swing at me and I decked him. I grabbed Heather to get her away from him and here we are. I tried to get her to go to Sickbay but she refused. So she showered and cleaned up here. I um replicated the pajamas for her. She started shaking and said withdrawal." He looked at Tallia, "I think they kept her drugged Tallia!" He looked over to the shaking Heather. "Please help her Tallia. I think there is more to her than meets the eye." His tone pleading.

"Okay, let me get a look." Tallia replied, seeing how upset Fernando was sent her skidding into doctor mode. Whipping out her ever present medical tricorder, she shook her head in disbelief at the readings on the screen, "It would be a hundred times easier to tell you what they didn't pump this girl full of, it's a miracle she's still alive." Turning to Fernando she motioned him to her, "I can't do anything for her here, I need to get her to sickbay, stat."

"I understand Tallia." Fernando replied as he came to stand next to her, "It's Heather who will object." He explained. "Wait, can I stay with her? That will keep her calm and allow you to help her."

"Can you?" Tallia asked, "That's doctor's orders, no way I can handle her alone and most of the medical staff are already planetside, you just got promoted to nurse, Casanova."

"I can." Fernando said without hesitation. "Me a nurse, who would have thought it?" He mused. He walked over to where Heather lay shaking on the couch still wrapped in the blanket Fernando had placed over her.. "Heather?" He said kneeling beside the couch and speaking softly. "Doctor Tallia is here, she can help you but you have to go to Sickbay. I'll stay with you but you have to go so you can get better."

"Fernando," Tallia interjected, looking down at her tricorder, "we've got to get a move on, we're going to have to start detoxing her now or she's not going to be here in the morning."

Tallia's dire warning spurred Fernando into action. there was no more time for talking and trying to reason with Heather. He stood and bent forward, picking Heather up easily. "Lets go." He told Tallia.

"Computer, initiate site to site transport to sickbay." Tallia ordered, in seconds they vanished in a shimmer of blue and reappeared in sickbay, "Put her over there." She said, pointing to a nearby diagnostic bed, "Keep her as still as you can, please."

Fernando didn't bother with replying, he place heather on the biobed then stood next to her as her shakes were getting worse. "Heather, we're in Sickbay. Everything is going to be alright. Just hang on."

Heather would have acknowledged Fernando but her symptoms were too far gone, her body was way past the shakes as she went into a full blown seizure.

"Shit!" Tallia swore, dashing over to the redhead, and placing an alpha wave inducer onto her head, it stopped the seizure in it's tracks, but there was no doubt going to be some damage from it, "Okay, we've got to begin ultra-rapid detox, we can't wait anymore. I'm going to start pumping her full of countermeasure medicines, see how much of this we can knock out now."

"This is bad isn't Tallia? I mean really bad." Fernando asked his voice barely a whisper, his eyes on the various monitors before going to Heather.

"Well, it's definitely not good." The doctor replied, her readings were horrible, this woman should already be dead by rights. She applied the first hypo, a sedative to slow the spread of the other drugs through her system, "I can't give her anything else to sedate her, another dose will stop her heart. We're going to have to starting getting the countermeasures on board, it might not help even then."

Fernando nodded, his face pale. "What can I do to help you Tallia?" He had to do something! He just couldn't stand by and watch Heather die.

"Go to the replicator, I need three twenty ml doses of CM-137-Kilo." Tallia orded, "As soon as you have them, bring them to me, I'll get them into her system."

Fernando nodded, "Three doses of CM-137-Kilo." Fernando repeated as he moved to the replicator to fulfill Tallia's order. Moments later he was back at her side with the doses. "Here you are Tallia."

Tallia administered the first dose, it brought her heart rate down a bit, enough to where she didn't think cardiac arrest was a clear and present threat, "We'll give it one minute, then we'll drop the second dose."

Fernando stood next to Tallia but his eyes were on Heather. "Yes Doctor." He replied quietly.

"Second dose on board." Tallia stated as she pressed the hypo to Heather's neck again, "Heart rate and pulse are within five percent of normal parameters, very good. One more minute, then we're shooting our last bullet, after that all we can do is wait. She's got an Alpha wave inducer on her head, she'll sleep uninterrupted until it comes off. Barring something terrible that's unforeseen she should be okay now."

"So tell me," Tallia began, pouring them both a glass of her favorite Chinese Grey iced tea, "what do you know about her other than her name is Heather and some piece of crap bought her?"

"Thank you Tallia." Fernando looked over at Heather then back to Tallia. " Not much more than that Tallia. Though I think she is Starfleet or was at some point."

"We can know for sure in two seconds." Tallia said, "Computer, identify the occupant of Diagnostic Bed 3."

"Occupant of Diagnostic Bed 3 identified as Sergeant Heather Raines, SFMC." The computer answered, "Listed as Absent Without Leave from her assignment."

"Computer, please advise Sector Marine Command to change her listing from AWOL to kidnapped and then to recovered by Chief Petty Officer De La Rosa." Tallia ordered, "And please pull her medical files for my inspection, listing me as her new Doctor of record."

"Lt. Tallia Strode is now listed as Physician of Record for Sgt. Heather Raines." The computer replied, "Contacting Marine Sector Command now."
